Chapter 219: Chapter 219
Back in Sylphid City
Inside the Adventurers Guild’s guild masters office stood an injured Deddy, looking at a sleeping young girl with a ginger-coloured bob cut hair. “Hah”, Deddy let out an exasperated sigh. He sat down on a sofa nearby before looking at the night sky. “How did my life turn to this?” Deddy lamented. “Ask your father that”, a silhouette appeared on the window. “Guild master”, Deddy said, “I don’t think I want to.” The guild master leaned on a wall, “Why not?” he asked. “He used me”, Deddy clenched his fist, “He moulded me to someone that I don’t want to be. All that I’ve done, I remember vividly what I’ve done to those people, and yet, I don’t have any control over myself”, he gritted his teeth with anger.
The guild master shrugged his shoulders, “Well if you don’t want to, you don’t have to. But—” The guild master poured a glass of carbonated water into his cup, “It is not too late.” Deddy cluelessly looked at the guild master, “Not too late? For what?” The guild master down the carbonated water in one gulp before looking at Deddy while smiling, “To atone. Tell me what your father is planning, and maybe, maybe you will have closure.” Deddy shook his head, “Even if I did tell you, I don’t think I will have the closure you speak of”, he said, lowering his head slightly. “Eh”, the guild master poured another batch of carbonated water into his cup, “Whether you want to tell me nor not tell me about it is your right. However, let me tell you something. Even if you don’t tell me, I’m planning on hurting your father and his associates for everything that he’d done. Now, it is up to you whether you want to be a part of that or not.”
Deddy bit his lower lips while holding May’s hand tightly. After pondering for a while, Deddy raised his head up at the guild master with determined eyes, “All right. I’ll tell you everything I know.” The guild master’s eyes lit up, “I’ve been waiting for you to say that.” After that, Deddy told the guild master everything that he remembered about his life and his father. While the guild master heard what Deddy told him, his expression turned from joy to grim in an instant. After Deddy finished telling his story, the guild master shook his head, “Unbelievable, truly unbelievable. I thought I at least managed to leash him a little. Turns out, it is worse than I imagine.”
Deddy bit his lips, “Yes, it is. Imagine doing all of those things, remembering them, and you cannot control your own body.” The guild master nodded, “I can’t imagine. So, what are you trying to do?” Deddy looked at the guild master, “I’ll do what I need to be done. I’ll make sure he pays for what he’s done.” The guild master nodded, “Good.” Deddy lowered his head, “What are your plans?” The guild master smiled mysteriously, “For now, we need to lay low until my wife comes back from the academy. After that, we strike.”

“Do you think it’s alright for us just to wait outside?” Sydney asked, “I mean, teacher Eru is fighting on his own back there.” The blue-haired female soldier furrowed her eyebrows, “I mean, what are we going to do? Just look at the way they fought. We don’t stand a chance if we try to help.” Sydney bit her lips, “You are right, but… I don’t know. I feel useless, you know? After all the training we’ve done with Principal Helga and not being able to do anything after that. It’s frustrating”, she shrugged her shoulders. The armoured woman let out an exasperated sigh, “I know what you mean. Feeling powerless despite overwhelming adversaries…. I experienced this feeling many times”, she commented, “A lot of that is recent.”
“Hmm”, Sydney slumped to the ground before immediately getting back up, “I’m not having this”, she said. “I’m going back in. Help my teacher”, Sydney said as she approached the door to the training hall. “No”, the armoured woman grabbed Sydney by her arm, “You are not going there alone.” Sydney furrowed her eyebrows, “Why not?” she asked. “Do you want to be a liability for your teacher?” the blue-haired female soldier said, “Even if you go in, what can you do? Fought and die?” Sydney gritted her teeth, “It’s better than staying here waiting”, she pouted. “Now, you either let me go to help, or I’ll fight you to get inside,” Sydney threatened. The armoured woman shook her head with a smile, “All I said was not to go there alone.”
