Chapter 203: Chapter 203

“Urgh”, Long groaned, “Where am I?” he woke up groggily. Long slowly get up on his feet, finding a yellow oval-like sphere right in front of him. Then, Long looked upwards, he found that Eru was fighting ferociously against a red-haired woman. “Brother Eru!” Long exclaimed as a red-coloured protective membrane made of his mana appeared once again around Long. He flapped his wings, using his iconic red staff; Long brandished it towards the red-haired woman. “Long!” Eru exclaimed happily while dodging the red-haired woman’s kick. The red-haired woman manoeuvred in the air to dodge Long’s staff before she used both of her feet to kick Long away. 

Long managed to stabilize himself in the air while Eru continued to fend off the red-haired woman’s frenzied attacks. “You’re not the only one with a partner”, the red-haired woman snapped her fingers after dashing backwards in the air slightly. After she did that, the yellow oval sphere in the ground cracked, revealing Meng Huo with a pair of large yellow wings. “Zhu Rong!” Meng Huo growled. “Attack the red one. The black one’s mine!” the red-haired woman ordered. Meng Huo initially struggled to resist her order, but after a while, his body moved on its own. 

Long glared at Meng Huo in anger, “You!” he growled. “Try not to kill him if you can, Long”, Eru said, “This red-haired woman is the mastermind behind all this. Try to keep him occupied for the time being.” Long furrowed his eyebrows. Before he managed to reply, however, Meng Huo was already before him, ready to attack. Meng Huo threw a fist towards Long, which the latter managed to catch. “I’m sorry, young man. Please stop me if you can”, Meng Huo pleaded. Long frowned; he felt complicated right at this moment. But, Long did not let his feeling get in the way as he swallowed his anger before grabbing Meng Huo and flinging him backwards. 

The red-haired woman glared at Eru with a small grin on her face, “It’s just you and me, now, raven kid. I’ll be sure to take my time enjoying you”, she licked her lips. “Fucking pervert”, Eru cursed.

While Eru was facing the red-haired woman, Long stood face to face against Meng Huo. “You, how did you transform into a human form without mana?” Long asked while squinting his eyes. “Like I told your friend before, I don’t know a thing about all of this. Apparently, I’m some sort of experiment for Zhu Rong over there”, Meng Huo shrugged while exchanging blows with Long. “You don’t know a thing? You’re lying!” Long furrowed his eyebrows while shouting. Meng Huo nodded, “Unfortunately, I’m not lying. I hate that woman very much for me to be lying for her”, he explained while fending off Long’s attack. 

“Tch”, Long clicked his tongue with a heavy expression. Meng Huo looked at Long’s expression, finding it strange. Long took a deep breath before shaking his head, “I’m going to put that away in the back of my head for now”, he muttered. Then, Long pointed his red staff towards Meng Huo, “I won’t kill you since brother Eru asked me not to. But I will still pummel you until you can’t even stand anymore”, Long declared. Meng Huo chuckled, “Please do stop me. Do whatever you want, use whatever method you have”, he said while flapping his yellow wings. Meng Huo rushed towards Long, delivering punches and kicks, which Long parried them all with his red staff. 

As Long and Meng Huo fought, Long noticed there was something wrong with Meng Huo’s attack. He squinted his eyes, focusing on how Meng Huo moved. Suddenly, Long’s eyes widened with surprise, “You—” Long exclaimed. Meng Huo frowned, “What?” he asked while his body moved on its own to attack Long. “You’re holding back”, Long spoke softly. Meng Huo smiled wryly, “I’m doing as much as I can to hold myself back. I don’t know how long I could last so if you could please hurry it up I’ll be grateful to you. Besides, don’t you want to help your friend over there?” Meng Huo pointed at the battle between Eru and the red-haired woman with his thumb. “Then prepare yourself”, Long gathered his mana, “I’ll going to end this quick”, he said with a low tone.

