Chapter 640: Void
Nova’s father stood there as if there wasn’t a corpse of his daughter next to him.
‘It’s not going to be alright. I am not going to save you.’ Her father’s voice haunted her mind as he spoke directly to Nova.
He wanted to say pleasant things, but her powers wanted him to do otherwise.
Her mother knew what she had done, but she couldn’t feel remorse at all. Instead, she felt happiness.
Both of them did.
Nova wanted to run away, but her father didn’t let her. He wanted her little girl to not feel scared, so he decided to give her a hug.
Nova’s powers made it so that his hug was the strongest hug she had ever had. Her father was going to crush her with his strength.
For some reason, after realizing this was all her fault, Nova wished she would just die.
Her powers made sure she didn’t die. Instead, the one that was killing her died.
Her mother tried to pull her father away, but instead, she started choking her daughter to death as well.
Then, her mother died too.
Nova remained all alone in her home as the world outside her house started killing each other and soon there would be no more people living in her broken little world.
Every day that she lived there, Nova wished that she would die. However, even as her power slowly lost its strength, she never really could go against it.
Nova believed that she would be the last person to die on that planet, maybe even wished it.
However, as if her powers reached beyond just the planet, she found herself in the middle of a white room with hundreds of people.
Nova realized at that moment that no matter what she did, she would continue to kill people and she felt terrible about it.

“Come on! Attack!” Bellatrix shouted from the other side of the stage.
Even at a time like this, perhaps because it wasn’t the right time, she remembered everything that happened to her vividly.
Suddenly, Nova dropped the sword as the memories overwhelmed her and she was forced to slump down on the ground with her head in her hands.
Ning and the rest saw that and didn’t know what to do.
“That little wyrm should stand up and fight,” Derel said.
“She can’t,” Drake said. “She’s not the fighting type like us.”
Luna, Taron, and Saph were confused as to what was happening. They had guessed from the lack of involvement from Nova in the fights that she wasn’t powerful and was only a hindrance.
But they were still hoping to see her put up some sort of fight and not collapsed to the ground in a bunch of tears.
Bellatrix was perhaps the most confused there. Usually, people would get sympathetic in this situation, but whether it was because of Nova’s powers, or because Bellatrix’s personality was just like that, she started to get angry.
“Why aren’t you fighting?” she shouted.
After not seeing Nova get back up, Bellatrix decided to attack herself.
Ning and the others were wondering what her powers were because she hadn’t shown them yet.
As they waited, Bellatrix suddenly took off the oversized blanket and threw it onto the ground.
Inside, she was wearing a simple pink dress and nothing else.
“I expected an armor or a hideous body inside there, but she’s just a young woman,” Drake said.
“What was she hiding then?” Derel asked while narrowing her eyes to get a better look.
“Maybe she needs darkness to feed her powers? Maybe that’s why she went around in an oversized blanket,” Ning said.
“Maybe,” Drake said.
The three of the waited to see what was up when Derel noticed something.
“Hey, what’s that?” she asked, pointing to the blanket.
“What?” Ning asked as he looked at the blanket. On top of it was something drawn on it.
Bellatrix had hidden it by wearing it on the inside.
“That looks like some sort of magic circle,” Ning said.
Bellatrix quickly extended the corners of her blanket and started saying some sort of prayer or chant.
Soon, the air around the stage moved as it whipped Nova’s hair around and the previously unnoticed markings on the magic circle started shining bright.
Bellatrix wanted to bring out something weak to fight with the even weaker Nova while preserving her Spiritual energy.
However, whatever she wanted was the last thing that happened at this stage.
All the energy in her body disappeared as she poured every single thing in her to summon this monster.
When the summoning circle shined the brightest, something appeared on top of the blanket.
It was something dark and distant. It was hard to see as if it had no color and no shape either.
All they could see was a pair of red eyes and wings that extended out from the void.
“Where am I?” the void spoke to them.
Bellatrix herself was surprised that she managed to call for something so strong. This… whatever it was, was much stronger than the devil that killed every single person in her world.
She was fascinated by it.
Of course, it wasn’t her that had managed to bring this beast here. If not for Nova’s powers forcing her and even aiding her in her summon, she could never bring this being into existence in this place.
“Hahahahahaha!” Bellatrix laughed the hardest she had ever when she saw him. “I did it! I win.”
“Why did you summon me?” the void’s voice escaped. “What do you wish for?”
“I want you… to kill me!” Bellatrix said even as she continued laughing.
All 3 of the members of her group suddenly jolted to their feet when they heard that.
“Granted!”
Before anyone could tell what had happened, all they noticed was the missing hysterical laughter that was in the air a moment ago.
The next moment, there was nothing where Bellatrix stood.
“I have fulfilled my pact,” the void spoke. Then, it slowly turned and looked toward the sky.
“I suppose I should use this moment to get stronger.”
