Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 239

Chapter 239

Chapter 239: Chapter 239

“Bye, big brother!” Damian waved his tiny little hand inside of Diane’s embrace. “Haha. That kid always yearns for a big brother. I wonder what he’ll be like if he was a big brother himself,” Duncan muttered, “Right, follow me.” Duncan led Eru upstairs, right beside the dining room, and there was a double door. “Here we are. Come on in”, Duncan said as he used his two slightly larger hands to open the double door. “Whoa, what is this?” Eru asked with amazement. He saw a room with a large projector and what looked like a camera in each corner of the room. “This is the new prototype, state of the art communication device. They call this one video projection, and a room with video projection is called a video conference room”, Duncan explained with a hint of pride in his tone.

“Video conference room?” Eru exclaimed while still observing the room. “Uh-huh”, Duncan nodded, “This room allowed us to communicate with people halfway across the world, and it even displayed our image too. The only drawback to this is that the other party also needed to have one of this also”, Duncan explained. Then, Duncan walked into the projector and pressed a button, “Your parents should have one of these also in your house”, Duncan said as the projector turned on. “Really? How come I never know of this?” Eru slightly furrowed his eyebrows. “I’ll just send one of these a few weeks ago. Maybe you already left by then”, Duncan casually said while adjusting a crystal-like object on top of the projector.

“There”, Duncan smiled as the crystal-like object glowed blue. “Now, we just need to input Rudy’s device code—” Duncan rummaged through the book laid on the table. “It should be this”, Duncan input a code into the side of the projector. After that, the crystal-like object on top of the projector lit up even more, and the projector started to hum. “Got it!” Duncan exclaimed, “Now, we just need to wait until your parents answer the call.” However, after waiting for a few minutes, the projector still hummed with no sign of changing. “Uh, is this supposed to happen?” Eru asked. “No, no. Of course, not”, Duncan rapidly shook his head, “They just did not pick up, that’s all.”

“Hmm”, Eru crossed his arms while slightly tilting his head, “Let me ask you something.” Duncan furrowed his eyebrows, “Shoot”, he said. “Are any of this equipment need to be set up first?” Eru asked. “Of course they do”, Duncan nodded. “Well, maybe that’s the problem”, Eru scratched his head in embarrassment, “If you knew my father, would he be capable of setting this up?” Duncan sighed, “No, he would not. But, I know that Anna could set it up. After all, she did set up the state of the art training room I sent them before.” Eru’s eyes widened, “You’re the one that sent those?” Duncan nodded, “Yes, I did. But, apparently, it took her long to set up because Rudy forgot about it.”

Then, Eru and Duncan stared at each other before sighing all at the same time. “I’m so sorry”, Eru slightly bowed his head, “It looks like my father forgot about it.” Duncan sighed in exasperation, “No, no. You don’t have to apologize. After all, it’s me that pestered you to contact your parents. But I’m amazed. To think that the son of the man who saved me years ago saved me again. Life truly works wonder, huh” Duncan said with a smile. “My father saved you?” Eru slightly raised his eyebrows. “Yeah, it all happened twenty years ago. Your father and his party saved me from the hands of the Demonic Cult. If it were not for Rudy, I did not know what would happen to me that time”, Duncan said.

“Please, do forgive me for going on with my words”, Duncan chuckled, “You must be tired after the long journey. Please, feel free to rest up for today.” Eru smiled, “Thank you for the hospitalities.” After that, Eru left the video conference room, leaving Duncan alone. “Hah”, Duncan sighed, “Almost going on another tangent on Demonic Cult. Hold it, Duncan, hold it”, he muttered under his breath.

“What do you mean you can’t find it!?” a fairly large man with a curly moustache slammed his desk, barking at the attendant before him with anger and frustration. “I’m sorry, Mr Mayor, we already looked everywhere for the file, but we still could not find it”, the attendant said with a lowered head. “Then look harder, you fucking idiot”, the large man with a curly moustache yelled, making the attendant flinch. Right after that, the door to the large man with a curly moustache was opened suddenly. “Oh, commander. Please tell me some good news”, the large man with a curly moustache shook his head while sighing.

“I have good news and bad news”, the commander said while saluting. The large man with a curly moustache rubbed his forehead, “Please tell me the bad news first. I want to get angry all at the same time”, he said. “Alright, the bad news it is”, the commander straightened his posture. Then, the commander slightly glanced at the attendant, and the large man with a curly moustache caught this. “Go on, leave us alone”, the large man with a curly moustache waved his hand. “Yes, sir”, the attendant repeatedly bowed before leaving. “Now, commander, please speak”, the large man with a curly moustache leaned on his table.

“Ahem”, the commander cleared his throat, “We have found the file, Mr Mayor”, he said with a heavy tone. “Really? Where?” the large man with a curly moustache’s eyebrows raised, “Is it not good news, this one?” he asked. “Where we find it, sir is the problem”, the commander said. The large man with a curly moustache furrowed his eyebrows, “Where?” he asked. “It’s in Alexandro’s hand”, the commander said while bracing himself. “What!?” the large man with a curly moustache stood up, slamming the table; he added, “What do you mean the file is in Alexandro’s hand? How did he even get that file, to begin with? Incompetence!” he barked.

“Hah, hah, hah”, the large man with a curly moustache panted hard, “And the good news?” he turned his head at the commander, glaring at him intensely. “A-about that, the man in black said that his army is ready and able to be deployed”, the commander said with a slight stutter because of fear and trepidation. The large man with a curly moustache sat on his chair, sighing exasperatedly, “Finally, something good. Okay, you can go now, commander” he waved his hand. “Sir”, the commander saluted before leaving the large man with a curly moustache alone. The large man with a curly moustache rubbed his moustache with an ugly expression, “Damn it! All my plans started to come apart. No matter, as long as I have ‘that’, I won’t care about anything else.”

Soon after that, a man cloaked in black suddenly emerged behind the large man with a curly moustache, “That? Do you have something that you did not tell me?” the man cloaked in black asked with a hoarse and serious tone. “What the—” the large man with a curly moustache jumped from his seat. The man cloaked in black approached the large man with a curly moustache slowly while releasing a little bit of his pressure and killing intent, “Tell me, what did you hide?” he pressed his cloaked face right before the large man with a curly moustache’s face. The latter was drenched in sweat as the large man with a curly moustache walked backwards slowly, “There’s nothing, sir. Nothing that I would hide from you”, he said with a stutter.

“Don’t lie to me”, the man cloaked in black waved his hand, and a wooden rod emerged in his hand. “Bind”, the man cloaked in black softly chanted. After that, purple chains emerged from the ground, binding and chaining the large man with a curly moustache down. “Tell me the truth, now!” the man cloaked in black shouted as he placed his head right in front of the large man with a curly moustache’s head. “There is nothing to tell. I don’t hide anything from you”, the large man with a curly moustache said while struggling to get himself out from the purple chains that bound him.

“Tell me!” the man cloaked in black barked, “What are you hiding?” he stomped the floor, causing the entire building to shake. “I-I won’t tell you”, the large man with a curly moustache gritted his teeth. The man cloaked in black’s mouth curled up into a smile, “Finally, you admitted to me that you are hiding something”, he said. “Now, I have a valid reason for using this spell on you”, the man cloaked in black added; he took out a stone with a purple, runic symbol engraved on its surface. “You should have told me from the beginning. Now, you are going to suffer pain worse than death.”
