Chapter 237: Chapter 237
“Unbelievable”, Alexandro’s mouth was agape after hearing the armoured woman’s story. “Yeah”, the armoured woman nodded, “All of what I’m saying is true.” Deddy gasped for air as he panted hard on his spot, “All those horrible people I kidnapped… You’re telling me that the Demonic Cult used them for experiments to create monsters?” The armoured woman crossed her arms and nodded, “I’m sorry to say, but yeah, they were created into a monster and human hybrid.” Deddy put his palm on his forehead, “Holy mother Vaizeu, what have I done?” Deddy lamented. Eru looked at Deddy with confusion in his eyes.
Alexandro, noticing Eru’s gaze, threw a glance at Eru before shaking his head. Eru nodded in understanding before throwing his attention elsewhere. “So, when the time comes, we are expecting at least an army of monstrous creatures equal to that of a 2nd Grade Aura Master?” Alexandro asked with furrowed eyebrows. “Yes, and expect worse. There are also a lot of creatures that are stronger than a 2nd Grade Aura Master, even reaching that of a 4th Grade Aura Master”, the armoured woman replied. “Then, this is not good”, Alexandro rubbed his chin, “We need more force to contend against them.” Just as Alexandro had said that the door to his office was knocked.
“Who is it?” Alexandro asked. “It’s me, guild master. A person by the name of Sydney is here to see you”, a familiar woman’s voice resounded behind the door. “Come in”, Alexandro said, and the voice behind the door revealed herself. Sydney and the bob-cut, ginger-haired receptionist, May, were standing together. “Oh, perfect, Miss May, please come in”, Alexandro waved his hand. “And Captain Sydney, welcome, welcome”, Alexandro said while waving his hand, closing the door to his office remotely with his aura. May looked at everyone inside the room before finding Eru. Eru waved his hand, which May just nodded in response.
“To what do I owe this visit, Captain Sydney?” Alexandro leaned into his hands. “I came here to deliver this”, Sydney put the letter on Alexandro’s table, “And to tell you that Master Duncan will be cooperating with you fully in your operation.” Alexandro opened the letter, “Really? I thought D/D Group would always maintain their neutrality?” Sydney shook her head, “It all changes when the Demonic Cult got involved. Master Duncan loathed the Demonic Cult with all of his might”, Sydney said. Alexandro furrowed his eyebrows before folding the letter in his hands, “Alright. Please tell Duncan my gratitude.” Sydney bowed, “I will.” After that, Sydney walked to stand behind Eru.
“Hmm? You are not leaving, Captain Sydney?” Alexandro asked. “I came here to deliver Master Duncan’s message. And now I’m here as teacher Eru’s disciple”, Sydney explained politely. Alexandro slightly raised his eyebrows, “Is that so?” he scrutinized Eru. Eru winced a little, “Please don’t look at me like that. It’s not nice to stare at people for so long”, Eru quipped. “Haha, sorry, sorry”, Alexandro waved his hand while scratching his cheek. ‘It’s hard to believe that the young man in front of me is the champion of Aeolus Great Fighting Competition and the one that almost single-handedly saved Sylphid Academy,’ Alexandro thought inside of his head. Then, Alexandro’s expression turned serious, “Now, since I think everyone is already here, let us continue from where we left off.”
“Syndra, will you please,” Alexandro said with a smile. “Sure”, the armoured woman stepped forward, “Apart from these monstrous creatures that we will have to deal with later, there is also the mayor, his personal army and the Sylphid City’s finest soldier”, she said with a frown. “Deddy can tell you about that,” Alexandro gestured with his hand. “Okay,” Deddy stood up. After that, Deddy told everyone inside the room what he knew of. What were the mayor’s forces were like, and all of of his father’s allies. “That’s—” the armoured woman’s mouth was slightly agape. “What’s wrong?” Alexandro asked. “Is it too much?” May furrowed her eyebrows. “No, it’s less than I thought”, the armoured woman rubbed her chin.
“Less than you thought? What do you mean?” Deddy asked. “It means what it means,” the armoured woman crossed her arms, “It means that we can pull the other forces to us, give us more numbers to fight with”, the armoured woman explained. “How do we do that, love? From what I understand, those guys did not like me very much”, Alexandro said. The armoured woman smiled, “Don’t worry about that. I’ll sort it out for us after this.” Alexandro lowered his head, “Hmm, I will leave the matter about the other army to you. And what about the rest of the adventurers, Miss May?” he asked. “They are ready and able to move right on command”, May replied while slightly lowering her head.
