Then a dark-skinned young man wearing full blue winter clothes rushed hurriedly towards the village, yelling and shouting, “Wolves, Snow wolves are attacking.” The dark-skinned young man was running with all of his might; his sweats were visible, pouring from his forehead. “All personnel, prepare for battle”, the burly Village Chief barked an order. Following that, the women and children entered their respective houses. Then, the men in the village grabbed a weapon for themselves. Like a well-oiled machine, the men followed the Village Chief’s towards the entrance of the village, preparing to intercept the wolves.
“Come, let us take shelter”, persuaded Ica as she pulled on Eru’s shirt. “You go hide. I’ll go help”, Eru said. “But you’re injured”, Ica concernedly said. “Don’t worry. Although I’m injured, a couple of wolves shouldn’t be a problem”, Eru assured. Seeing the firm gaze in Eru’s eyes, Ica nodded, “Right, but be careful”, she said as she hurriedly ran inside of her house. Eru watched Ica go before putting his hand forward, “Come to me, Buddy”, Eru said. Then, a black sword appeared right inside of Eru’s grip, “Long time no see, Buddy.” The black sword vibrated happily, replying joyfully.
Eru turned his head towards the village’s entrance, “Let’s go”, he said before disappearing from the spot.

“Whoever is hurt, go to the back! Rotate, rotate! Don’t destroy the formation; remember your training”, the burly Village Chief barked. “Sir, yes sir!” the villagers replied loudly as they rotated according to the Village Chief’s order. Eru watched from afar the tactics that the villagers employ. “This reminded me of what Nobunaga used to do with his rifle” Eru rubbed his chin. The unhurt villagers would move to the front row with their spears while the injured villagers would step backwards to recuperate.
What Eru did not expect was that the injured villagers were immediately healed by some young man. “There’s a mage here”, Eru observed the young man wielding a staff standing at the rear. Eru scrutinized the young man, and he found that the young man really resembled the young girl from earlier, Ica. “Are they related?” Eru wondered. Eru saw the burly Village Chief continuously barked orders, keeping the formation and the villagers in line. “At this rate, they wouldn’t need my help”, Eru’s lips curled up into a small smile.
“Awooo!”
“What was that?” Eru looked up on the mountain, as do the villagers, the burly Village Chief and the young man in the rear. Then they saw a large Snow Wolf, standing on top of the mountain before jumping down. Eru’s face was paled when he saw the large Snow Wolf, “One wolf after another”, he sighed. The ground caved in when the large Snow Wolf landed right in front of the villagers. The large Snow Wolf execrated pressure so strong towards the villagers that the latter immediately passed out. The stronger ones among the villagers kneeled on the floor, while the burly Village Chief and the young man standing in the rear were sweating buckets.
Eru breathed a sigh of relief, “Phew, thankfully, this one did not seem to be as strong as the last one”, he stretched his body, rotating his arms, “Are you ready, Buddy?” The black sword in his hand vibrated passionately, “Good, time to hunt another wolf.” Eru jumped from where he was, striding across the sky and eventually landed right near the wolf pack. Eru appearance startled the large Snow Wolf and its pack and surprised the burly Village Chief and the young man standing in the rear. “You…”, the young man standing in the rear had his mouth agape while the Village Chief looked at Eru with worry.
“Run away, young man!” the burly Village Chief shouted, “Go, you will only kill yourself”, he warned. Eru flashed a smile at the burly Village Chief, “Don’t worry about me, I can take care of myself”, he assured, “W-wait”, the burly Village Chief wanted to stop the raven-haired young man in front of him, but he couldn’t due to the pressure emitted from the large Snow Wolf. “And you”, Eru pointed his black sword at the large Snow Wolf, “I will only say it again, leave with your pack, never come back again, or I’ll annihilate you right now”, Eru threatened.
The large Snow Wolf snarled; it growled before howling, commanding its pack to charge at Eru. “Now you’re just sending your pack to die”, Eru grinned. Facing the wolves pack coming his way, Eru was quite calm. Eru unleashed his aura, but because of his wounds, Eru could only use the power of a 2nd Grade Aura Master. “Huh, my power dropped down one level. Not that it matters”, Eru muttered while killing the wolves leisurely.
Upon seeing Eru killing the wolves casually like harvesting cabbage, the burly Village Chief and the young man standing in the rear were flabbergasted. “How in the hell….”, the young man had his mouth agape in disbelief. The burly Village Chief and the young man standing in the rear watched as the snow wolves pack was annihilated by Eru one by one. Every time Eru’s black sword moved, a snow wolf would be killed instantly. After a while, the large Snow Wolf finally ran out of its pack. The large Snow Wolf looked at Eru in fear and trepidation as the latter cleaned up the blood of its pack from his black sword.
Eru pointed his black sword again at the large Snow Wolf, “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue? Where’s your bravado from earlier?” Eru taunted. Although the large Snow Wolf did not understand what Eru was saying, it felt insulted by Eru. The large Snow Wolf previous fear and trepidation were replaced with anger and humiliation. The large Snow Wolf growled; it roared in ager as mana gathered around its body. When the mana surge finished filling the large Snow Wolf, it instantly disappeared from its spot.
The large Snow Wolf appeared in front of Eru in a flash as it tried to bite the raven-haired young man in front of it. Eru laughed, “If you think you could bit me to death, you are deluded.” Eru used his black sword to block the large Snow Wolf mouth. Then, Eru stuck his empty hand inside the large Snow Wolf’s mouth, “Buh bye.” Eru then opened his mouth wide, “Explosion”, he shouted. A huge amount of fire mana gathered on Eru’s left arm inside the large Snow Wolf mouth. As it gathered, the fire mana burst out, exploding the large Snow Wolf from the inside.
Eru grin turned into disgust immediately after, “Yuck, wolf intensities. I need a hot shower after this”, he said while dusting off his clothes. Then, Eru turned towards the flabbergasted burly Village Chief and the young man in the rear, “And that’s that. How are you guys? Are you okay?” he flashed a gentle smile. However, to the burly Village Chief and the young man in the rear, that smile was like the smile of the devil itself.

