Chapter 101: Chapter 101
The clash between Eru and the giant wolf continued. It was so intense that the area surrounding them was devastated due to the clash of their power. They were so focused on fighting one another that they did not notice two people had arrived. “What the hell is this….” Ling had her mouth open agape. She stood dumbfounded at the level of power that Eru and the giant wolf emitted. Long had a slight smile on his face as his mind was spinning, ‘I knew it! I knew he smelled familiar,’ he thought in his head.
Both Ling and Long looked at Eru’s appearance and couldn’t help but gulp. “Dragon, that’s a dragon”, Ling pointed her finger at Eru with her eyes wide in surprise. Long nodded, “That is indeed a dragon”, he exclaimed. Ling shook her head, “Unbelievable. I always thought that dragons were a myth. Who would’ve thought that I got a chance to see one right before my eyes….” Then, Ling licked her lips, ‘I should’ve gone all in the night before. Why did I only think about pranking the little guy,’ she thought inside of her head.
“Hahaha! Rejoice, you mutt! Cry your tears of joy as you managed to entertain this mighty figure of mine!” Eru exclaimed, laughing while continuing to clash against the giant wolf. As if sharing Eru’s thoughts, the giant wolf flashed a menacing grin while it used its claws to strike at Eru. Eru managed to block the giant wolf’s claw, but the latter thrust its’ tail towards Eru. Eru grabbed the giant wolf’s tail, gripping it tightly with his empty left hand. Then, Eru screamed as he threw the giant wolf away towards a nearby tree.
Eru did not stop, however. Following that, Eru threw multiple energy blades towards the giant wolf before charging behind the energy blades. The giant wolf broke a few trees before landing on the ground. The giant wolf’s peril did not stop there. The multiple energy blades that Eru fired were homing straight at it. The giant wolf also saw Eru was striding behind his energy blades, encroaching towards its position. Instead of what it usually did, that was to create a mana barrier to protect itself; the giant wolf summoned lightning around its body.
Then, the giant wolf sent the lightning to block Eru’s energy blades. Then, the giant wolf rushed towards Eru, meeting the latter’s black sword with its own metallic claws. The clash between Eru’s black sword and the giant wolf’s claws created a blast around them. The shockwave from the blast sent Ling and Long flying. “Aaaah”, Ling screamed, but Long immediately grabbed Ling by her waist before stabbing the ground with his staff. Long put down Ling on the ground gently before patting his clothes. “Thanks”, Ling said while her eyes were still glued to the fight between Eru and the giant wolf.
Long was also staring at the battle between Eru and the giant wolf before speaking to Ling, “Do you think we should help out?” he asked. Ling furiously shook her head, “Are you crazy? Do you want to die? Eru and the giant wolf’s fight is already beyond our capabilities to interfere. If you want to die by yourself, by all means, do it.” Long observed the battle between Eru and the giant wolf before nodding, “Your words make sense.” Then, they saw the giant wolf’s horns were gathering lightning.
The giant wolf howled, the lightning on top of its horns were combined into one. Then, the lightning turned into an energy beam aimed towards Eru. Eru was barely able to dodge the energy beam. Then, Eru heard a boom behind him. He looked back and saw that a giant crater was created by a single energy beam that the giant wolf sent at him. “You giant mutt! What powerful attack”, Eru exclaimed. Not willing to lose out to the giant wolf, Eru gathered his own aura inside Buddy.
“Infused spell, explosion”, Eru said. Then, he thrust his black sword forward, “Explosion Aura Thrust!” Eru yelled out. Then, a raven-coloured beam was shot out from the tip of Eru’s black sword aimed towards the giant wolf. Like Eru before, the giant wolf was barely able to dodge the beam. Then, the missed raven-coloured beam from Eru hit the ground. As soon as it did that, the ground exploded, sending debris everywhere.
