Deddy was a local bully that few people wanted to be involved in. The reason for that was that Deddy always hazed the newcomers, and whenever they fought back, Deddy used his connection with the government to hinder them in life as Deddy was the middle-son of Sylphid City’s mayor. Many had been his victim, and Deddy was always looking for more. “Now, you skimpy wimp! Grovel and apologize! Lick my shoes, and maybe, maybe I would forgive you”, Deddy commanded with a smirk.
Eru let out a mocking smile; he saw people like this in most novels he read back on Earth, but Eru never thought he would meet one in real life. “Hah, spoken like a true weakling”, Eru provoked the bald man, even more, drawing more ire from Deddy. The onlookers watched the bickering between Eru and Deddy with amusement. They thought that another newcomer would be crushed again by the unparalleled might of Deddy’s connection.
“What did you say, you little punk!?” Deddy barked, he tried grabbing Eru’s collar, but the latter did not budge. “What the—” Deddy eye’s widened. One had to know, although Deddy was a bully, he had the strength and connection to back them up. If not, how could Deddy be in contention for the strongest adventurers from Sylphid City? “What’s wrong? Cat got your tongue?” Eru provoked the bald man in front of him even more, causing Deddy’s veins to pop up.
“Why, you punk!” Deddy roared before he threw a punch towards Eru. And as it slowly came near Eru’s face, the latter kept smiling and letting Deddy’s punch hit Eru’s face.
*BOOM*
Deddy’s fist landed cleanly on Eru’s cheek. However, instead of doing damage or sending Eru flying, Eru just stood still with a smug grin on his face, “That’s it?” he said. “You!” Deddy’s face was red with anger as aura started to gather around him. “Oh, you want to do it for real?” Eru raised his eyebrow with his lips slightly curled up into a mocking smile. Just before the conflict between Eru and Deddy could escalate any further, they felt strong mana gushing near them.
“Stop it!” May yelled; her mana was spiralling all over the place, slightly displacing Eru and Deddy from their positions. Eru had a look of surprise on his face while Deddy just frowned, “If you want to fight, don’t do it here! Do you know how expensive it was replacing all the furniture when you guys fought!?” May complained. Deddy scoffed, “You’re lucky, punk!” he said as he turned around. “What? You scared?” Eru said, “Only that and you back away? You really are a weakling”, he continued to provoke Deddy.
“You bastard!” Deddy turned back; his full prowess as a 2nd Grade Aura Master was fully displayed. Deddy drew the blade on his back and swung it down towards Eru. “Stop it!” May tried to stop Deddy, but she was too late. There was one woman who’s not late, however, and that was Cina, the red-haired lady from earlier.
*BOOM*
The clash between Deddy’s blade and Cina’s sabre reverberated throughout the whole floor. “Don’t get in my way, woman!” Deddy said with bloodshot eyes. Cina had blood dripping from her mouth, “May here was right. Don’t fight on this floor. If you two really wanted to fight, go fight in the training hall. At least there, there won’t be any damages to other people here.” The bald man clicked his tongue, “Tch”, he glared at Eru hatefully, “If you have balls, follow me to the basement. We’ll settle things there.”
Deddy walked towards the lift, pressing the button as the door opened automatically. Just as Deddy was about to go in, Eru sent an aura blast towards Deddy, sending him flying towards the lift, “Wait for me there”, Eru grinned. The lift’s door closed, leaving a fuming bald man inside the lift alone. The rest of the adventurers all looked at Eru with mixed emotions. Some looked at him with pity, some looked at him with admiration, and some looked at him with amusement. “You’re quite brave for a newcomer”, Cina said with a smile after she wiped the blood from her mouth, “You know he’s the son of the mayor, right?”
“So?” Eru raised his eyebrow, “Even if he’s the son of the king himself, I wouldn’t be afraid of a guy who liked to blabbed around”, he said nonchalantly. May stomped her foot; she looked at Eru with condescending eyes, “It’s your mess now. Go towards the basement and clean them up.” Eru chuckled, “Sure, sure” Eru pressed the button, “Any rules I should follow? I could kill him, right?” May pursed her lips, “Of course, you can’t! Fine, I’ll follow you down. I’ll make sure you two don’t kill each other.”
