Chapter 725: Monkey and Wolf
A flaming monkey arrived on the stage not even 10 seconds after the scorpion had disappeared.
The monkey had red fur all over his body except for his chest which was white. Its long tail burned all the way through and so did its hair.
Ning saw the monkey and smiled. “If it’s fire, then I should fight with water,” he thought.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment to find a beast and summon just its powers. Since he was simply asking for powers, he didn’t need to give the beasts more than 20% of his spiritual energy.
He surprisingly found a rather strong beast that accepted his offer and now Ning had its powers.
The flaming monkey jumped around on the stage as it started circling Ning. Ning did nothing but wait for the monkey to start the fight itself.
The monkey suddenly punched toward Ning, sending a fireball at Ning through its fist.
Ning dodged and opened his palm as something formed on it.
The monkey punched again, sending another fireball at Ning. This time, Ning didn’t dodge but instead threw what had formed in his hand.
A snowball.
The fire met with the snow, and the two of them canceled each other for the most part as the fire was a tad bit stronger in this case.
The monkey created a spear of fire this time around and suddenly threw it toward Ning.
Ning created a snow icicle, that was flimsy for the most part but kept it together by crushing it into shape with his hands and sending it flying.
The force with which he threw the icicle destroyed the fire spear, but at the same time, the icicle also broke into a million pieces.
The monkey suddenly jumped in the air and did a quick little spin, creating a wave of fire that moved towards Ning.
Ning suddenly clapped his hands forward, causing a small snow storm to form in front of him that stopped the wave of fire.
The monkey used this time to get close to him and landed barely 3 meters away from him. Then, it took in a deep breath and started breathing out fire.
Ning waved his hands and suddenly a snow wall appeared right in front of him to block the attack. However, the monkey continued breathing out a fire that started quickly melting through the wall.
Ning continued adding onto the wall, making it thicker and thicker, but the monkey didn’t stop at all, as if it didn’t need to breathe at all.
Ning saw the monkey trying its best to get through the wall and that gave him an idea. He stopped creating more snow to cover up the wall and let the monkey get through it.
When it finally managed to get past the wall, Ning swung his arm, sending an air cutter towards the monkey.
The air cutter was violent and carved through the fire breath as it landed directly on the monkey, throwing it backward.
Ning had held back a bit, but he was still surprised that the monkey hadn’t been defeated at all.
So, he ran up to the monkey and created a massive snowball above him, and dropped it onto the monkey as hard as he could.
The monkey was hit hard by the ball and ended up getting unsummoned, leaving Ning as the victor in their two battle.
The crowd shouted in excitement at the fact that Ning had won again. Ning turned to look at the betting area and could see that the odds were still in his favor. However, as the matches went along, it would definitely go against him as many would start to believe that he was tired and couldn’t fight anymore.
Ning immediately turned around and went to the edge of the stage, waiting for the next beast to come by.
A wolf appeared on the stage with silver-white fur that growled at Ning.
The beasts were all summoned away from him so he couldn’t see what the beasts’ summoning circle looked like, thus he didn’t know what rank or type of beast it was.
He could simply use his analysis skill, but that didn’t seem fun. He wanted to fight as normally as one could.
The wolf’s purple eyes shined with a bright light, and suddenly, the beast split off into a bunch of other wolves that started moving all around him.
Before Ning even understood what was happening, he had already lost track of the original beast amongst the nearly 50 that had appeared on the stage now.
He smiled a bit as the situation intrigued him. He was looking forward to this fight.
A snow icicle formed in his hand as he threw it at one of the wolves that were running around him. The wolf that was hit suddenly turned into motes of light while his snow dispersed as if it actually hit something, suggesting that it wasn’t a simple visual illusion but rather something that was much more physical.
Ning saw the wolf that jumped at him from behind and dodged to punch it back.
He felt some feedback on his hand from the impact, but not enough to feel like he was hitting.
The best he could compare it to was as if he was hitting a pocket of air that was inside a balloon.
He started going after the beasts one by one.
He punched the wolf next to him while sending an icicle at the one far away. He created a snow storm to disrupt the wolves as much as he could.
The snow storm was harmless for the most part, but as the storm kept on going, Ning increased its powers and soon the snow storm turned into a hailstorm, as hailstones the size of grapes started pelleting through the pack of wolves.
One after another, the many wolves started turning into a bunch of light all around him. As Ning kept it going, all the wolves disappeared except for one.
He turned around to find the real wolf standing behind him, with a lot of fight left in it still.
