On Sylphid City’s entrance, a crowd of people could be seen preparing themselves for their journey or quest. Among the crowd of people, one could see a bright red-haired young man talking to another young man with raven-coloured hair. Those two were, of course, Long and Eru.
“Is that all we needed?” Long asked while strapping his backpack on his back. “Yep”, Eru replied, “I think that’s all we need.” Sydney, that was beside them, sheathed her sword after checking it, “I’m ready, teacher.” Eru nodded towards Sydney before turning his head at a certain redhead, “How about your side, Cina?” Cina looked at her squad, “Are you all ready, squad?” Cina’s adventurers’ squad that consists of 10 people, nodded their heads, “We believe we are ready”, they answered in unison. Cina looked at Eru, “You heard what they said. We’re ready”, she informed.
“How about your subordinates, Sydney?” Eru inquired. Then, Sydney looked back at her three ‘subordinates’. They sent a thumbs up at Sydney, “We’re ready whenever you are, young lady”, they said with a smile. Sydney sighed while shaking her head, “I’m sorry about this, teacher. My father insisted that I bring these three if I want to follow you.” Eru flashed a smile, “What are you apologizing for? If I were your father, I would’ve done the same as this trip will be dangerous.”
Then, Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “I will ask you one more time. Are you sure you want to follow me, Sydney?” Eru asked with a serious tone in his voice. Sydney nodded, “I’m sure.” Eru shook his head, “You don’t understand, Sydney. This is my mission. And you coming with me will put yourself in a line of danger.” Sydney smiled, “I’m well aware of the risk, teacher. Besides, you let this guy follow you”, she pointed at Long. Eru sighed, “You know that Long is different. He persistently followed me back from Gale without asking for my permission.” Sydney’s smile became even brighter, “Then I will just follow his example. If you don’t mind him, surely you won’t mind me, right, teacher? Or are you sexist and don’t want any women to follow you?”
Eru flinched, and Long chuckled after hearing this, “Hahaha, she got you there, brother Eru. Why don’t you let her follow you? I mean, she is already here, after all. If you want to stop her, you should’ve done it back at the mansion.” Eru’s eyes twitched, “You know what, do what you want”, Eru said while scratching the back of his head with frustration.
Eru shook his head; he stepped forward ahead of everybody, “Alright, if everyone is ready, we will depart now. From what we were told, the requester is probably facing a life and death situation right about now. So time is of the essence. Thankfully, Sylpid Academy was nearby, and it would not take us long to arrive there. This will be an important mission that will decide the life and death of everyone in the academy.” After that, Eru turned his back towards the road. Pointing his right arm forward, he shouted, “We march!”

The armoured woman brandished her sword. Her sword glowed yellow as lightning came out from the tip of her sword, “Thunder!” she shouted. The monstrous creature that resembled a gazelle moved out of the way, but Julian Albert managed to interrupt the gazelle-like monstrous creature with his spell. Because of that, the gazelle-like monstrous creature’s trajectory changed. It was about to charge into the armoured woman, but thanks to Julian Albert’s spell, it went away in another direction, allowing the armoured woman to rendezvous with Julian Albert.
“Good job, Julian Albert”, the armoured woman praised. Julian Albert nodded with sweat pouring on his head, “Thank you”, he replied while panting. The armoured woman did not fail to notice Julian Albert’s condition. Then, she looked around the battlefield and found that the situation was getting worse and worse. A few of her soldiers were killed, and a few were injured, either heavily injured or lightly injured. Realizing that the situation was not in her favour, the armoured woman pursed her lips. ‘Damn it!’ she cursed inwardly, ‘These monsters are endless. Looks like I’m not going to survive the ordeal this time.’
Refusing to resign on her fate, the armoured woman looked at Julian Albert and shouted, “Come on! We’re not done yet!” Seeing that the armoured woman still had so much energy in her, Julian Albert’s spirit was lifted, and his exhaustion was slightly reduced, “Yes, ma’am!” The energized duo of armoured woman and Julian Albert continued to roam the battlefield, killing the monstrous creatures with every step they took. Julian Albert cast a spell towards one of the monstrous creatures before the armoured woman finished it off. ‘Incredible,’ Julian Albert thought, ‘I can feel myself improving vastly. If I managed to survive this ordeal, I think I will be a match to the seniors when they come back.’
