Chapter 131: Chapter 131
“That Sydney woman was looking for you earlier”, Long informed.
“Oh, yeah?” Eru replied while drying his hair, “Where is she now?” Long pointed, “She’s still at the tent.” Eru looked over, “They haven’t left yet?” Long shook his head, “No. They said they wanted to wait for you.” Eru nodded, “Okay, I’ll go there in a second.”
After preparing himself, Eru approached Duncan’s tent. As he did, a little boy waved his hand, “Over here, brother Eru!” Damian said with a huge smile on his face. Eru lips curled up, “Good morning, Damian. How’s the night?” Eru rubbed Damian’s little head. Damian pouted, “I tidied my hair earlier.” Eru chuckled, “That’s what you get for being too adorable.” Damian pouted even more, “I’m not a child.” Eru smiled, “Yeah, yeah, you’re not a child.” While Damian and Eru conversed with each other, Duncan and Diane came out from their tent.
Upon seeing their son was talking with Eru, both Duncan and Diane let out a smile, “Good morning, Mr Eru”, they greeted. Eru nodded, “Good morning.” Both Duncan and Diane bowed, “Thank you for saving us yesterday”, they said simultaneously. Eru waved his hand, “No, no, I did not do much.” Duncan raised his head, he laughed heartily, “Don’t be modest, Mr Eru. Sydney had already told us what happened yesterday. If we did not thank you, what would we become?”
Diane nodded, “As a token of gratitude, please accept this” Diane extended her hand. “What is this?” Eru received an emblem with the motive of an eagle. “Like my wife said, this is a token of our gratitude. When you arrive at Sylphid City, if you have any trouble, show the guards there this emblem,” Duncan explained, “Oh, and don’t forget to visit us.” Eru nodded, “Sure.” Duncan laughed, “Oh, and Sydney had been waiting for you. Usually, we can’t stay for too long but for someone as strong as you to be willing to teach my head guard is a rare opportunity. I hope that you can stay for another day.”
“Don’t worry, this won’t take long”, Eru said as he walked to where Sydney was. Behind the guard’s tent, Sydney sat with her knees touching the ground, waiting for Eru to arrive. Upon feeling something from the ground, Sydney opened her eyes, “So, you’ve come”, she said. Eru sighed, “Quit acting so mysterious” Eru rolled his eyes. Sydney got up from her sitting position, “What part of that is mysterious?” she shook her head, “So, what are we going to do now?”
Eru drew his black sword, “Draw your sword!” he pointed Buddy at Sydney, “I want to know your power level before I start teaching you.” With a shrill, Sydney drew her sword and strapped her shield in her hand, “I’m ready.” Eru held the black sword with his right hand; he turned his body sideways and put his left hand behind his back, “Come.” Sydney gritted her teeth; she flared up her aura, revealing her prowess as a 1st Grade Aura Master. “Yaaaah!” with a shout, Sydney charged towards Eru. She swung her sword left and right, trying to hit Eru.
However, Eru skillfully parried all of Sydney’s attacks using minimal effort and movements. ‘Hmm, not bad. Not only her attacks are precise and powerful, she knew exactly where to place her next attacks’, Eru thought while fending off Sydney’s attacks. “Flare up your aura even more! I want to see your full power”, Eru shouted. Sydney grunted; she jumped backwards, distancing herself from Eru. “Ha!” with a shout, Sydney’s aura continued to climb until it eventually reached her peak. Sydney’s aura began to glow gold, and her aura started to spiral around Sydney in an orderly manner.
“Hooh, not bad, not bad. Now, come again!” Eru slightly raised his head. “Here I come” Sydney yelled a battle cry; she coated her sword with her aura as she charged towards Eru. After she flared up her aura, Sydney’s attack became even sharper and faster. Because of that, Eru was forced to use his own aura to fend off Sydney’s attack. “Good. Apply a little more force to your swing. Rotate your hips more, reduce your step in and plant your feet to the ground more”, Eru said while hitting Sydney with the back of his sword.
Sydney gritted her teeth; she felt unresigned when she saw Eru was handling her so effortlessly. Sydney bit her lips in frustration, ‘I know he is strong, but to think the difference between us is this much.’ Then, when Sydney was swinging her sword downwards, Eru locked his black sword with Sydney’s sword, twirling it before disarming Sydney. “And that’s that”, Eru sheathed his black sword away, “Now I know where to teach you.” Sydney pursed her lips before letting out a sigh, “I’m in your care”, she bowed towards Eru.