The giant wolf had sweat pouring all over its face when it saw the impact from Eru’s attack was more powerful than its own attack. Unlike the giant wolf that stood around waiting for its opponent to retaliate, Eru immediately struck with his sword. Eru’s strike caught the giant wolf off guard. The giant wolf was cut in the left eye; dark blue blood dripped from its left eye as it stared hatefully at Eru with its other eye.
“Haha, got you!” Eru happily said while putting his black sword on his shoulder. The giant wolf roared in anger; lightning enveloped its body as the giant wolf dashed through the forest, encircling Eru. “Did you not have some creativity on your own, mutt? Again you used my strategy against me”, Eru quipped while defending from lightning blasts that were launched by the giant wolf as it encircled Eru. “I guess a mutt will always be a mutt no matter how powerful it gets”, Eru stomped the ground, creating a pit right at the trajectory of the giant wolf.
The pit did not affect the giant wolf much except to slow it down by a split second. However, that split second was enough for Eru to disturb the giant wolf’s movement. Eru launched an energy blade at the giant wolf’s head while he headed towards the giant wolf’s torso. The giant wolf protected its head, but in doing so, left its torso wide open. Eru smirked, “Time to end this farce!”, he yelled then he kicked the giant wolf’s torso with force, sending the giant wolf flying. Then, Eru flapped his wings. He flew, following the giant wolf upwards before striking with his sword, sending the giant wolf straight back down to the ground.
Boom!
A massive crater was created due to the giant wolf’s fall. Then, Eru dived down from the sky towards the giant wolf. With the black sword pointed downwards, Eru pierced through the giant wolf, cleaving it in two. “And that’s that”, Eru stepped away from the now cleaved giant wolf’s corpse. Eru looked at the giant wolf’s dead body, “You were strong for a mutt. But, unfortunately, you’re not strong enough to face me”, Eru said as he pointed his finger at the dead giant wolf. “Spell Activate, Explosion!” Eru muttered, then the giant wolf’s dead body exploded, leaving no traces of it in the world.
Eru then looked behind him, finding a shocked Ling and a smiling Long, “Oh, hey guys, how is the fight?” Eru asked cheerily with his Dragon Force technique still on. Ling pointed her finger at Eru, “Y-you bastard! How dare you leave us alone back there!?” she yelled, her tone stuttering. Eru smiled apologetically, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I thought that both of you were capable enough to handle the wolves pack.” Then, Eru looked at both Ling and Long and realized something. ‘Damn it! I forgot about the side effect of the Dragon Force Technique. I’m screwed!’ Eru clutched his head.
Not knowing Eru’s inner struggle, Long thought that Eru was in pain, “Are you okay, brother Eru?” he asked with concern. Without saying anything, Eru immediately flapped his wings, flying high towards the sky. “I’ll go back to the village for a bit, see you guys later!” Eru said goodbye to Ling and Long. And without waiting for Ling and Long reply, Eru left the scene instantly. Ling’s mouth was wide agape before cursing uncontrollably. Long just shook his head, smiling.
Eru was flying in the sky, feeling a little bit relieved. “Phew, I’m glad I managed to run away. There’s no way I’m going to entrust my unconscious body to that pervert”, Eru patted his chest. Eru then scanned the area, finding that the area around him looked unfamiliar. “Uh, where am I?” Eru asked to himself. Eru floated in the air, confused about where he was. “Um, why am I in the middle of some snowy area?” Eru was dumbfounded. All around him was mountain peaks filled with snow.
“Maybe I flew too high? I better go back down”, Eru said. He tried flying back down, but just before he managed to do so, Eru felt his body start to weaken. “Damn it! This darn side effect of the Dragon Force Technique! Hold on, body, just a little more”, Eru forced himself to fly lower. But, fate had other plans for him. The Dragon Force technique was beginning to dissipate, making Eru feel helpless. Then, after a short second, the Dragon Force Technique finally dissipated. When it fully did, Eru could not hold on to his consciousness any longer before passing out.
