Chapter 133: Chapter 133
With a ding, the lift’s door opened automatically, revealing a long and open hallway with a single door right at the end. The hallway was quite empty, but there were purple stips of ribbons tied together with yellow ribbons on the wall. “We’re here”, May informed before she exited the lift slowly. “Please, follow me”, May said as Eru followed right behind her. Upon arriving in front of the door, May gently knocked on the door with her left hand, “Excuse me, guild master. There’s someone here for you.”
After waiting for a hot minute, May and Eru did not receive an answer from behind the door, “Uh, is the guild master not present?” Eru asked. May shook her head, “He’s here alright. But our guild master is a bit strange. Please don’t be alarmed when you meet him.”
May and Eru continued to wait for a few seconds more until eventually, Eru heard a familiar voice coming from behind the door. “Please come in, my dear May”, the guild master’s voice echoes in the open hallway. May smiled wryly, “Sure”, she sighed, “Please prepare yourself, Mr Eru”, she warned.s When May opened the door, Eru saw a familiar person sitting beside the window with a pose that reminded Eru of a certain statue back on Earth.
“Welcome to my humble abode, my dear guest”, the man with a goatee said with a grin, “Please sit and rest your weary legs on the couch.” The man with a goatee then poured himself a cup of red wine before sitting at his glorified seat. “What’s wrong, my friend?” the man with a goatee asked; he waved his hand, “Please, sir, sit”, he invited. Eru slightly glanced at May, and the latter sighed. May sat first, followed by Eru, “So, to what do I owe the pleasure?” the guild master asked while twirling his glass of wine.
“It’s this, guild master”, May said as she handed Eru’s adventurers’ handbook to the guild master. “An Adventurers Handbook?” the guild master asked as he received the handbook before flipping it around. The guild master took his time to properly examine the adventurers’ handbook in his hands. After a while, the guild master closed the handbook and handed it back to Eru. The guild master took a sip from the glass of wine, “Mr Eru, was it?” the guild master asked. Eru nodded, “And, what about you?” The guild master frowned, “What about me?”
“What’s your name?” Eru inquired, “Isn’t it kind of rude for you not to introduce yourself while you snoop around my name?” May shook her head while the guild master let out a laugh, “Fair enough”, the guild master leaned back on his chair, “My name is Alexandro, the guild master of the Adventurers Guild Sylphid branch.”
“Nice to have your acquaintance”, Eru slightly bowed. “Haha, you too”, Alexandro chuckled; he crossed his legs, “Right, back to where we were.” Alexandro took another sip of his wine, “So, Mr Eru, you are on the adventurers’ pilgrimage, huh?” he shook his head, “I never thought that someone would go through another adventurers pilgrimage in my whole life.” After hearing Alexandro’s words, Eru’s interest was piqued, “Another? Is there someone besides me that went all through these troubles?” Alexandro nodded with a smile, “Yeah, there is one other person besides you that done the Adventurers Pilgrimage.”
“Oh, yeah? Who?”
“You’ll meet him later at the capital. For now, We need to figure out how we should deal with your pilgrimage”, Alexandro said. “Hmm? What do you mean?” Eru raised his eyebrow. “Well, usually we give the adventurers that on their pilgrimage a mission that would help said specific branch”, Alexandro explained. He added, “But, right now, we, from Sylphid City Adventurers Guild branch, does not have anything for you to do. Yeah, we have regular quests to complete but nothing that would help our branch tremendously.”
“What do I do now?” Eru frowned. Alexandro flashed a smile, “You don’t need to worry. I’m sure we could find something for you to do. Meanwhile, why don’t you live here while we figure out your quest?” Alexandro suggested, “Miss May here will help you with your living commodities while you are here, isn’t that right, May?” Eru turned his head towards May, and May nodded at Eru while smiling, “Of course, it would be my pleasure.” Eru sighed, “Ok, fine. Then, where shall I live for the time being?”