“Great”, Alexandro raised his head with a merry expression, “We are almost there. Once we get all the pieces assembled, we can proceed with our plan.” The armoured woman crossed her arms while slightly tilting her head, “What plan? All I heard of your plan was always vague. Don’t try to be mysterious to me, or you will be sleeping on the couches”, the armoured woman snorted. Alexandro waved his hand, flustered, “No, no, love, it’s not like I intended it to be vague. I just don’t want others to know it before the day we fight.” The armoured woman cracked her knuckles, “You will tell me, or else.” Eru chuckled, “Why don’t we leave these two lovebirds alone, guys?” The rest of the people there quietly laughed to themselves before leaving with Eru. “No, guys, please, I’m not done yet….” Alexandro’s face was pale as he watched his wife get closer to him. “Now, we have a lot to catch up to”, the armoured woman smiled.

“Welcome back, Eru, Long”, Duncan spread his arms with a smile, “It must have been a tough journey for the both of you.” Then, Duncan turned his attention towards Meng Huo, “And who are you, esteemed guest? Are you Eru’s friend?” he asked. “More like I’m his subordinate. My name is Meng Huo” Meng Huo introduced himself while slightly bowing. “Oh”, Duncan quickly turned his head toward Aelgh, “And you, young lady?” Aelgh curtsey bowed, “It is an honour to meet you, senior Duncan. My name is Aelgh, Principal Helga’s personal disciple.” After hearing this, Duncan nearly jumped off his seat, “Principal Helga’s personal disciple?” Duncan exclaimed with his eyes opened wide.
“I-it’s a pleasure to meet you”, Duncan’s eyes were glistening, looking at Aelgh. Eru approached Sydney quietly, “What’s wrong with him?” he whispered. “Oh, Master Duncan always idolized Principal Helga. He always does his best to meet Principal Helga if possible”, Sydney softly said under her breath. “Ooh”, Eru said with a look of understanding. “Humph! What’s so great about that woman anyway….” Long grunted while crossing his arms. Eru smirked, “What, you’re jealous?” Long turned his head sideways, “Of course not. I just don’t understand how can a person goes head over heels for someone else”, Long said. “Yeah, like you’re one to talk”, Sydney snorted.
“Haha”, Eru scratched his chin as he watched Sydney and Long glare at each other. Duncan proceeded to have a small talk with Aelgh, asking the latter about Principal Helga and how it feels like to be her personal disciple. This made Eru laugh inside, ‘Little did Duncan know that the girl in front of him is Principal Helga herself,’ Eru thought inside of his head. Meanwhile, Aelgh was having a hard time answering the question Duncan threw at her. After a while, Rex, Sydney’s father, came inside the room, “Reporting, sir!” he saluted. Duncan straightened his posture immediately while Aelgh breathed a sigh of relief, “What’s wrong, Rex?” Duncan coughed before asking. “Our men are ready and able to move at any time”, Rex reported.
“Good”, Duncan nodded, “Have them on standby and ready at all times. But, be very careful not to alert anybody.” Rex saluted, “Yes, sir!” he said before leaving. After that, Duncan looked at Sydney, “How is the meeting with Alexandro?” he asked. “It’s good. We will hear more from him tomorrow. Until then, Alexandro told me that we need to prepare ourselves,” Sydney reported, “Oh, and he also left you a letter.” Sydney gave the letter to Duncan, which he skimmed shortly. “Good”, Duncan nodded before folding the letter in his hand. After that, Duncan looked at Sydney, “It’s getting late. Why don’t you escort our guests here to their room?” Sydney nodded, “Yes, sir”, then Sydney looked at Eru, Long, Meng Huo and Aelgh, “Will you all please follow me.”
Just as Eru was about to follow Sydney outside, Duncan stopped him, “Eru, can you please stay here with me for a while?” Duncan asked. “Sure”, Eru said, stopping himself from following Sydney. “Please, sit”, Duncan gestured with his hand. “What did you want to talk with me about?” Eru inquired. Duncan scrutinized the young man in front of him before smiling, “If I may be so bold, is your father’s name by any chance, Rudy?”
