Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 168

Chapter 168

Chapter 168: Chapter 168

“With this letter in my hands, we will drive those corrupted government from our beloved Sylphid City and avenged those they wronged!” Alexandro shouted with passion, which was by the adventurers with a similar tone in their voices. With that, Alexandro ended the meeting early and headed straight to his office.

Once Alexandro arrived, he immediately sat in his office, holding a glass of carbonated drink, facing the beautiful, long-haired man, Koil, in front of him that barged into his office. The long-haired man stared at Alexandro with a suspicious glare, “Why did you end your speech short? It’s unlike you, Xandro”, he asked. Alexandro sipped his carbonated drink before smirking at the long-haired man, “You don’t know? I thought you were the smarter one”, he grinned. The tip of the long-haired man’s eyes twitched a little, “Just tell me already. Don’t be annoying.”

Alexandro waved his hand, “Yeah, yeah, Mr Grumpy” he leaned back to his chair, “Take a look”, he tossed the letter to the long-haired man. “This is—” the long-haired man slowly opened up the letter. Alexandro observed the long-haired man in front of him with a gleeful smile. The long-haired man read the letters slowly before suddenly his body shot up, standing, “Are these really the truth!?” the long-haired man slammed the guild master’s desk with his hands, staring at Alexandro’s eyes intensely. Alexandro chuckled a little, “Yes, it’s all true. After all, they came from a reliable source.”

The long-haired man took a heavy breath before slowly sitting back. He rubbed his chin in wonder as he slightly closed his eyes, “If this is all true, what are we waiting for? Let’s strike now when the iron is hot.” Alexandro shook his head, “I’m waiting.” The long-haired man squinted his eyes, “For what?” Alexandro waved his hand, “Patience, my friend. Before, you asked me why I’m ending my speech early, right?” The long-haired man nodded, “Yes, and?” Alexandro let out a devilish smirk, “Let’s just say that the reason I’m waiting is the same as why I ended my speech early.”

The long-haired man’s eyes twitched with annoyance, “Fine, if you want to stay silent, I’ll trust you this time”, he clicked his tongue, “I just hope that what you’re planning would work.” Alexandro let out a small chuckle, “Haha, you don’t have to worry about that. After all, I already told a lot of powerful people about it.” The long-haired man scoffed, “And you won’t tell your best friend?” Alexandro smiled while shaking his head, “Nope. After all, I’m getting my enjoyment watching you figure this out” he grinned. “Hah, very funny”, the long-haired man sulked while drinking from his own glass of carbonated drink.

While Alexandro was waiting for his plan to bore fruit, Eru and the armoured woman were bewildered when the old lady told them about the guild master plan. “He is crazy”, the armoured woman said, “If his plan worked, wouldn’t it be counted as a rebellion?” she gawked. The old lady shook her head, “Not exactly” the old woman took a deep breath, “It will count as a rebellion if the current government is not dirty, not corrupt. Alexandro could afford to do this because of the shady dealings of the current government and the likely involvement of secret organizations within it.”

“Secret organizations?” the armoured woman raised her eyes, “You mean—” The old lady nodded, “Yes, the one that attacked you, boy, was most likely from a secret organization known as the Demonic Cult”, she said sombrely. “The Demonic Cult!?” Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “I’ve run into them before”, he informed. “You did!?” the armoured woman instantly shifted her gaze towards Eru, “When? How do you survive?” The old lady nodded, “I can confirm that this boy did encounter the Demonic Cult before.” The armoured woman looked at the old lady, “How do you know that?”

The old lady scrutinized her eyes towards Eru, “Don’t you know that this kid won the annual GFT for this year? I thought martial-arts fanatics like you would know.” The armoured woman shifted her gaze between Eru and the old lady, “Really? How come I did not know?” The old lady sighed, “That’s what I’m asking you. Between the higher-ups in the kingdom, no one should not know you by now, kid” she looked at Eru. “Wasn’t this matter covered up by Simba?” Eru asked. The old lady nodded, “He did, but that does not include important people such as I or the one that watched the live broadcast.”

