“Haah, here we go again”, The armoured woman stood in front of Sylphid City’s barracks, readying herself for a battle of words that was about to happen. The armoured woman slowly approached the entrance of the barracks with steady steps. “Oh, Commander Syndra, welcome back”, greeted one of the two soldiers that guard the entrance. “Un”, the armoured woman nodded, “Is General Ludwig inside?” she asked. “He should be”, the soldier replied, “I have not seen him come out yet.” The armoured woman nodded, “Thanks” she flashed a smile before slowly walking inside the barracks. “Welcome back, Commander Syndra”, greeted another soldier that walked past her.
“Good to have you back, Commander Syndra”, said another soldier, but this time is a female soldier. The armoured woman just nodded to all of their greetings as she continued to walk forward. Eventually, the armoured woman arrived in front of a room guarded by a single soldier. “Commander Syndra”, a soldier with a fair appearance and slightly long, brown hair greeted the armoured woman, “I am glad that you are back from your expedition. To what do I owe this visit?” he asked while raising his head. “I’m here to meet General Ludwig. Is he inside, Charlie?” the armoured woman inquired. Charlie, the long, brown-haired soldier, nodded, “He is. But he is meeting someone right now. If you, please kindly wait for a while, I’m sure General Ludwig will make time for you.”
“Meeting with someone? Who?” the armoured woman furrowed her eyebrows. ‘It will be bad if he was meeting with the mayor’s side,’ the armoured woman thought to herself. Charlie squinted his eyes, “I’m afraid I can’t say”, he smiled mysteriously, “But if you want to, you can wait here and see for yourself who General Ludwig is meeting with.” The armoured woman crossed her arms, “Sure. I’ll wait right over here”, she said while leaning into a wall. “Thank you for your patience, Commander Syndra. Now, let me inform General Ludwig of your arrival” Charlie slightly bowed before entering General Ludwig’s office. While Charlie was opening the door, the armoured woman tried sneaking a peek inside of General Ludwig’s office.
Unfortunately for the armoured woman, Charlie was fast with his hand as he swiftly closed the office’s door, not leaving the armoured woman a chance to peek inside. “Tch”, the armoured woman clicked her tongue, “What a crafty kid”, she scoffed. Shortly after that, the door to General Ludwig’s office opened, and Charlie emerged from inside. “General Ludwig will soon finish his meeting. He will see you after that, Commander Syndra”, Charlie said with an annoying smile. The armoured woman nodded, “Sure, thanks”, she said before slightly lowering her head. After waiting for half an hour, finally, the armoured woman heard the door to General Ludwig’s office creak open.
The armoured woman slightly raised her eyebrows, ‘I wonder who it is,’ she wondered inside of his head. Not long after that, General Ludwig’s figure could be seen emerging from his office, alongside a figure of a woman. “Who is that?” the armoured woman furrowed her eyebrows, “Is it General Ludwig’s lover?” she pondered. General Ludwig scratched his head, “Damn it, Angelica. You always had unreasonable demands”, he said after sighing. “Well, you would not want to refuse a request from an old friend, right?” the woman called Angelica said with a smile. “Hah, fine. If I ever come across your brother, I would help him out. But, remember, this is the last time I would do you a favour”, General Ludwig said while slightly sulking.
Angelica grinned, “You always said that, but again and again, you backed out from your words”, she said teasingly. Angelica put her body close to General Ludwig’s body, “Maybe, just maybe, you like me?” General Ludwig flicked Angelica’s forehead, “You know I do. You’re my girlfriend, gosh darn it”, he grunted. Angelica giggled, “Hehe, glad you finally know your place”, she said while spinning around, “Then, I’m going to dip. I get the feeling the next couple of days will not be peaceful.” General Ludwig sighed in exasperation, “What a freaking drag. Say hello to Evan for me”, he said as his lips slightly curled up into a smile. “Will do. Bye, love”, Angelica winked. After that, she materialized a wooden staff from the air as a magic circle surrounded her.