Noon came; Eru stood watching Sydney meditate under a tree. “And with that, we’re done”, Eru said, leaving Sydney alone to train. As he left, Eru could see Long was standing at their campsite, “Ready to leave, brother Eru?” he asked. Eru nodded, “Yeah. Just have to say goodbye to Duncan and his family.” Then, Eru and Long proceeded to pack up their stuff, starting with the tent and ending with the barrel. Long waved his hands, the barrel shrunk, then Long put the now shrunken barrel into his backpack.
After packing their stuff, Eru and Long said goodbye to Duncan and his family. Damian slightly teared up, but when Long, of all people, cheered him up, promising the young boy to visit him someday, Damian then let out a big smile. Eru and Long waved their hands at Duncan and his family before leaving the campsite.
“To the south, we go.”

Gale Territory
While Eru and Long were on their journey towards Sylphid Coast, Sylphid City, the conflict between Governor Eli’s faction and the Dark Heavens intensified. The Dark Heavens that previously hiding no longer did so. Instead, the northern Gale and the western Gale’s representative, the Xu family and the Wei family came out and publicly supported the Dark Heavens. After that, Governor Eli’s faction tightened its influence on central, southern and eastern Gale.
Inside Tailwind City Governor Office, a man with grey hair stood before a sitting Governor Eli while holding a stack of papers in his hands. “How was the situation with the Liu, Cao and the Sun clan?” Governor Eli asked. Sun Jian put the stack of papers down onto Governor Eli’s desk, “It’s going well. The Liu Clan was willing to support us unconditionally, but the Cao Clan and the Sun Clan needed some persuading.”
“Good”, Governor Eli nodded, “Nothing shall stand in our way, not even the fabled Dark Heavens of old.” Sun Jian put his fist on his chest, “For our glory.” Governor Eli followed suit, “For independence!”

After walking for almost half a day, Eru and Long finally arrived right in front of a huge city. The city wall was painted grey and turquoise blue, decorated with glass made of a special material only found on Sylphid Coast, prismarine. Coupled with that, the road leading into the city was made of similar material from the glass. The contrast between the crystal clear prismarine and the marbles of aquamarine plus the addition of grey bricks really made the road pop off even more. “What a beautiful entrance….” Eru marvelled. Long nodded in agreement, “I agree. For something that humans make, this wasn’t too bad.”
Eru and Long stood behind a long queue into the city, which was guarded by two soldiers in front of the gate and two soldiers carrying long cylinder weapons strapped on their backs. After waiting for a while, the queue thinned quite a lot, making Eru and Long just a few people short from the front queue. When Eru arrived in front of the soldiers, the latter eyed Eru from head to toe, “Id, please”, the soldier said. “Would an adventurers handbook okay?” Eru asked. The soldier nodded, “Anything to prove your identity is fine.” Eru took out his adventurers handbook and handed it to the soldier.
The soldier began to check Eru’s adventurers’ handbook, flipping it page by page. When he saw multiple signatures from the guild masters of various adventurers guild branches, the soldier’s eyes shot wide open. “I’m sorry for the disrespect, sir”, the soldier’s body perked up, and he put his hand across his chest, “Please, come in. I’m very sorry for making you wait for so long.” Eru was confused; he stared at the soldier in disbelief, “Uh, okay, I did not wait that long. But, why are you acting like this?”
“What do you mean, sir?” the soldier slightly tilted his head, “Serving a future S class adventurers is a privilege for us, soldiers.” Eru frowned, “S class?” Just before Eru managed to ask another question, the gate to the city broke down, and a man was sent flying outside.
“Say that again to me, bastard!” a woman with long-blonde hair said, stomping the ground with her feet.
