Just before Li Qiye’s spear was about to stab Long, an energy blade interrupted Li Qiye, swatting his spear away. “What are you doing on the floor, Long?” Eru quipped while winking his left eye. Long got Eru’s hint, then he got up immediately before retreating. “You!” Li Qiye glared at Eru. “How dare you interrupt me!” Li Qiye snarled. Li Qiye brandished his spear; he rushed headlong towards Eru while at the same time flaring up his dark yellow aura. Li Qiye’s spear clashed with Eru’s black sword, creating sparks flying everywhere.
“You angered me! Although I should be grateful that you killed that despicable bastard, you interrupted my fun. For that alone, you must die!” Li Qiye twirled his spear; he moved his spear in a circular motion before stabbing towards Eru. Li Qiye’s spear missed his target due to the timely dodge from Eru. Eru sidestepped, and he instantly slashed downwards. Li Qiye quickly blocked Eru’s slash, their weapon clashed once again.
Both Eru and Li Qiye got pushed back due to the clash of power between both of them. Eru slid on the ground while Li Qiye did a flip to stabilize himself. Li Qiye stared at Eru in amazement, “Amazing. You’re way stronger than your friend”, Li Qiye’s complimented. Li Qiye then held his spear upright, “I decided”, he held his head high, “You’re worthy of facing me.” Eru looked at Li Qiye, thinking if he was a weirdo, ‘Is this guy right in the head? A real-life chuunibyou, great’, he thought to himself while getting into a stance.
“I, Li Qiye, deemed you worthy to die by my spear!” Li Qiye spoke arrogantly before charging at Eru. He arrived in front of Eru in a flash. Li Qiye thrust his spear at Eru, but Eru easily deflected Li Q’ye’s spear. Eru and Li Qiye clashed their attacks repeatedly, locking themselves in a deadlock. Both Eru and Li Qiye seemed to be evenly matched as Li Qiye’s spear met Eru’s black sword, sending sparks all over the place. Eru’s raven-coloured aura clashed with Li Qiye’s dark yellow aura, slightly decimating their surroundings.
Li Qiye coated his spear with his dark yellow aura before thrusting his spear at Eru. Eru frowned; he nimbly dodged Li Qiye’s aura coated spear by slightly ducking forward. Li Qiye’s thrust decimated the environment behind Eru as he retaliates by stabbing upwards with his black sword. Li Qiye barely dodged Eru’s stab before backing away, shocked. “Tch”, Li Qiye clicked his tongue before letting out a grin, “Haha”, he chuckled, “You’re good, very good. It has been a long time since I had a really worthy opponent to go all out against.”
Li Qiye stomped his spear on the ground; he let out his aura before it spiralled out around him. Li Qiye then compressed his aura thin, coating his entire body with dark yellow aura. Li Qiye pointed the tip of his spear towards Eru, “Prepare yourself!” Li Qiye took a stance before charging towards Eru. Eru instantly propped his black sword up, facing Li Qiye’s charge; Eru planted his feet firm. Eru felt that Li Qiye’s power was increased after he released and condensed his aura as Eru was slightly sent sliding backwards.
Seeing this, Li Qiye let out a smirk as he sent out a few more attacks towards Eru. “Hahaha, where is your previous confidence, huh?” Li Qiye provoked as he continued to pummel Eru with his spear. Eru gritted his teeth; he did his best to fend off Li Qiye’s barrage of attack. However, Eru’s current best wasn’t enough. Li Qiye kept pushing Eru back until he eventually landed a nice clean cut on Eru’s chest. But, how could Li Qiye stop there? Li Qiye did not relent on his attack, forcing Eru to turtle against Li Qiye’s spear.
Eru continued to soak up the pressure coming from Li Qiye as he waited for his chance to counterattack. Li Qiye laughed maniacally as he continued to pilled up his attacks on Eru. Li Qiye’s dark yellow aura followed his attacks and eventually made Eru bleed from his mouth. ‘How did he do it? Is it similar to my Eruken? No, I think it’s more gentle. His technique rose him up one level while Eruken doubled my power. But, if I could understand how his technique work, maybe I could improve Eruken’, Eru thought in his head while defending against Li Qiye’s attacks.