“Ko!” the blu-haired, green-eyed young girl rushed to hug her brother with slight tears in her eyes, “I thought you were dead”, Ica said. The previous young man in the rear, Ica’s older brother, Ko, rubbed his little sister head, “You silly mongoose, I will never leave you alone”, he assured. “Un”, Ica nodded with a wide grin on her face. “Oh, yeah, brother”, Ica raised her head up. “Hmm?” Ko looked down at his smiling little sister, “What’s up?” he asked. “Did you see him?” Ica asked back. “See who?” Ko raised his eyebrow. “Him, him. The one that we saved the other day. He told me he was going to help”, Ica explained excitedly. “Oh, him, huh”, Ko grumbled, “Yeah, I did.” Ica’s eyes sparkle, “What do you think? Is he strong?” she curiously asked.
Ko took a minute of silence before raising his head, looking up towards the sky, “Yes, he is. I think what we rescued is not human”, Ica tilted her head as Ko paused, “But a monster.”

A few hours earlier, after Eru was done killing the large Snow Wolf, he approached the burly Village Chief, “Are you guys okay?” he asked. The burly Village Chief nodded weakly, “I’m mostly okay”, he said, clearly still shocked. “How about you?” Eru then turned his head to the young man standing in the rear. Eru found that the young man was shivering, his legs trembling, and sweats were pouring from his forehead. “Uh, I-I’m also mostly fine”, the young man standing in the rear stutteringly said.
“That is good news”, Eru smiled, “How about this guy?” Eru pointed his black sword at the large Snow Wolf’s corpse, “Can you carry this big thing?” The burly Village Chief shook his head, with the young man following the former’s action. “Then I’ll help you carry it”, Eru said before lifting the large Snow Wolf’s corpse, carrying it on his shoulder. The young man standing in the rear watched as Eru carried the large Snow Wolf’s corpse with relative ease. Then, he saw the aftermath of the battle between Eru and the large Snow Wolf and its pack. The young man couldn’t help but shiver, “There’s no way that he is human”, the young man muttered.
