Chapter 148: Chapter 148
“What about the seeds of abomination? You had your subordinate continue the plan, right? Did you not say that you will withdraw from Silvan Empire entirely?” Taiboku asked. Da Ji smirked; she twirled her finger on her beautiful, long hair, “I did”, she smiled mysteriously. “And? Aren’t you afraid of being punished by the higher up?”
Da Ji shook her head, “No. After all, I did pull out from Silvan Empire and lay low.” Taiboku stroked Da Ji’s smooth cheek once again, “Don’t speak like this to me. Tell me your plan, will you?” he asked gently. Da Ji giggled, “You’re no fun”, she said before distancing herself from Taiboku. Dai Ji sat on the sofa nearby, “You don’t need to worry, my darling”, Da Ji reassured, “After all, the one that carried on the operations is not my subordinate, but yours.” Taiboku’s eyes opened wide,
“You erased his mark!?”
Da Ji nodded, “Yes. That troublesome mark” Da Ji gritted her teeth. “I had to kill Zemel in order to erase his mark, then revive him before his soul left his body. Do you know how bothersome that is?” Taiboku chuckled, “I imagine it was really bothersome. Anyway, how’s the progress on the seeds of abomination?” Da Ji let out a radiant smile, which seemed seductive in Taiboku’s eyes, “It’s going well. Although Zemel did say that one of the carriers of abomination had his arm cut off.”
Taiboku furrowed his eyebrows, “Wasn’t that bad? From what you told me about the seeds of abomination, the carriers needed to have a complete body to complete?” Da Ji clicked her tongue, “It is bad, but one less complete abomination wouldn’t ruin our plans.” Taiboku shrugged his shoulders, “If you say so”, he said before snuggling closer towards his lover before giving her a kiss, “Let’s do it”, Taiboku whispered gently to Da Ji’s ear, his hand slowly slithered towards Da Ji’s ample breast, squeezing it, causing the latter to tremble from head to toe.

Tailwind City, Government Office
Governor Eli looked at the paperwork in front of his eyes, “Did you double-check this?” he asked, his eyes squinting. The one standing before him, his reliable ally, Sun Jian, nodded, “Yes sir, all the documents on your hands all are correct.” Governor Eli nodded his head, “Good, so the preparations are going smoothly then” Governor Eli put down the papers in his hands, “Any dates on when he will come?” Sun Jian shook his head, “No, sir. Guildmaster Ling told us her master will come soon, but the exact date on when he will arrive is still unknown to us”, he reported.
Governor Eli rested his chin on his hands, “Hmm, we cannot wait for Guildmaster Ling’s master to arrive”, he paused. Governor Eli took a deep breath, “Please tell our people we will make a move tomorrow. We strike while the iron is hot”, he commanded calmly. “Yes, sir!” Sun Jian saluted before leaving Governor Eli’s office. After Sun Jian left, the governor closed his hands together, “I hope this will succeed. No, it will succeed; I’ll make sure of it” Governor Eli’s eyes glowed with determination.