“Teleportation?” the armoured woman squinted her eyes as she watched the woman called Angelica disappear from her spot. “It is”, General Ludwig approached the armoured woman, “Now, what do you want to talk about?” The armoured woman was slightly startled, “Oh, can we talk inside of your office?” General Ludwig put his arms behind his back, “Sure. Come.” After that, General Ludwig led the armoured woman into his office. Along the way, however, the armoured woman’s eyes met with Charlie, and the latter gave her a sly smile. “Grr”, the armoured woman grumbled as General Ludwig closed the door to his office. General Ludwig sat on his chair, slightly leaning back while staring at the armoured woman intensely, “What do you want, Commander Syndra?” he asked with a cold tone.

While the armoured woman was talking with General Ludwig, Alexandro, her husband, was sitting in his office, meeting a peculiar figure that he could not afford to offend. “Welcome, welcome. To what do I owe the commander of the Royal Army with that he would visit me personally?” Alexandro asked while rubbing his hands. The commander of the Royal Army in front of Alexandro had short, blonde hair and fair skin plus a handsome appearance, making Sylphid City’s adventurers’ guild master slightly envious. The commander of the Royal Army opened the letter in his hands, “This letter is written by you, right?” he asked while staring at Alexandro.
“Why, of course”, Alexandro said with a small smile. “Then, are what you said in this letter true?” the commander of the Royal Army squinted his eyes, scrutinizing the adventurer’s guild master carefully. Alexandro’s expression changed to be more serious, “Yes, all of them are true. I have proof of that in my possession.” Then, the commander of the Royal Army furrowed his eyebrows, “Can you give them to me?” he asked. “No”, Alexandro firmly declined, “I am sorry, but I don’t think I can do that.” The commander of the Royal Army crossed his arms, “This is an order, guild master. I don’t think you have the right to refuse”, he said, asserting his dominance.
“Even more so when it is an order. I will not give it to you no matter what happens. At least until all of these are over”, Alexandro stood firm in his decisions. “Do you really want to oppose me, guild master?” the commander of the Royal Army exerted his prowess, creating a pressure using his powerful aura. “Guh”, Alexandro grunted, ‘What pressure. As expected from a commander of the Royal Army,’ he thought inside of his head. Seeing that Alexandro was trying his hardest to resist his pressure and watching the guild master’s stubbornness throughout his eyes, the commander of the Royal Army sighed, “Fine, you can hold on to it for now”, he said while releasing his pressure.
“Hah, hah, hah”, Alexandro panted heavily, “As expected from the youngest commander of the Royal Army, your reputation precedes you”, he said with a wry smile. “You are not bad yourself. I could count with one hand people that managed to withstand my pressure and still smile at the end”, the commander of the Royal Army said casually. “Hehe, thanks”, Alexandro grinned; however, inwardly, Alexandro thought, ‘You damn bastard! I nearly died withstanding your pressure just for a few seconds, and you’re praising me? Damn, handsome bastard,’ he cursed in his mind.
The commander of the Royal Army relaxed his posture, “I know that look. People often looked at me like that when I tried to genuinely praise them. I bet that you’re cursing me inside of your head, right, guild master?” he asked while smirking. “N-no, of course not. I don’t know what you’re talking about”, Alexandro stuttered while waving his hand. ‘Fuck, is this guy a mind reader or something?’ Alexandro gritted his teeth. “Heh”, the commander of the Royal Army grinned, “I bet right now you are thinking, ‘Fuck, is this guy a mind reader or something,’ right? Worry not, I am not a mind reader”, the commander of the Royal Army casually said. Alexandro flinched when he heard the commander of the Royal Army’s words.
“Haha, it’s always fun when I do this to people”, the commander of the Royal Army chuckled. “Although I want to continue this for a while, I think I should stop playing around. Now tell me, guild master, about this plan of yours to uproot the corruption of Sylphid City’s government”, the commander of the Royal Army said, looking at the guild master intensely. However, before Alexandro was about to say something, someone opened the door to his office. “Yo, Alexandro! I came for that carbonated water of yours” a familiar raven-haired young man entered the room, which caused Alexandro to facepalm. “Huh? Big brother? Why are you here?”
