“It’s Long; he’s coming here, isn’t he?” Eru frowned; he scrutinized the surroundings, “It’s okay, I don’t feel… Shit—” Eru immediately regretted his words as he saw a raging, transformed Long was approaching them slowly. Eru saw smoke coming from Long’s mouth, and the terrifying pressure coming from Long was no joke. “Damn it, did I have to use the Dragon Force Technique again?” Eru mumbled. Long stepped slowly towards Eru and Ling. Long’s step carried with his power while space cracked all around him.
“Hurry up!” Ling urged, “Hurry up and transform! He’s coming!” she trembled. Eru then saw Long flapped his wings. He propelled himself forward, charging right at Eru and Ling. “Watched out!” Ling shouted while Eru brandished his black sword. “Quickly, transform”, Ling continued urging Eru. As Long got closer and closer, Eru did not transform, and instead, he faced Long’s attack with his black sword. “Rargh!” Long forced through his attack, nearly sending Eru flying through a rock. If not for Eru quick reflexes, Eru would already be planted into a rock.
Then, Long’s attention turned into Ling, “Gosh darn it, why don’t you transform!?” she shouted before pulling out more talismans. Ling kept throwing her talismans at Long. However, it was all come to nothing as Long continued to advance towards Ling. “Go away, don’t go near me!” she yelled, afraid. As soon as Eru stabilized himself, he immediately ran like a flash, arriving in between Long and Ling. Long swung downwards with his staff in which Eru managed to successfully parry it down. With the momentum from the parry, Eru used it masterfully. He did a downwards swing, hitting Long’s red mana coating.
Eru did not manage to slash through Long’s red mana. “Tch”, Eru clicked his tongue; his sword was about to be grabbed by Long’s hand, but Eru was quick to pull his sword back. Eru kept striking Long, but his red mana coating proved too tough for Eru to break open. “Just transform already, don’t waste your time; he’s too strong”, Ling suggested. “Shut up! Do you think that I don’t want to transform?” Eru yelled while parrying Long’s myriad of attacks. “So you can’t?”
“Of course I can’t, you dolt!” Eru rebuked, “The side effect from the transformation was immense. The toll on my body is huge, and since I used it for a long time before, I needed more time.” Ling scoffed, “Damn it! This is the worse week of my life”, she exclaimed. “Then don’t just complain about it!” Eru shouted while he was avoiding and dodging Long’s attack, “Help me. We stand a better chance of getting out of here alive if we work together.” Ling shook her head. She took a deep breath before stepping back with her talismans in hand, “Fine, I’ll cover you.”

“Ling, throw your talismans there”, Eru ordered, pointing at a spot towards his northeast. Then, Eru used his attacks and clever positioning to lead Long by his nose. How could Eru do this? It’s simple since Long had lost his reasoning; he resembled a wild beast. With Eru’s skill coupled with his experience, and after his training with the Demon King, handling a mindless Long was possible for him.
“Now!” Eru barked, and Ling immediately threw the talismans on the ground. When Long stepped on there, Ling’s talismans lit up before exploding. The ground caved in, bringing Long with it. “Change position”, Eru shouted. After that, Eru and Ling reposition themselves into a more strategic position. The pitfall could not hold the transformed Long for long as he immediately flew up. “Here he comes!” Eru shouted, “Get ready!”
Long charged at Eru and Ling with deep fury in his eyes. Long’s dragon transformation had also caused his pride to flare up. However, since Long did not have his rationality, he was driven by instinct. And that instinct was to fuel that pride, the dragon pride inside. And dragons, they don’t like to be hindered. Long’s mana flared up, he powered up significantly, rushing towards Eru, mowing down every tree in his way. “Disperse!” Eru shouted. Then, Ling jumped away from Eru while the latter stood his ground.
Eru mustered as much aura that he could within himself as he braced for impact. Long’s staff was swung down with much force. Eru put up his guard. Just as Long’s staff was about to hit Eru’s sword, Eru slightly tilted his sword, parrying Long’s staff down. After that, Eru immediately did a diagonal cut using the momentum from the parry. Even with his aura coating the black sword, Eru did not manage to break through Long’s red mana. However, what Eru managed to do was push Long back quite far.
