Chapter 240: Chapter 240
“We have found the file, Mr Mayor”, he said with a heavy tone. “Really? Where?” the large man with a curly moustache’s eyebrows raised, “Is it not good news, this one?” he asked. “Where we find it, sir is the problem”, the commander said. The large man with a curly moustache furrowed his eyebrows, “Where?” he asked. “It’s in Alexandro’s hand”, the commander said while bracing himself. “What!?” the large man with a curly moustache stood up, slamming the table; he added, “What do you mean the file is in Alexandro’s hand? How did he even get that file, to begin with? Incompetence!” he barked.
“Hah, hah, hah”, the large man with a curly moustache panted hard, “And the good news?” he turned his head at the commander, glaring at him intensely. “A-about that, the man in black said that his army is ready and able to be deployed”, the commander said with a slight stutter because of fear and trepidation. The large man with a curly moustache sat on his chair, sighing exasperatedly, “Finally, something good. Okay, you can go now, commander” he waved his hand. “Sir”, the commander saluted before leaving the large man with a curly moustache alone. The large man with a curly moustache rubbed his moustache with an ugly expression, “Damn it! All my plans started to come apart. No matter, as long as I have ‘that’, I won’t care about anything else.”
Soon after that, a man cloaked in black suddenly emerged behind the large man with a curly moustache, “That? Do you have something that you did not tell me?” the man cloaked in black asked with a hoarse and serious tone. “What the—” the large man with a curly moustache jumped from his seat. The man cloaked in black approached the large man with a curly moustache slowly while releasing a little bit of his pressure and killing intent, “Tell me, what did you hide?” he pressed his cloaked face right before the large man with a curly moustache’s face. The latter was drenched in sweat as the large man with a curly moustache walked backwards slowly, “There’s nothing, sir. Nothing that I would hide from you”, he said with a stutter.
“Don’t lie to me”, the man cloaked in black waved his hand, and a wooden rod emerged in his hand. “Bind”, the man cloaked in black softly chanted. After that, purple chains emerged from the ground, binding and chaining the large man with a curly moustache down. “Tell me the truth, now!” the man cloaked in black shouted as he placed his head right in front of the large man with a curly moustache’s head. “There is nothing to tell. I don’t hide anything from you”, the large man with a curly moustache said while struggling to get himself out from the purple chains that bound him.
“Tell me!” the man cloaked in black barked, “What are you hiding?” he stomped the floor, causing the entire building to shake. “I-I won’t tell you”, the large man with a curly moustache gritted his teeth. The man cloaked in black’s mouth curled up into a smile, “Finally, you admitted to me that you are hiding something”, he said. “Now, I have a valid reason for using this spell on you”, the man cloaked in black added; he took out a stone with a purple, runic symbol engraved on its surface. “You should have told me from the beginning. Now, you are going to suffer pain worse than death”, the man in the black cloak grinned as he put the stone closer to the large man with a curly moustache’s forehead.
“Argh!” the large man with a curly moustache screamed in pain as his torture had only just begun.

“Hah”, Eru sighed, laying down on his bed with his hand behind his head. “First a fighting championship, then a conspiracy and now, a crazy cult. Wow, my life is more eventful now than back then”, Eru softly muttered under his breath. “More exciting? What do you mean by that?” suddenly, a woman’s voice resounded right beside Eru’s ear, making the latter jump in surprise. “What the— You again?” Eru exclaimed while pointing his finger at the source. “Yo”, a certain silver-haired woman waved at Eru while casually sitting right on his bed. “Hah”, Eru sighed while shaking his head, “Why the hell are you always appearing like this?” he said in exasperation. “Why not? Wouldn’t you like it if a beautiful woman like me appeared suddenly on your bed?” Aelgh slightly tilted her head.
