Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 155

Chapter 155

Chapter 155: Chapter 155

“Heh, trashy scums like you three wanted to bring me down with you?” Long scoffed, “Not in a million years” he smirked. Then, Long held his staff with two hands, “Thank me later, I’ll send you three together so that you could join your comrade”, he said as he rushed in towards the three figures dressed in black. “Watch out! He’s coming”, warned one of the figures clad in black. Immediately after he warned, the remaining three figures dressed in complete black get into a formation, “Triangle Formation!” barked number two.

Then, Long saw the three remaining figures clad in complete black shift their positioning into some kind of triangle, “Do whatever you can do to survive, or else this will be boring”, Long challenged while advancing fast. Not long after that, Long appeared right in front of one of the figures dressed in complete black, “Die!” he roared. The figure clad in black clicked his tongue, “Rargh!” he let out a battle cry as his scimitar met with Long’s staff. But it did not end there as the other figure dressed in complete black moved into Long’s side and swung his own scimitar.

However, instead of panicking, Long had a wide grin on his face, “Now we are talking”, he said as Long hardened his body, making the scimitar unable to wound him. “What the hell!?” the figure clad in complete black exclaimed in surprise when his scimitar was unable to cut Long’s flesh. But, the three figures clad in black were not finished yet as the remaining figure, Number Two swiftly moved to Long’s back and struck his scimitar. Number Two received a similar reaction from his comrade as his scimitar was unable to hurt Long’s back even though he swung with all of his might.

“Hahaha”, Long laughed heartily, “You guys should’ve done this from the start! That formation where you attacked me one by one is boring. This, however, is exhilarating!” After saying that, Long gathered his mana inside his body before ejecting it out, “Explosive Wave!” he shouted. A small explosion was triggered from within Long, blasting away the remaining three figures clad in complete black. Number Two struggled to get up as he slowly turned his head towards Long, “Y-you”, he stuttered, “What the hell are you!?”

Long grinned; he instantly appeared in front of Number Two, pointing the tip of his staff towards Number Two’s head; Long opened his mouth, “I told you, I’m someone the likes of you could only look up from below.” Just as Long was about to finish Number Two off, the other remaining figure clad completely in black rushed in from behind. He kicked Number Two away, “Run, Number Two!” he shouted before he got killed by Long’s fiery spearhead. “No!” Number Two screamed with horror as he watched another comrade fall by the hands of Long.

“Tch, a pesky piece of shit”, Long scoffed; he pointed the tip of his staff towards Number Two, “You’re not going to get away”, he said. Hearing that, Number Two felt his skin was quivering in fear as he tried his best to run away towards the only exit of the building. Long dashed forward, he closed into Number Two, but he was once again interrupted by another figure dressed in complete black. “You’re not getting to Number Two!” the figure dressed in complete black said, but he was soon instantly turned to ashes by Long.

Number Two continued running towards the only exit of the building, terrified as fear gripped his heart. However, Number Two forgot about Jon and his men, and he was quickly reminded of them when he was so close to the exit. Jon looked at the fleeing Number Two with a smile on his face, “Where do you think you’re going?” he smirked. Long disappeared from his spot and instantly reappeared behind Number Two. He pointed the tip of his staff at Number Two’s head, “Any last word?” Long said. However, just before Long was about to kill Number Two, Jon swiftly moved to stop him.

“What is the meaning of this?” Long asked, irritated. “Wait, don’t kill him. Give him to me. I’ll find out who’s the one brave enough to attack the dignified house of D”, Jon replied. Long stared at Jon’s determined eyes before heaving a sigh, “Do as you please”, Long said before leaving Number Two with Jon.

Back in the infirmary, Eru looked at his ‘disciple’ laying on the bed with way worse injuries than himself. He shook his head, “I’m a failure of a teacher, huh?” he mumbled. Eru scanned the entire room before letting out a sigh. Not long before, Eru saw a lot of guards come into the infirmary, carrying their wounded comrades. Seeing that the infirmary’s space was insufficient, the doctor had him moved somewhere more private along with his ‘disciple’ Sydney.

Eru stared at the ceiling, “I wonder if I had stayed around, would the casualty be much lesser?” Eru pondered. “Of course, it will be. Those men came for me”, Eru mumbled, “If I am strong enough, none of this would’ve happened to them.” Eru’s amber-coloured eyes lit up brightly, “I’m not strong enough”, Eru said to himself, “I got to get stronger, stronger than this. I got to get stronger, no matter what it takes.”

Long walked through the hallway looking for Eru’s room. Previously, he went to the infirmary to look for Eru only to be informed that Eru was moved away to a more private location. After that, Long left the infirmary and here he was, standing right in front of the door to Eru’s room. Long knocked on the door gently, “Can I come in?” he asked. Behind the door, Eru’s voice could be heard outside, “Sure, just close the door back.” Long opened the door slowly before closing it gently, “How are you feeling, brother Eru?” he asked with a smile.

“I’ve been better”, Eru replied with a wry smile while his eyes were fixated on the wounded Sydney. Looking at the scene in front of him, Long somehow felt guilty, “I’m sorry, brother Eru, for not being able to protect her”, he apologized. Eru quickly shook his head, “Oh, no, it’s not your fault. The fault lies with her attacker”, he said. Long heaved a sigh of relief, “Speaking of her attacker, those guys are nothing much. You worry for nothing, brother Eru.”

“Is that so?”

“Yes”, Long answered, “Although dealing with them were bothersome while they were inside that formation of theirs, but once you separated them, they fell easily like leaves.”

“Weird analogy there, but okay”, Eru shrugged his shoulder, “You really did not have any problem dealing with them? No transformation or anything?” Long shook his head, “Nope. I did not even need to transform to kill all five of them. Well, I only killed four since the remaining one I gave to Jon.” Eru pondered on Long’s words before he furrowed his eyebrows, “Wait, how many did you say you kill?” Eru asked.

“Four. I gave one to Jon to be interrogated,” Long replied, “Why is there something wrong with it?” he tilted his head. Eru gritted his teeth, “When they came at me, there were six of them”, Eru said with a grave tone. Long’s eyes shot wide open, “Six?” he exclaimed, “You’re telling me that there were six of them before?” Eru nodded solemnly. Long gripped his fist while biting his lips at the same time, “So one escape from me without me knowing it?”

“Most likely, yes”, Eru frowned, his expression solemn. Long punched the wall, leaving a small crack, “Fuck”, he swore, “They dared make a mockery out of me?” he said as killing intent began to rise within him. “Calm yourself, Long”, Eru said, “Since they are aiming at me, sooner or later they will show their face again. Until then, we wait.” Long nodded, “You’re right, brother Eru. I’ll tear them apart next time we’ve met.”

After Zemel begrudgingly reported his progress to Taiboku, he left the clock tower with his cloak down, masking his appearance once more and heading back towards his hidden base. Once there, Zemel took off his cloaks completely while gritting his teeth in anger. Fury rose within him when he thought about what happened earlier in his day. Zemel let out a sigh as he opened a bottle of wine, pouring it into a glass. However, just before Zemel sipped his glass of wine, he saw an injured figure dressed in complete black lying in front of him.

Zemel furrowed his brow; he moved closer towards the figure dressed in complete black. “Number One?” Zemel exclaimed after he checked the figure. Zemel took off Number One’s clothes, and he found that Number One had burn injuries all over Number One’s body. After seeing how badly Number One was injured, Zemel immediately went over to a room to his right. In that room lies several lit up crystals that were neatly arranged into a line.

When Zemel entered the room, the fury he held for a while fully exploded.

“Rargh!”
