Chapter 151: Chapter 151
“I have to find a chance to do this. If I miss, I would be in trouble”, Eru said to himself as he steeled himself and observed the six-pronged star formation. Then, as one of the figures clad in black broke off from the six-pronged star formation, the moment that the formation was about to change into the fife-pronged star formation, Eru’s eyes flashed. He extended his hand up front and chanted, “Explosions!” Eru shouted. That’s right, Eru remembered that he still had the system by his side.
Eru had, for the most part, forgotten about the system as it was more fun for him to learn new stuff by training and learning about it on his own. And there’s something that the sleazy old man, the Demon King, told Eru before that the system, the power of Fate Master, was not fully his. Not willing to become stronger, to grow stronger from a borrowed power due to Eru’s experience from his previous life, he chose to continuously ignore the Fate Master system within him. Although Eru wanted to use magic so much, as the first thing he did after obtaining the system was learn a spell, he refused to use it since then.
However, Eru was not shortsighted enough that he did not use the thing that he learned earlier in his life. Eru had used his only spell, Explosion, multiple times in his life. With a bang, Eru’s spell exploded in the air, breaking the six-pronged star formation. As it exploded, Eru saw cracks appear in the air. “What is that? A barrier?” Eru pondered before the cracks broke completely.
The explosion spell Eru used was quite powerful as it engulfed both Eru and the multiple figures clad in complete back. The explosion also caused a crater to form on that spot, injuring both Eru and the multiple figures clad in black. With what Eru presumed was a barrier broken from Eru’s attack, the sound from the explosion spell Eru used resounded widely, attracting Duncan and his family and guards attention along with waking a sleeping red-haired dragon.
“What the hell was that!?” exclaimed one of the figures clad in black. “We have to get back into the formation”, said the other figures clad in black as he noticed that Eru was beginning to recover. Although the explosion was powerful, Eru and the multiple figures clad in black injuries were not so fatal that they prevented both Eru and the multiple figures clad in black to fight each other.
Eru hurriedly willed Buddy, that was sent flying back from the explosion into his hand. Eru prepared himself to fight, with a body full of injuries, facing against the multiple figures clad in black. However, just as the figures clad in black approached Eru, sounds of footsteps could be heard along with a shout from two people, one male and one female.
“Brother Eru/ Teacher!” both Long and Sydney rushed towards the kneeling Eru. Long held his iconic staff in his hand while Sydney held her sabre. Behind them, a group of Duncan’s personal guards led by a familiar dark-skinned old man, Jon, with Duncan wearing a complete set of armour behind them. “Mister Eru!” Duncan exclaimed as he saw Eru kneeling on the ground, facing against multiple figures clad in black. Anger rose within Duncan when he saw the state that Eru was in.
“You bastard!” Duncan shouted with fury in his voice, and redness filled his face. “How dare you!” Duncan barked, “You barged into someone else’s home in groups, attacking my honoured guest! Men, kill all of them!” Duncan moved his hand forward. “Shit, we’ve been made. Retreat immediately”, said one of the figures clad in black. However, how could Duncan allow these filthy intruders to escape? “Jon, make them stay here”, Duncan commanded. “At your command, sir”, said the dark-skinned old man as he grabbed a few men and rushed to the back of the figures clad in black.
The figures clad in black could not escape in time as the only escape they had was blocked by Jon and his men. “Tch”, one of the figures clad in black clicked his tongue, “We’re trapped”, he said with a frustrating tone in his voice. “Hah, trapped like a little mouse you are”, Duncan snorted, “Kill them all!” Duncan barked as his men swarmed the figures clad in black. Eru watched Duncan’s men rush past him while he was carried back by Sydney and Long. They brought the exhausted Eru back near Duncan.