“Hah, hah, hah, hah”, the armoured woman wiped the sweat from her forehead as a giant golem fell in front of her. “Good job, Syndra”, Principal Helga praised as she appeared out of thin air behind the armoured woman. “Is this what you meant by creating a tsunami using smaller waves?” the armoured woman turned her head towards Principal Helga, who was behind her. “Nope”, Principal Helga shook her head, “You still have a long way to go before you can create a tsunami. But a large, overbearing wave will do for now.” 

The armoured woman looked at herself, silently observing her own body before nodding, “Thank you”, she said heartily. Principal Helga took out her wand, waving it in front of the armoured woman; she cast a healing spell, which instantly let the armoured woman to recover. “After we’re done with the other two, you three will depart to become reinforcement for our missing two”, Principal Helga stated. “The other two?” the armoured woman slightly raised one of her eyebrows. “Yes, the other two. You’re not the only one I’m training”, Principal Helga said with a wry smile.

“Is this all?” Sydney looked at Principal Helga with multiple dead golems near her feet. “Y-yeah, that is all”, Principal Helga gulped, dumbfoundedly looking at the white-haired, brown-skinned woman in front of her. “Eru said you were talented, but even I did not think you are this talented”, Principal Helga praised while rubbing her chin. “Really? Teacher Eru said that?” Sydney’s eyes gleamed. “I guess I did not have to worry too much about you” Principal Helga ignored Sydney’s question, “The question is, how did you grasp it so fast? His technique, I mean, no one so far had created such a powerful technique such as him”, Principal Helga pondered. 

“I did receive training from Teacher Eru the night before the expedition”, Sydney replied while shrugging her shoulders. “No matter. Since you are able to utilize it in my little test, you are somewhat ready. Come here for a second”, Principal Helga waved her hand. Sydney walked towards Principal Helga slowly after sheathing her sword. Then, Principal Helga put her hand above Sydney’s head, “This might hurt a bit.” Right after that, Principal Helga injected her mana into Sydney. “Guh”, Sydney grunted, “Are you trying to kill me, old hag?” she cursed. “Just endure it for a bit”, Principal Helga pursed her lips, “Or don’t tell me you can’t endure little pain such as this?” she let out a mocking smirk. Sydney groaned, “Just hurry up”, she said while biting her lower lips.

One of Principal Helga’s clones shook her head as she watched the blue-haired female soldier struggle against the adversary that Principal Helga created. ‘Did I pick the wrong person?’ Principal Helga’s clone thought to herself. The blue-haired female soldier panted, “This is hard”, she muttered. Then, the blue-haired female soldier slapped herself in the cheek, “No, don’t give up. After all, big sister never did give up herself.” After saying that, the blue-haired female soldier straightened up her posture. She gathered mana onto her body while raising up her wand. “Come and get me!” the blue-haired female soldier let out a battle cry.

“Huh”, Principal Helga’s clone slightly smiled, “She got good spirit at least.”

After a while, all three of Principal Helga’s clones raised their head up into the artificial sky. “I think that’s all of you”, they spoke at the same time to the armoured woman, the blue-haired female soldier and to Sydney. Then, all three of Principal Helga’s clones snapped her fingers, shattering the space around them, bringing the trio of the armoured woman, the blue-haired female soldier and Sydney back to her office. “So, how does it feel?” Principal Helga’s main body asked the trio while resting her face on her hands. “Feel what?” the armoured woman squinted. 

“To get stronger in just a few minutes”, Principal Helga let out a mysterious smile. “Few minutes?” Sydney furrowed her eyebrows. “But that’s impossible”, added the blue-haired female soldier, “There is no way all of that was just a few minutes”, she retorted. The armoured woman stayed silent, but she too was curious just as her subordinate was. “It is not impossible. You could say that it is the advantage of being one of the oldest mages in the world right now. Let’s just say I delve in many laws of magic”, Principal Helga explained shortly. 

Principal Helga shook her head, “Enough about this. We can talk about it another day.” The armoured woman nodded, “So, we’re good to go?” Principal Helga nodded while smiling softly, “Go and bring our people back here.” The armoured woman turned away, “Let us go and prepare.”