While all of those were happening behind the scene, Eru was blissfully unaware as he and the male guard arrived at the Adventurers Guild building. “You can wait here while I gather my stuff”, Eru said, but before he entered the building, Eru looked back towards the guard, “Unless you wanted to come in with me.” The male guard shook his head, “No need, sir. I will wait here for your arrival”, he said. Eru shrugged his shoulders, “Alright, suit yourself.”
When Eru entered the Adventurers Building, he was greeted by a different receptionist, “Welcome to the— Oh, it’s you”, she said, recognizing Eru with a single glance, “Done sightseeing?” Eru nodded, “No, just needed to grab a few things.” The receptionist nodded, “Oh, have a great night out then”, she said with a smile. Eru quickly gathered the necessary things in his room, but before he exited his room, he hesitated slightly when he was about to pick up his backpack. Eru then shook his head, “Yeah, let’s take it”, he said as he strapped the backpack onto his back.
Eru went down towards the exit, and on the way there, he met many people that recognized him from before. Eru was greeted by numerous adventurers, ‘Is this what it feels like being a celebrity?’ he thoughts, feeling uncomfortable. As he arrived in the lobby, Eru found a different receptionist behind the counter. “Ah, going out, aren’t we, Mr Eru?” the male receptionist inquired with a smile. “Uh, yeah”, Eru said, then he walked towards the door, stopping before it and turning his body, “Uhm, excuse me, but how many receptionists that you guys have?” Eru curiously asked.
“What makes you ask that, Mr Eru?”
Eru scratched his chin, “I mean, just this day I’ve seen three different receptionists standing behind that corner. It just feels weird, that’s all”, Eru explained. “Oh, that”, the male receptionist smiled, “We had three-shift; one person worked in the morning, one person worked for the day, and one other person worked at night.”
“You guys have so much manpower?” Eru’s eyes widened in surprise after hearing what the receptionist had said. “Of course”, the male receptionist smiled, “Being an adventurer is a popular job after all. And since being an adventurer involved passing a test, many that failed were offered a job being a worker within the guild. Of course, it’s not just those who failed; retired adventurers also were offered a job as well.” Eru rubbed his chin, “Is that so? Huh, it’s interesting. Thank you for answering my question.”
“Your welcome”, the male receptionist said as he watched Eru leave the building with a backpack strapped on his back. The male receptionist rubbed his chin with a cheeky grin on his face, “Huh, I guess he will not stay here for the night. Ah, youth”, he said, his thoughts astray.

Eru and the male guard arrived at the D/D building. However, since it was now nighttime, the mall was bustling with activities as the people that worked at the governmental, the docks or other places were already finished from their works. “Is it always like this?” Eru frowned, looking at the bustling scene in front of him. The male guard sighed, “Unfortunately, yes”, he said, “Follow me, please.”
Then, Eru was led by the male guard into the back of the D/D building, where there was a visible yet inaccessible garden for the public. “Where are we going?” Eru asked; curiosity was visible in his eyes as his eyes darted everywhere. “Through the back door”, the male guard answered, “This path was only used at night or when the building is so packed by people.” Eru then saw the male guard take out a small crystal from his pockets before placing it right beside a lamp post in the middle of the building.
After that, the small crystal lit up, and a hidden passage was opened. The hidden passage led to a visible outpost where two guards were stationed there. “A secret passage, eh”, Eru whistled, “As you would expect from a rich guy like Duncan.” The male guard smiled wryly, “Actually, this path is not a secret at all”, the male guard explained, “It was widely known by the public that the back garden was the private and main entrance and exit to Master Duncan’s house. It’s just that Master Duncan had a peculiar taste in how his entrance should look like.”
The male guard led Eru inside as the hidden passageway door closed behind them. “Hello, you two”, the male guard greeted. “Come this way, the elevator has been prepared”, said one of the guards. The male guard nodded, and he led Eru inside the door, revealing a cubic space that looked a lot like a lift back on Earth to Eru. “This is like on the Adventurers Guild?” Eru asked. The male guard nodded, “It’s the same model. After all, the lift was made in combination with Sylphid Academy and our D/D”, he explained.
The lift took Eru and the male guard right in front of the manor’s main entrance, where the long elevator was located. After that, Eru was led inside by the male guard, and once they were inside, the male guard spoke to one of the staff inside the manor before turning towards Eru, “My job ended here, Mr Eru. If you need anything, please speak to him. It has been a pleasure accompanying you”, he said, leaving Eru alone with a young male servant. The young servant had short, blue hair with facial features that one would define as common.
“Right this way, please, sir”, the young male servant led Eru towards his room. “If you ever need anything, please push the button right below the light switch”, the young male servant bowed politely before leaving Eru in his room. Eru observed his room, finding that it was quite expensive. “Yes, expensive is the right word I would use to describe the room” Eru rubbed his chin. Eru removed his backpack, throwing it right on the massive king-sized bed before laying there himself.
“Now, what?”