“Ling, slow him down”, Eru barked. “On it!” Ling immediately threw her talismans in front of Long’s feet. Ling’s talismans exploded, creating another pit. But, this time, Long did not fall through the hole as he flapped his wings to float up. “Oh, no, you don’t! Get inside!” Eru yelled; he appeared above Long in a flash. Aura gathered on Eru’s sword as he swung his sword downwards. Long blocked Eru’s sword using his staff, but the impact from Eru’s sing sent him down the hole.
Eru flipped backwards using the impact from the clash to land safely on the ground. “Ling, blast the entrance!” Eru shouted, giving orders to Ling. Before Eru finished speaking, Ling was already throwing her talismans. Most of Ling’s talismans went down the hole while some of them stuck right at the entrance. Ling snapped her fingers; her talismans exploded as soon as she did that. The talismans inside the hole exploded, shaking the ground around them, while the ones at the entrance blocked the hole with the debris.
“Now, run!” Eru barked, he and Ling immediately ran away from the area while Long was still incapacitated. Not long after, Long burst out from the hole. He flew high in the sky, roaring in anger; Long breathed fire all over the sky. He scanned the area below him with his golden scally eyes. Long then found Eru and Ling running hurriedly through the forest. He savagely smiled, using his wings; Long dived down fast towards Eru and Ling’s direction. However, Eru and Ling suddenly stopped; they looked upwards, smiling cheekily at Long.
Long passed through Eru and Ling’s figure, crashing through the ground, creating a giant crater on the ground. “Peek a boo!” Eru said; he extended both of his hands towards the giant crater, “Explosion!” he shouted. The giant crater exploded, engulfing Long and the life in the area. The explosion was so huge that Eru was blasted back from the shockwave. Eru was about to crash through the wall, but Ling quickly caught him in the air. “Thanks”, Eru stood up, dusting his clothes. Ling had a look of amazement, “You can use both mana and aura? What kind of monster are you?” she asked.
Eru was about to reply, but he suddenly sensed Long was closing in on them. “Not as much a monster as he”, Eru said somberly. “Huh?” Ling turned her head, finding Long was closing in on them. “For fuck sake, what the hell can we do to keep that guy down!?” she cursed in frustration. “We’ll just have to stall a bit more. I can feel it in my body. I could transform soon”, Eru informed. Ling’s eyes brightened up when she heard what Eru had to say. “Then we’ll do our damndest to stall this son of a bitch”, she said, brandishing her talismans on her hand.

“Is it done yet!?” Ling yelled; she jumped around on the trees, barely avoiding Long’s attack. “Nope, not yet”, Eru yelled, “Over here, you lizard!” Eru sent an energy blade towards Long, drawing the latter’s attention. Long roared, he created a fireball in his hand, flying through the air, dashing towards Eru. Long extended his red mana-coated hands, the fireball in Long’s hand touched Eru’s black sword. The fireball immediately exploded, sending Eru tumbling backwards.
“Eru!” Ling screamed, “Bastard!” she cursed. Long smiled deviously when he saw Eru was sent flying back. Then, his attention switched to Ling. Long licked his lips; he looked at Ling with murderous eyes as killing intent was visible from Long’s glare. Ling began to feel dread, fear, and trepidation filled her thoughts while her body was frozen, shaking and terrified. “I’m not afraid of you, bastard!” Ling shouted; she pulled out her talismans, throwing them in the air. Long approached Ling slowly, savouring the smell of fear he felt from Ling.
Ling’s talismans lined up into a formation in the sky, surrounding Long. “Die!” Ling said, then beams of light came out from inside the talismans and hit Long one by one. *Ding, ding, ding, ding* The laser beam bounced off of Long’s red mana coating, but eventually, one of them managed to break through. Long screamed in pain; he hatefully glared at Ling. Ling flinched from Long’s intense glare as she unknowingly stepped back.
Long appeared right in front of Ling in a flash. He grabbed Ling by her neck, trying to choke the life out of her.