“Yeah, if it’s the one I love. Not just any woman, you know”, Eru snorted. “Aw”, Aelgh pouted slightly, “You don’t like me?” Eru shook his head, “Nope”, he said. Aelgh smirked, “Fine”. She shrugged her shoulders before standing up, “So, tell me about these trials of yours. Surely your Fate Helper gave you, what do youngsters say these days, quest?” Aelgh asked while stretching her body. “You can show those to other people?” Eru squinted his eyes. Aelgh grinned, “Nope. If you say it, you will get paralyzed”, she said casually. “Then, why do you ask?” Eru shook his head.
“Because it’s fun”, Aelgh said with an innocent smile, “Watching Fate Master get paralyzed, I mean. I used to enjoy it watching them.” Eru sighed, “Well, I don’t enjoy it. Anything else? If not, then let me rest in peace.” Aelgh pouted, “Aw, you don’t want me here anymore?” Eru stood up, pushing Aelgh out of his room, “Nope, out.” Right after that, Eru slammed his door shut and then locked it, leaving Aelgh right outside of his room. Aelgh giggled, “Haha, this kid is always fun to interact with. I wonder, what did he mean by previous life?” Aelgh rubbed her chin, pondering while walking away.

“Haah, here we go again”, The armoured woman stood in front of Sylphid City’s barracks, readying herself for a battle of words that was about to happen. The armoured woman slowly approached the entrance of the barracks with steady steps. “Oh, Commander Syndra, welcome back”, greeted one of the two soldiers that guard the entrance. “Un”, the armoured woman nodded, “Is General Ludwig inside?” she asked. “He should be”, the soldier replied, “I have not seen him come out yet.” The armoured woman nodded, “Thanks” she flashed a smile before slowly walking inside the barracks. “Welcome back, Commander Syndra”, greeted another soldier that walked past her.
“Good to have you back, Commander Syndra”, said another soldier, but this time is a female soldier. The armoured woman just nodded to all of their greetings as she continued to walk forward. Eventually, the armoured woman arrived in front of a room guarded by a single soldier. “Commander Syndra”, a soldier with a fair appearance and slightly long, brown hair greeted the armoured woman, “I am glad that you are back from your expedition. To what do I owe this visit?” he asked while raising his head. “I’m here to meet General Ludwig. Is he inside, Charlie?” the armoured woman inquired. Charlie, the long, brown-haired soldier, nodded, “He is. But he is meeting someone right now. If you, please kindly wait for a while, I’m sure General Ludwig will make time for you.”
“Meeting with someone? Who?” the armoured woman furrowed her eyebrows. ‘It will be bad if he was meeting with the mayor’s side,’ the armoured woman thought to herself. Charlie squinted his eyes, “I’m afraid I can’t say”, he smiled mysteriously, “But if you want to, you can wait here and see for yourself who General Ludwig is meeting with.” The armoured woman crossed her arms, “Sure. I’ll wait right over here”, she said while leaning into a wall. “Thank you for your patience, Commander Syndra. Now, let me inform General Ludwig of your arrival” Charlie slightly bowed before entering General Ludwig’s office. While Charlie was opening the door, the armoured woman tried sneaking a peek inside of General Ludwig’s office.
Unfortunately for the armoured woman, Charlie was fast with his hand as he swiftly closed the office’s door, not leaving the armoured woman a chance to peek inside. “Tch”, the armoured woman clicked her tongue, “What a crafty kid”, she scoffed. Shortly after that, the door to General Ludwig’s office opened, and Charlie emerged from inside. “General Ludwig will soon finish his meeting. He will see you after that, Commander Syndra”, Charlie said with an annoying smile. The armoured woman nodded, “Sure, thanks”, she said before slightly lowering her head. After waiting for half an hour, finally, the armoured woman heard the door to General Ludwig’s office creak open.
The armoured woman slightly raised her eyebrows, ‘I wonder who it is,’ she wondered inside of his head. Not long after that, General Ludwig’s figure could be seen emerging from his office, alongside a figure of a woman. “Who is that?” the armoured woman furrowed her eyebrows, “Is it General Ludwig’s lover?” she pondered. General Ludwig scratched his head, “Damn it, Angelica. You always had unreasonable demands”,
