“Master Long, may I ask you something?” Long slightly furrowed his eyebrows, “What do you want?” he grumbled. “Why would you risk so much for young master Eru, master Long?” Meng Huo asked. “None of your business”, Long said. Meng Huo shrugged, “I mean, you are a majestic red dragon, right? Why do so much for a mere human like young master Eru?” Long gritted his teeth, “Like I told you, it is none of your fucking business.”
Meng Huo sighed before slightly smirking, “I guess a human who got a favour from a red dragon is different from the rest of the humans. How lucky young master Eru must have been.” Long then glared at Meng Huo fiercely, “If you spoke one more bad word about brother Eru, I would kill you myself”, Long said with full killing intent, “Besides, who told you brother Eru is just an ordinary human? He is, like me, a mighty dragon.” Meng Huo raised his hands up, “Alright, alright, I’m stopping”, Meng Huo said with a small smile. “Tch”, Long clicked his tongue in annoyance. “Ahh, I don’t know that you think of me so highly, Long; I’m touched”, suddenly, a voice resounded in the area, startling Long. “Brother Eru” Long exclaimed as a smile slowly formed on his face.
“Yo!” Eru emerged from the rubbles of the destroyed bunker with wounds all over his body. “Young master Eru”, Meng Huo bowed ninety degrees. “Yo”, Eru replied, “Where is everybody?” Eru asked after looking around his surroundings. “They’re all went back first. Sydney pushed herself too far with your technique”, Meng Huo answered after straightening up his posture. Eru slightly raised his eyebrows, “My technique?” Long nodded, “Yeah. The one where you multiplied your power severalfold.” Eru rubbed his chin, “Hmm, so she managed to learn Eruken in such a short time, huh. I’ve got to thank Aelgh for this one then”, he softly muttered.
“Aelgh? Who’s that?” Long slightly tilted his head. “Oh, I mean Principal Helga”, Eru scratched the back of his head. “Oh. By the way, may I ask why you did not escape with us earlier, brother Eru?” Long asked. “Sure”, Eru smiled, “It’s this.” Then, Eru revealed his left hand to Long and Meng Huo. “What is that?” Meng Huo squinted his eyes. “It’s a ring?” Long furrowed his eyebrows. “Yup”, Eru smiled while nodding, “And it is not just your everyday ring.” Meng Huo looked at the black ring on Eru’s left middle finger, “What did it do?” Eru smirked, “You want to know what this thing does?” Meng Huo nodded, “Of course. The curious soul inside me could not resist.”
Eru smiled before summoning his black sword, “As it turns out, there is a perfect subject for me to demonstrate what this black ring does. Come out!” Eru barked. Right after that, a bestial roar resounded from within the forest before a four-meter tall ogre came out from the sea of trees around Eru, Long and Meng Huo. “A mere ogre dare to challenge us?” Long said with disdain. “Perfect for a test subject”, Meng Huo smiled. Eru readied his stance, “En garde!” Eru widened his stance before letting out a battle cry and leaping in the direction of the ogre. “Roar!” the ogre let out its own battle cry before brandishing the wooden club in its hand.
Eru nimbly avoided the ogre’s barrage of attacks with ease. Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “Are ogres always this weak?” he commented. “They are”, Long nodded in agreement. Meng Huo shook his head, “It’s not that ogres are weak. It is that you are just too strong, young master Eru”, Meng Huo said. “Really?” Eru slightly raised one of his eyebrows while evading another attack from the ogre. “Of course”, Long crossed his arms, “Who do you think we are? We are dragons. Creatures such as ogres are not worthy to face us normally”, Long said with a hint of arrogance. Eru sighed, “When will you stop thinking about me being a dragon?” Eru shook his head. “Brother Eru is just being modest again”, Long let out a small smile, “So, about that ring?” he added.
“Oh, right”, Eru said. Then, Eru looked at the ogre intensely, “Come on, then. I’m right here. Attack me”, Eru provoked the ogre even more by sending two middle fingers at the monster. “Roar!” the ogre let out an angry roar before it gripped its wooden club tightly. The ogre gathered as much strength as it could before swinging its wooden club horizontally. “Finally, a strong attack”, Eru exclaimed before raising his left hand in the direction of the ogre’s attack. As the ogre’s wooden club was closing in on Eru’s left hand, Eru smirked, “Manusa!” Eru softly muttered. After Eru said that, the black ring on Eru’s middle finger lit up. Then, a black gauntlet emerged from the ring, coating Eru’s left hand entirely.
