Reincarnated as an Energy with a System – Chapter 1594

A Room full of Sparks

Chapter 1594: A Room full of Sparks

Ning walked into the dining hall where everyone was gathered to say their goodbyes. They were all planning on returning to their home, no longer able to work on their experiments anymore.

A few people turned their heads and saw Ning walking in. Not many knew him but the woman from yesterday recognized him.

“Why are you here?” she asked. “Is there a problem?”

“There is,” Ning said. “I heard that you are all trying to leave. Is that true?”

“It is,” the woman said. “Since we won’t get to use any more Spark for ourselves, we have nothing to do here. We will take what we’ve made here back to our place and continue our experiments there. Hopefully, all of it won’t be a waste.”

“No,” Ning said. “You’re not doing that.”

He turned around and began walking. “Where is your storage area? Take me there.”

Wultz quickly followed Ning, unsure what he really wanted. The woman followed him as well, and so did a couple of the other scholars.

Wultz showed Ning around the place, showing a large room that was specifically made to store the massive amount of Spark. It had emptied a lot by now as a lot of it had been used up already.

Ning looked around and saw a large metal door that was meant to keep the Spark out. He nodded and walked in. “Stay out for a bit,” he said and closed the large metal door behind him.

The door shut with a loud sound, making Wultz confused about what Ning was doing in there.

“Do you think he’s stealing by any chance?” she asked.

Wultz shook his head. “I don’t think that’s it. He wants you guys to continue your work. He acted surprised when he heard you were all going to leave.”

“But how will he make us stay?” she asked. “We have nothing to work with.”

The old man shrugged. “I don’t know. Don’t ask me about this.”

The other people that had followed talked among themselves too, but no one guessed what Ning was doing.

Ning pulled the door open and walked out. “There, done,” he said. “Now you won’t have to leave.”

“What do you mean?” the woman asked, confused by his words.

“See for yourself,” Ning said and moved aside. As he walked away, the group of people finally saw what was inside the room through the half-open doorway.

“Is that…”

“Spark!”

“So much Spark.”

The entire room was filled to the brim with Spark. There was so much Spark in here that they could get the Military jealous. Wultz, the old man, walked up to the door and looked inside, trying to judge just how much of the room was filled with Spark.

The entire massive room was halfway filled up. A simple estimation told him that there were nearly 15 tons of Spark in this place alone. This was such an incredible thing to see, and yet, so bizarre as well.

“How did the Spark get in there?” the old man asked. “Are you a Teleporter?”

He understood that Teleporter could only send things away and not receive them, but there was no other way to explain what he had just witnessed.

Nothing he could think of made sense at all.

“How did you do this?” the woman asked as well.

Ning smiled. “I’ll give you two choices, and you must choose one, okay?” he asked.

The people looked confused, but they nodded, wondering what he was going to say.

“You can either keep this Spark and use it as much as you like,” he said. “Or, you can find out how I did what I did. Choose one and discard the other. What will you choose?”

The woman gave an awkward smile. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t trying to poke at whatever secret you carry,” she said. “Thank you for the Spark, we will make great use of it.”

Ning nodded. “Do good things with the Spark. Discover new things that will help people. There are so many things here that could easily be made more efficient if people just gave things more thought. You guys should be able to make the difference.”

The woman smiled. “We will try our best. Thank you so very much,” she said.

Ning nodded. “This should last you months. Keep a list of how you guys make use of it. I don’t want people using this Spark to do anything else. I will require a thorough bookkeeping for this,” he said. “If at the end you use up all the Spark, and you did not waste any of it, I will provide you more.”

The woman was amazed. “You can give us more?” she asked.

Ning chuckled. “Much, much more,” he said. “Don’t tell anyone else though, especially the Military, or this will all be over.”

The woman furiously nodded. “We won’t tell a soul,” she said.

“Good, then I will leave for now. You all can return to whatever you were doing too.”

He moved to walk away.

“Wait, at least tell us your name. Please,” the woman said.

“It’s Ning,” Ning replied. “You guys might have heard of me.”

Several gasps sounded from the room as people quickly spoke one after another.

“That Ning? The one that healed Sparkless?”

“You were the one who found out about the Spark Crystals.”

“Thank you for getting the Dust off the streets.”

“You’re so young! How is this possible?”

Ning smiled. “So you have indeed heard of me,” he said.

“Of course we have,” the woman said. “You… you are a legend among the scholar community. You managed to do something that no scholar has ever done before. Finding the cause of Sparkless is something that most of us have only dreamed of. and yet you went and…”

“I only got lucky. Please do not think of me as someone more than that,” Ning said. “You all have the work of finding more about this world that I cannot.”

“Of course,” the woman said. “We’ll do our very best.”

Ning nodded. “Good, good. I will leave you to it then. That’s all for now. Continue your research. I will pray that you come up with good results very soon.”

“We will,” the woman said. “Again, thank you very much for everything you have done for us.”

Ning smiled and waved them goodbye. He could hear the many people talking behind him, speaking about him in whispers. He couldn’t help but feel accomplished.

Not only had he helped these people’s research, he had inspired them to continue their work as well. They would no doubt put more effort into everything going forward.

Walking back out of the hole Ning looked at the city that was under construction still. Based on the speed at which everything had been completed, he guessed that it would be no more than 5 months before the city was ready for use.

“Keep up the good work. I’ll see you again when I see you again.”

“Take care, young man,” Wultz said out loud as Ning walked away.

This had been a good day, having done something good for the people of this world. He hoped he could continue to do so. But…

“Is there even anything else for me to do?”