Sydney squinted her eyes while the blue-haired female soldier looked at the armoured woman, “You serious, big sis?” she asked. “Yeah. Waiting like this does not suit me either. We will go in there together. But before that, we must go there with a plan. Rushing there in blind will not do us any good”, the armoured woman said. “That’s right. You three need a plan if you want to go up against something like that”, a voice resounded behind the armoured woman; the blue-haired female soldier and Sydney startled them. “Long, you’re awake”, Sydney exclaimed. “I am”, Long adjusted his clothes, “Now, you three will not stand a chance against that woman. I’m afraid brother Eru too will not stand a chance against that woman. In this world, only a few could beat her in a fair fight”, Long uttered.
“Then, what should we do?” the armoured woman asked. “Simple”, Long furrowed his eyebrows, “We don’t play fair.”

“Argh”, Eru grunted as his strike was parried hard by the red-haired woman. “Hey, hey, don’t tell me that’s all? Where is your previous bravado?” the red-haired woman taunted. “Not enough yet. Aargh!” Eru shouted, brandishing his black sword toward the red-haired woman. “Heh”, the red-haired woman clicked her tongue, “When will you ever learn,” she said while raising her maroon-coloured boomerang. “I have better chances this way”, Eru’s black sword clashed with the red-haired woman’s maroon-coloured boomerang. “True. It would be foolish to fight me at a distance”, the red-haired woman gathered her crimson-coloured aura, “However—”
The red-haired woman kicked Eru on his stomach, sending him flying towards a nearby wall. Just before Eru hit the wall, he flapped his wings, flipping in the air before flying upwards, avoiding the inevitable crash. “You forgot about my special constitution”, the red-haired woman suddenly appeared before Eru, grabbing his arm and throwing him away. “Tch”, Eru clicked his tongue as he recovered in the air on time before hitting the ground. But, before Eru could recover completely, the red-haired woman was already behind Eru. “Damn it!” Eru quickly turned around, swinging his black sword at the red-haired woman.
“Now that I have the same speed as you, it showed, right? Your lack of experience”, the red-haired woman smiled while blocking Eru’s black sword. After that, the red-haired woman nimbly moved her maroon-coloured boomerang to parry Eru’s black sword. “Your technique is quite good for your age, but against someone more skilled than you, you need a surprise element”, the red-haired woman commented as she delivered a barrage of attacks toward Eru. “This is getting boring now”, the red-haired woman said, “Let us end this dance of death.” After that, the red-haired woman parried Eru’s black sword to the side before raising her maroon-coloured boomerang up high.
Just as the red-haired woman’s maroon-coloured boomerang down at Eru, the latter smirked. “It’s time”, Eru mumbled softly. The red-haired woman noticed Eru’s smirk, but it was all too late for her. “Explosion!” Eru yelled out loud as fire mana particles gathered around him. In just a split second, the fire mana particles vibrated erratically. With a boom, an explosive engulfed both the red-haired woman and Eru. However, just before the explosion hit him, Eru surrounded himself with his raven-coloured aura and Fate Energy. Because of the explosion, both Eru and the red-haired woman were sent flying back.
The red-haired woman was heavily injured while Eru hit his head on a nearby wall. “Hah, hah, hah”, the red-haired woman panted hard, but her expression was that of joy, “Y-you. You got me good, bastard”, she said while clutching her chest. “Urgh”, Eru grunted as his consciousness was still groggy from the impact. “I almost die, you bastard”, the red-haired woman said while approaching Eru slowly but surely. “To show you respect, I’ll kill you instantly without any pain”, the red-haired woman raised her hand, summoning her maroon-coloured boomerang. The red-haired woman pressed Eru to the ground with her leg, “Any last word?” the red-haired woman pointed the tip of her maroon-coloured boomerang at Eru.
“Hehe”, Eru let out a small laugh, “In the end, it was still not enough.” The red-haired woman had a massive grin on her face, “Be proud, kid. To be able to push me, Zhu Rong this far is an accomplishment. Die!” Eru stared at the red-haired woman, bravely facing his death.