Eru shrugged his shoulders, “Suit yourself.”

Upon arriving in the basement, Eru found that the training hall here greatly resembled the one from Gale. Eru looked at his surroundings, “Uhm, how did they get here so fast?” Eru pointed at the crowd by the side. Cina let out a slight chuckle, “The stairs, of course”, she said as she pointed her fingers on the stairs up north. After exiting the lift, May immediately stepped outside, “Just clean up your mess.” Eru shrugged; he shook his head, “You know I’m not the one that started this, right?” May just scoffed at this before walking away.
“I don’t think she liked me that much”, Eru muttered. “Don’t mind her. Although she looked innocent and kind, her father is in cahoots with the mayor,” Cina explained, “And those two are childhood friends.” Eru had a look of realization on his face, “So that’s why….” Cina nodded, “Yup. Although May knew what her friend did was wrong, thanks to her relationship with Deddy, she turned a blind eye to his bullying. Aside from that, she’s an alright woman.”
Then, Eru saw that May approached Deddy, telling him that Eru had come. “You’ve finally come, runt!” Deddy barked, “Now, come here, and I’ll beat you to a pulp!” Eru stepped forward, but Cina held him by his shoulder, “Be careful, Deddy is very strong”, she warned. Eru flashed a smile, “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be fine.” Eru’s smile, coupled with his handsome face, made Cina slightly blush. “Hah, how cute—” Eru said. “What cute?” Deddy frowned. “That you waited to get your ass kicked”, Eru smirked.
“Hah, you’re the one who would get his ass kicked”, Deddy said, pointing his blade at Eru, “Prepare yourself!” Deddy yelled; he instantly disappeared and appeared right in front of Eru. “Take this!” Deddy swung his massive blade with one hand. Eru swiftly took out his black sword from its scabbard. He skillfully parried Deddy’s strike, sending his blade straight to the ground. But, Deddy was not finished yet; he raised his large blade, spinning it around his head before sending a barrage of strikes towards Eru.
“Your techniques are all over the place”, Eru stated while easily dodging Deddy’s attacks. Deddy kept swinging his blade, trying to hit Eru. “It’s futile”, Eru smirked, “With your techniques, it will take a hundred years before you could even scratch my face.” Deddy was annoyed, ‘Damn it! This guy is not all talk. To think that this runt could avoid all my attacks,’ he thought inside of his head, ‘Let me see how this runt can handle my full power.’ Then, Deddy swung his massive blade, and when Eru was not expecting it, Deddy sent an aura blade towards Eru.
Caught off guard, Eru stepped backwards, avoiding the vertical energy blade that Deddy sent to Eru. After Eru got back to his feet, he saw Deddy was gathering his aura, flaring it up to the max. “Haaah”, Deddy brandished his blade, coating his entire body with his purple-coloured aura. “Die!” Deddy instantly charged towards Eru, with his blade held up high and his body brimming with power. Deddy’s prowess as a 2nd Grade Aura Master was fully visible. His purple-coloured aura tangled with each other while Deddy swung down his massive blade towards Eru.
Eru had an excited smile on his face, “That’s the way! Come, show me your true power!” The clash between Deddy and Eru continued with Deddy being on the offensive and Eru being on the defensive. However, if one looked closely, Deddy was panting hard, sweat protruding from all over his body while Eru was still cool, calmly evading and parrying Deddy’s attack. Deddy’s attack caused the training hall to be devastated slightly. “Hahaha”, Eru laughed, “More, more! Unleash your power more!”
“Tch, bastard!” Deddy clicked his tongue, pushing his body to the max; Deddy continued to flare up his aura. Deddy kept swinging his blade against Eru, but nothing was working for him. Eru was too skilful and too powerful for Deddy to fight, as Eru still treated this as a form of amusement. The clash between Deddy and Eru was ongoing until, eventually, Deddy panted heavily. Now, even the weaker onlookers could see that Deddy was severely outmatched and humiliated by Eru. Eru let out a mocking smile, “Is this all you’ve got?”