Alexandro’s lips curled up into a big smile, “Excellent”, he clapped, “Miss May, please, will you lead him on?” May stood up before bowing politely, “As you command”, she walked near the door before opening it gently, “This way, Mr Eru.” After that, May led Eru towards the lift before the door to the guild master’s room closed automatically. Alexandro was seen inside of his office while elegantly holding a glass of wine. “Are they gone yet?” Alexandro sensed his surroundings as he breathed a sigh of relief, “Phew, I’m glad that they’re gone.”
After saying that, Alexandro coughed, “Damn it! Freaking alcohol! I always hated these things, always making my mouth parched”, he said as he vomited out the wine that he had drank earlier. Alexandro threw away his wine glass and put away the wine bottle. He unbuttoned the top of his shirt before laying lazily on the couch. His previous elegant demeanour was gone, and replacing it was the demeanour of a clumsy middle-aged man. “Why did I even bother doing this acting and charade?” Alexandro sighed; he stretched his arms, “And I have to act like this for the foreseeable future as well.”
Alexandro closed his eyes, “What a drag.”

May led Eru into the 3rd floor of the Adventurers Guild’s building. With a ding, the lift stopped, and the door opened automatically. There, Eru saw a crowded scene filled with people in different kinds of garments. “Oh”, Eru slightly gasped. “Surprised?” May grinned, “Welcome to our very own Adventurers Pub.” Eru observed his surroundings, finding that it was a familiar sight to him. “Ah, I remember”, Eru muttered, “Borea City Adventurers Guild’s branch had something similar.” Although Eru spoke softly, May managed to hear what Eru had to say, “Really? Bummer, I thought we’re the only branch that had a pub inside.”
“This is definitely grander”, Eru said while looking around. “Come on, we don’t want to get stuck inside the lift, right?” May smiled. When Eru and May exited the lift, they were stopped by a bald, burly looking man. “Yo, May!” the bald man greeted, “Want to drink right now?” May smiled while shaking her head, “Unfortunately, I can’t. I need to show him around.” The bald man scrutinized his eyes towards Eru, “This wimpy kid?” he raised his eyebrow. “So what if I’m a wimpy kid?” Eru challenged with a smirk.
Eru and the bald man was locked gaze, making the atmosphere change, drawing the attention of others adventurers in the area. May was flustered; she jumped between Eru and the bald man, “Deddy, don’t be rude! And Mr Eru, please stop provoking others”, she said, her tone high. But, what May did was not diminish the tension between Eru and Deddy, the bald man. As the tension intensified, more and more people began crowding Eru, Deddy and May. “What do we have here?” a woman with long, red hair, slightly tanned skin and skimpy clothing said. She had scars all over her body, and she emanated a wild aura.
“You’re hazing the new guy again, Deddy?” the red-haired woman teased. “What’s it to you, Cina?” Deddy hissed, “What I’m doing is not something that you should be involved in.” Cina, the red-haired woman, raised her hands, “Alright, alright. Do whatever you want. But don’t complain to me when the guild master chewed you out again.” Deddy smirked, “Hah, that’s the way it should be. Whoever wants to stop me, stepped forward!” he barked. Most adventurers over there turned their heads, avoiding Deddy’s eyes. “That’s what I thought!” Deddy smirked.
As a senior adventurer and one of the guild’s stronger members, Deddy was a local bully that not many people wanted to be involved in. The reason for that was that Deddy always hazed the newcomers, and whenever they fought back, Deddy used his connection with the government to hinder them in life as Deddy was the middle-son of Sylphid City’s mayor. “Now, you skimpy wimp! Grovel and apologize, and I might forgive you for this”, Deddy said with a smirk. Eru let out a mocking smile, “Hah, spoken like a true weakling.”
“What did you say, you little punk!?” Deddy barked, he tried grabbing Eru’s collar, but the latter did not budge. “What the—” Deddy eye’s widened, “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?” Eru provoked the bald man in front of him even more, causing Deddy’s veins to pop up. Deddy threw a punch towards Eru. And as it slowly came near Eru’s face, the latter kept smiling and letting Deddy’s punch hit Eru’s face.