Julian Albert observed his surroundings; although he previously found that the battlefield was terrifying, now that he felt himself becoming stronger, his view towards this battle changed dramatically. “Snap out of it, Julian”, he said to himself, “Focus. People are dying here. Remember your original purpose in volunteering yourself. Don’t get lost in this feeling you’re having right now”, Julian Albert muttered.
The armoured woman brandished her sword. She opened her mouth slowly and chanted softly, “Ice.” Then, the armoured woman stabbed her sword into the ground, creating ice spikes that penetrated the body of multiple monstrous creatures. “Julian Albert!” the armoured woman shouted. By now, Julian Albert knew what he should be doing as he followed up to the armoured woman’s order perfectly. “Wind Blast!” Julian Albert shouted. His spell caused the ice to break apart, hitting the monstrous creatures around it. “Thanks, commander”, Amy said with gratitude. The armoured woman pursed her lips, “Thank me by leading your squad better”, she said before moving to another squad.
Amy’s eyes brightened, “Right”, she nodded, “Follow the commander!”

“What the hell was that!?” Sydney exclaimed when she saw the scene in front of her. “No wonder they asked for reinforcements. A small squadron of 12 soldiers will not be able to handle this much”, Long said while watching the legions of monstrous creatures that were attacking a small group of soldiers. Cina gulped, “Those group of soldiers are amazing. How can they hold on for so long against those monstrosities?” Eru shook his head, “It did not matter how. Right now, they need our help. We got to hurry up.” Eru said.
The rest of Eru’s party all nodded their heads, “Right.” After that, they hurriedly ran through the plains, approaching the monstrous creatures with haste. “Hmm?” the red-haired woman felt several presences were coming her way, “Reinforcements?” she furrowed her eyebrows. The red-haired woman squinted her eyes, “Does not look like from the army. Is it the adventurers then?” the red-haired woman pondered. Then, the red-haired woman pursed her lips and smiled, “As you would expect from Zebulon’s relative, they are all incompetent. Good thing madam Da Ji place me here secretly then.”
After that, the red-haired woman stepped backwards while Eru and his party were approaching closer and closer to her. “I’ll withdraw for now. It’s a shame for this batch of creatures, but It looks like this is not the time yet. You’re lucky, Helga Stormwind”, the red-haired woman muttered before disappearing from the site. It’s not only the red-haired woman that noticed Eru and his party, the armoured woman that was fighting against the monstrous creatures also noticed them.
But, the armoured woman could not deduce whether they were from the army or not. Nevertheless, her spirit was lifted when she saw a slight glimpse of hope in Eru and his party. The armoured woman raised her head after stabbing a monstrous creature to death, “Rejoice everybody. Reinforcements has come!” she shouted with all of her might. The faces of the soldiers around the armoured woman had their expression brightened up, “Yeah!” they yelled with joy as their spirits were lifted up. “Push through men!” the armoured woman barked as she pointed her sword towards the monstrous creatures.
Upon watching the re-envigorated, re-energized soldiers, Eru and his party moved even quicker into the fray. “Charge!” Cina shouted before jumping to a gigantic monstrous creature that was in front of her. She brandished her sabre and stabbed it on its neck, “Die!” Cina yelled as the monstrous creature’s blood spurted on her face. “What a fierce woman….” Long smiled as he, too, charged forward to meet the monstrous creatures with his staff in hand. Not willing to lose out, Sydney too brandished her sabre, “I’m joining the fray”, she muttered as her yellow-coloured aura coated her blade. She swung her sabre, cutting one of the monstrous creatures head off.
Eru unsheathed his black sword, “We don’t want to lose out, right, Buddy?” The black sword in his hand vibrated vigorously as it let out a black hue. “Rargh!” Eru shouted, letting out a battle cry before enveloping Buddy with his raven-coloured aura before swinging his sword at the enemy. Eru also amplified his strength with Eruken and swung his black sword horizontally, cleaving several monstrous creatures in halves. The armoured woman, her soldiers, Sydney, along with her bodyguard and Cina along with the adventurers, all gawked out after seeing what Eru had done.
“What the hell—” they all exclaimed in unison.