Eru frowned, “Then, the Sylphid City government should know who I am. This complicates things” he rubbed his chin, pondering. The old lady let out a small smile, “Don’t worry about them. They probably stuck on their own indulgent to pay attention to this sort of things”, the old lady assured. “Phew”, Eru heaved a sigh of relief, “That’s reassuring, I guess.” Eru then sensed the armoured woman’s gaze, “Uh, is there something wrong with me?” Eru asked. The armoured woman shook her head bashfully, “No, no, there’s nothing wrong. I just thought that aren’t you a little young to be winning the GFT?”

“Uh, no, I’m not”, Eru answered. The old lady chuckled while the armoured woman tried hiding her face after asking a stupid question, “I’m sorry”, she said with a reddened face. The old lady smiled, “Let’s get back to the topic at hand. Alexandro guessed that the attack on Sylphid Academy was the doing of the Demonic Cult when I told him what happened earlier. So, our mission here is to investigate the Demonic Cult’s movements.” The armoured woman squinted her eyes, “That means we need to enter the facility that the students reported before.”

The old lady nodded with a serious face, “Unfortunately, we do. Because of that, I want you two to prepare thoroughly before launching an expedition to the mysterious facilities.” The armoured woman and Eru nodded simultaneously. “Oh, and just formed a small and elite unit to go to the expedition and leave the rest here. After all, we don’t know if they would launch another attack”, the old lady added. “Got it”, the armoured woman replied before she and Eru left the old lady’s office. The old lady watched as the armoured woman and Eru left her office and let out an exasperated sigh, “I hope all of this goes well”, she muttered.

Eru parted ways with the armoured woman before heading to his own quarters provided by Sylphid Academy. Eru observed his rooms before nodding, “This looks good for a student dorm”, he mumbled. Then, Eru laid his body down on the bed, “Haaah”, he sighed, “Things just get more complicated by the minute. I know I said I wanted an adventure, but I did not realize it came with this much trouble.”

Then, Eru turned his body around, facing towards the ceiling; he rested his hands behind his head, “However, for some reason, I kind of like it” Eru smiled, “It’s fun. I get to meet new people, make new friends and see the world as it is. Thank you to whoever gave this new chance for me.”

Just as Eru was pondering his life so far, he could hear someone knocking on his door gently. “Teacher”, a woman’s voice could be heard from beyond the door, “Can I come in?” she asked. Eru quickly stood up and sat on a chair nearby before nodding, “Sure, come in. It’s not locked”, he said. “Alright, coming in”, a familiar dark-skinned woman opened the door, revealing her full figure. “What is it, Sydney?” Eru asked while raising his eyebrows. “How are you, teacher?” Sydney inquired, “Good, I hope?”

Eru sighed; looking at the dark-skinned woman’s eyes, Eru could tell that Sydney wanted something. “What do you want?” Eru inquired. Sydney let out a small chuckle, “Um, teacher, can you please train me again?” Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “Train you?” Sydney nodded, “Yes. After looking at your prowess today, I realized that I’m still far too weak to be useful on the battlefield”, she said with a hint of frustration. “Hmm”, Eru crossed his arms, “But why should I?” Sydney flinched back, “Pardon?” Eru looked at Sydney, “Why should I? The last time I did was because of my payback. And now, tell me, why should I train you?”

“I-I”, Sydney was taken aback, stuttering in her words. Eru then suddenly laughed, “Just kidding”, he smirked, “Sure, I’ll train you.” Sydney’s expression brightened after hearing Eru’s words, “Really? Then let’s go right now”, she said excitedly. Then, Eru left his room with Sydney into the open field behind the academy. “Come, come, teacher. Hurry up”, Sydney said while rushing towards the open field. Eru looked at the excited Sydney and couldn’t help but shake his head, “That woman is way excited for training. And to think she’s older than me as well”, he muttered.

Once Sydney and Eru arrived at the open field, they met a woman with long blonde hair. She swung her sword up and down as sweat dripped down from her face. The moon behind her shone a light at the woman, making her face look even more beautiful. The blonde-haired woman looked at Sydney and Eru, “Why are you here?”