Then, Eru saw Li Qiye grin as he winded up for a big attack. “Now!” Eru’s eyes flashed; he used the small opening Li Qiye brought to him to get out from Li Qiye’s pressure. Eru dashed forward; he knew that he would be at a disadvantage against a spear at its reach, so Eru closed Li Qiye down using the opportunity presented to him. Eru kicked Li Qiye by the torso before letting out a three-hit combo. Eru slashed diagonally twice at Li Qiye before finishing it off with a thrust. Li Qiye’s managed to dodge two of Eru’s attacks, but the third attack from Eru was able to slightly graze Li Qiye in the cheek.
After Eru’s attack landed on Li Qiye, the latter frowned, and his eyes turned more serious. Li Qiye’s aura rose, becoming even more potent. “Excellent, your swordplay is quite good. In all my lifetime, you can rank on the top 20 swordmasters that I have ever faced. Be proud!” Li Qiye declared before launching himself at Eru, sending attacks and attacks at him. Eru waved his hand on the ground, “Explosion”, he yelled as a blast of fire slightly held back Li Qiye’s advance.
Li Qiye was startled, “You can use magic, too? Amazing, amazing. In all my lifetime, only two people can use aura alongside magic. You’re the third!” he declared. But, before Li Qiye was about to charge at Eru, a raven-coloured aura gathered around him, increasing as seconds went by. “Eruken!” Eru raven-coloured aura exploded, his power rose, and his pressure matched Li Qiye. Li Qiye’s eyes widened, “You continue to surprise me, young man. Hahahaha! To think that somebody could use a technique similar to mine, amazing, amazing!” Eru then tried what Li Qiye did.
Eru started by condensing and compressing his aura until it eventually coated his entire body. Eru managed to copy Li Qiye but was only capable of small success. ‘Huh, it lessened the burden for my body’, Eru felt it clearly. Then, Eru pointed his black sword at Li Qiye, “Round two!” Eru yelled. “Come!” Li Qiye challenged in excitement as he readied up his spear.

Ling stomped her feet in frustration. “Damn those two fuckers! Leaving me alone around the villagers… Might as well kill me right now”, she complained. “Thankfully, someone managed to bring me out from that sea of people, or I could be drowned by them”, Ling shuddered when she recalled the curious looks from the children and the adoring looks from the adult. Right now, Ling was walking towards the Village Chief’s house. “What kind of Village Chief live on a separate area from the village?” Ling shook her head.
Suddenly, Ling heard someone approaching her fast. She immediately readied herself. Pulling out her talismans, Ling observed her surrounding warily. Then, Ling eventually saw a silhouette of a man was walking towards her, holding his arm, seemingly injured. When that silhouette came closer, Ling made out that the man was Long. “What happened to you?” Ling asked while holding Long, preventing him from falling over. “The Village Chief—The Village Chief and Lan Di, they set us up”, Long explained while holding his pain.
“What!?” Ling’s eyes widened in surprise, “And where’s Eru?” Long pursed his lips, “He’s still up there; please go and help him. We have not recovered yet!” he informed. Ling debated for a while but decided to shake her head, “No, we need to get you to safety first. Let’s go to the village, and I’ll send a message to the Adventurers Guild, asking for backup.”

“Come in”, Taiboku said while he flipped the pages from the report on his desk. A beautiful woman entered Taiboku’s office. She bowed towards Taiboku, “I’m sorry, sir, but there’s urgent news”, she informed. “What is it?” Taiboku’s eyebrow raised as the beautiful woman caught Taiboku’s attention. “Moku’s life stone has shattered”, the beautiful woman said; her whole body trembled. Taiboku stood up; his power rose, emitting a terrifying pressure, “What did you say? Moku’s died?” Then, Taiboku pursed his lips. He scoffed, “Damn it, what about that old monster? Where is he?”
“We don’t know yet. But, our people have been dispatched towards the village”, the beautiful woman reported. Taiboku sat down. He rested his head on his hand, “Who’s coming there?”
“Xu Zhu”
Taiboku’s expression turned better after hearing the beautiful woman’s words. He sighed, “Good. I’m proud to have you guys as a subordinate. Now, get out; I need to think!” Taiboku barked. When the beautiful woman left his office, Taiboku gritted his teeth, “Fuck! If that old thing managed to escape, my position would be in jeopardy”, he mumbled while his fist clenched tight.