After that, a small black shield formed from the black gauntlet, blocking the ogre’s wooden club. “So it’s a shield?” Meng Huo said. “Why would you risk your life just for a shield, brother Eru?” Long pondered. “Hah, I would cry if this thing is just a shield. I managed to survive all those explosions down there because of this ring. Watch,” Eru said before the black shield that was blocking the ogre’s wooden club bulged slightly. “Hooh—” Long rubbed his chin as he watched multiple black spikes protrude from the black shield on Eru’s left hand, shooting their way through the ogre’s body.
“Urgh”, the ogre clutched onto its body in pain; blood spurted from the holes made by the black spikes. The ogre glared at Eru hatefully before slumping to the ground, its eyes lifeless after a while as life came out from its body. “So, it’s just a shield that grew spikes”, Long commented, still not impressed. “What do you mean?” Eru sighed, “It’s not just spikes that this baby can form. Watch again.” After that, Eru willed the black gauntlet on his left hand to form another shape. The black shield on Eru’s gauntlet slowly changed into a large net which Eru used to splat the ogre’s corpse to a mesh of bloody pulp.
“See?” Eru widened his eyes, “I could make this turn into any shape that I like. Be it a protective shield, a shield that spurted out spikes or even this giant net.” Long slightly furrowed his eyebrows, “I guess it’s a neat item, I guess”, he shrugged. “Hey, what’s with this energy?” Eru shook his head, “Anyway, shall we go back now?” Long nodded, “Sure. Although usually I don’t like doing things most humans do, but I would like a good long sleep on a comfy bed for a while”, Long said.

A few moments earlier, when Eru had not yet come out from the destroyed underground bunker hidden in the middle of Coast Forest, the armoured woman, which was carrying Sydney on her back and the blue-haired female soldier finally arrived at Sylphid Academy. Upon arriving there, the armoured woman, Sydney and the blue-haired female soldier were greeted by Principal Helga personally with a smile on the latter’s face. “I take it it’s a job well done”, Principal Helga said. The armoured woman nodded, “It is. Although we don’t know yet about Eru since he refused to escape with us as the underground bunker exploded”, the armoured woman said.
Principal Helga furrowed her eyebrows, “Would you mind telling me about it?” she asked. “Sure. But, these two behind me needed some help first”, the armoured woman said while pointing behind her with her thumb. “Oh, how silly of me”, Principal Helga took out her staff from out of nowhere. “Heal”, Principal Helga softly chanted as green mana particles surrounded the armoured woman, Sydney and the blue-haired female soldier. The green mana particles slowly trickled down from the air, touching the armoured woman, Sydney and the blue-haired female soldier’s skin. After a while, Sydney could feel that energy return to her body and the soreness she felt previously was gone.
The blue-haired female soldier felt that her fatigue was lessening, and the visible wounds on her body slowly started to heal themselves. The armoured woman, too, could feel that her exhaustion and her wounds rapidly healed themselves. “Whoa”, the blue-haired female soldier exclaimed, “As expected from you, Principal Helga. Your healing spell works wonder”, she said with sparkly eyes. Sydney jumped out from the armoured woman’s back, “Thank you, Principal”, she bowed in gratitude. The armoured woman looked at the blue-haired female soldier and Sydney before turning to Principal Helga, “Thank you.” Principal Helga waved her hand, “Oh, it’s nothing. So, ready to talk now?”
The armoured woman nodded, “Girls, I’m going to go with the principal for a bit. Go ahead and rest up. You both earn this.” Sydney and the blue-haired female soldier nodded simultaneously before leaving together, leaving the armoured woman and Principal Helga alone. “How about we talk in my office?” Principal Helga offered. “Sure”, the armoured woman said. “Hold tight”, Principal Helga smiled before stabbing her staff on the ground. “What the—” the armoured woman stood confused as light suddenly enveloped her and Principal Helga.