“Sorry for the inconvenience, brother Eru”, Duncan apologized with wryly a smile, “You don’t have to worry, though. No one messes with an honoured guest of mine and live to tell the tale.” Eru chuckled upon seeing Duncan’s confident smile, “Be careful, they’re strong”, he warned. Duncan sent a thumbs up to Eru, “Don’t worry about me. my men and I got this” he smiled. Eru’s lips curled up a little as he was brought away from the garden by Long and Sydney. Once they arrived at the infirmary, Long and Sydney handed Eru to a pair of doctors and nurses stationed there.
“What happened to him?” asked the doctor while the nurse helped Eru rest into the infirmary bed. Eru clutched his shoulder while observing his surroundings. ‘Huh, this place looks like a high school infirmary from anime’, Eru thought. The nurse gently took off Eru’s tattered clothing, revealing burn marks all over his body, “Goodness me, what happened to you?” Sydney gasped when seeing her teacher’s wounds while Long frowned as small killing intent rose within him. The doctor looked at Eru’s wounds, and he couldn’t help but gulp.
Eru smiled wryly, “You don’t need to worry so much about me, doc, I’m fine. It’s not life-threatening”, Eru said. “Besides”, he added, “I’ve been burned like this before, and it’s all healed.” The doctor sighed and shook his head, “Nurse, bring me a couple of healing potions and bandages. This will take a long time to heal”, he said. “Yes, doctor”, the nurse nodded before hurriedly leaving the infirmary. Sydney looked at her master and the doctor, “Can I leave him to you, doctor?”
“Don’t worry, captain Sydney”, the doctor assured, “He is safe with me.” Sydney nodded, “Thank you, doctor”, Sydney said. Then, Sydney’s eyes darted to the laying Eru, “Please rest up, teacher” Sydney said gently, “By the time you recovered, your attacker will all be dead.” After saying that, Sydney left in a flash, leaving Eru with Long and the doctor. Long’s lips curled up a little bit, “What an interesting disciple you’ve got there, brother Eru”, he snickered. Eru scoffed, “She’s not my disciple. I only thought her a few things.”
Eru paused for a while before opening his mouth, “Long”, he called out. “What is it, brother Eru?” Long raised his eyebrow. “Can you do me a favour? Please chase after Sydney and help her and Duncan. Those guys are not your ordinary guys”, Eru said. Long let out a small chuckle, “Sure, I’ll help. It’s common courtesy within our traditions to help those that feed us. But are you sure those guys are worth it, brother Eru? From what I could see, you were exhausted from your fight with your disciple’s father.”
Eru nodded weakly, “I’m sure. My instinct told me that even if I’m not injured, and I went all out against those guys, I felt that most of them would escape from me”, Eru said while frowning. Long furrowed his eyebrows, “A dragon’s instinct should never be taken lightly, I’ll heed your words, brother Eru”, he said as he, too, left the infirmary. “Be careful”, Eru said as he watched Long depart.

Inside Sylphid City’s mayor mansion, a man with a curly moustache bit his lips, “Why did those five take so long?” he said as sweat poured all over his face. Besides him stood a mysterious cloaked figure, standing stoically still. The mysterious cloaked figure clicked his tongue with disdain, “Be patient”, he said, his tone deep, “Those five won’t fail. I only picked the best from the best”, he assured. “But still”, the man with a curly moustache looked at the mysterious cloaked figure with trepidation in his eyes, “Do you have to send those five right now? I mean, the target is still inside one of the most influential people in the Silvan Empire. What if they got caught?”
“Don’t worry”, the mysterious figure said, “Those five won’t get caught so easily even if they failed. Even if they were caught, those five had been trained not to talk no matter what happened to them.” The man with a curly moustache scoffed silently, “I hope you’re right”, he mumbled as he paced back and forth inside of his office. The mysterious figure looked at the man with a moustache with disgust when he felt something was vibrating inside his pocket. “Stay here”, he said before leaving the man with a moustache alone in his office.
At the highest point of Sylphid City, on top of the clock tower, the mysterious figure appeared before putting down his cloaks. He took out a crystal from his pocket and found that said crystal was lighting up. The mysterious figure channelled his energy towards the crystal, activating it.
“Hello, Zemel. Long time no see.”
“You!”
