“Who wants to go first?” General Ludwig smirked as he looked at Aelgh, Long and Meng Huo. Long furrowed his eyebrows, he looked at Eru with a hint of disappointment. Long eyes said, “Why should I face this guy?” Eru smiled wryly before shrugging his shoulders, “Deal with it”, Eru replied with his eyes. Long sighed, “Fine, I’ll go first”, Long said before taking out his iconic red staff. “You are a mage, right?” General Ludwig asked. “I am; what of it?” Long replied while taking on his stance. “Interesting. You took a melee stance despite being a mage”, General Ludwig commented. “Are we here to fight, or are we here to blab?” Long quipped. “Hahaha”, Evan could not hold his laughter, “I like this guy.”
“Haha, me too”, General Ludwig smiled before he flashed forward towards Long. Long was startled, “What the—” he exclaimed while raising his red staff. With a bang, General Ludwig’s trident clashed against Long’s red staff, creating sparks in the air. “Not a bad reaction; however, it’s not good enough”, General Ludwig said before brandishing his trident again at Long. “Damn it!” Long could only curse silently, facing General Ludwig’s relentless attacks. “Hmm, this young general is not bad. He’s quite capable in his move”, Meng Huo commented while crossing his arms. “What do you think, young master Eru? Could master Long win this fight?” Meng Huo asked, turning his head at Eru.
“It’s hard to tell. So far, General Ludwig only used martial moves against Long. He still did not use his aura to fight” Eru furrowed his eyebrows. Aelgh yawned, “What’s so interesting about men fighting with sticks? If it was me, I would just quickly blow them up”, Aelgh uttered. “Haha”, Meng Huo chuckled while scratching his head. Eru squinted his eyes as he watched Long struggling against General Ludwig. “What’s wrong, kid? That all you’ve got?” General Ludwig taunted. “Tch”, Long clicked his tongue before trying to counterattack General Ludwig. However, the latter was way too skilful for Long as he continued to parry every single attempt from Long. “Fuck you!” Long cursed out loud before a red magic circle appeared below his feet. “Boom, fucker!” Long snapped his fingers as a fairly large explosion suddenly engulfed both him and General Ludwig, creating a wall of smoke around them afterwards.
Eru sighed at the sight of this, while Meng Huo nodded with a smile. “An amazing display of bravery”, Meng Huo praised. Aelgh chuckled, “That red-haired kid is not so bad. To even dare use his own body to trap the general is daring.” Evan and Angelica that stood on the sideline, all had their mouths agape. “The audacity of that kid”, Angelica scoffed, “Although I know that Ludwig will be fine, I can’t believe that red-haired kid. To think he dared to explode himself alongside the enemy….” Evan lightly chuckled, “Haha, you are right. That red-haired kid is amazing. I would have him under me if I could”, he commented. “Hahahaha”, sounds of laughter resounded from within the smoke, “What a daring young man. I like you, I really like you.”
General Ludwig’s hand came out from within the smoke while holding on to Long’s neck. “Rah!” General Ludwig shouted while throwing Long toward a nearby wall. “Guh”, Long landed on his bottom as he slid from the wall. As the smoke cleared, the sight of General Ludwig’s unscratched body revealed itself. General Ludwig looked at Meng Huo and Aelgh before twirling his trident, “Unfortunately for you, I am all fired up. Now, who wants to go next?” General Ludwig said as he pointed the tip of his trident towards Meng Huo and Aelgh. “Interesting. I want to go next” Meng Huo cracked his knuckles as he stepped forward. “You fight barehanded?” General Ludwig asked. “Is there a problem with that?” Meng Huo slightly raised his eyebrows. “No problem. Come!” General Ludwig said.
However, instead of Meng Huo, that charged toward General Ludwig, Long got up from the ground and proceeded to propel himself at General Ludwig. “You bastard!” Long shouted as he brandished his red staff at the young general. “Hah, still not satisfied? Your turn is over. Go watch in the sideline”, General Ludwig said as he blocked Long’s red staff. Then, General Ludwig used his trident to pull Long toward him before kicking him away. Long flew through the air before crashing at Eru. Fortunately, Eru caught Long just in time and instead of crashing to the wall again, Long ended up in Eru’s embrace. “You alright?” Eru asked. “I’m fine”, Long brushed Eru aside, “Thanks”, Long said before readying himself to charge again.
However, before Long could do that, Eru grabbed Long’s shoulder, “Take it easy. We will be fighting again after this. Don’t use all your strength”, Eru warned. Long slightly lowered his head before nodding, “You are right, brother Eru.” After Long said that, Long put away his red staff before looking at General Ludwig. “Tch, I’ll remember this. You won for now”, Long scoffed before standing right next to Eru. “Haha, I’ll be waiting”, General Ludwig chuckled before turning his head at Meng Huo. “Shall we start?” General Ludwig asked while pointing his trident at Meng Huo. “Sure, I can’t wait”, Meng Huo clenched his fist.
Right after that, Meng Huo’s fists each glowed different colours. His right fist glowed red while his left fist glowed blue. “Hmm? What is this? You’re a mage?” General Ludwig furrowed his eyebrows. He observed Meng Huo more closely, ‘Never expected this burly man to be a mage,’ General Ludwig thought to himself. “What? I’m not allowed to be a mage?” Meng Huo squinted his eyes. “Oh, no, no. I’m just surprised”, General Ludwig said. “Oh, okay”, Meng Huo shrugged his shoulders. Suddenly, however, Meng Huo rushed out from his spot. “What the—” General Ludwig exclaimed as Meng Huo suddenly appeared right in front of him. “Peek a boo!” Meng Huo smirked as he clenched his red fist.
After that, Meng Huo brandished his right red fist right at General Ludwig. “Take this, ha!” Meng Huo yelled. With a bang, Meng Huo’s right red fist hit General Ludwig’s trident, creating a small explosion between them. “Guh”, General Ludwig grunted as he was slightly sent back by the power of Meng Huo’s right red fist. “A strong battlemage? We haven’t seen one in ages”, Angelica exclaimed. “True. The last strong battlemage we found was our enemy”, Evan added. “So that’s why I felt some sort of fog around him. I thought it was weird that he had a layer of fog around him. It was less weird when he was a mage”, Angelica commented. “What? A layer of fog? Why did I not notice it?” Evan slightly furrowed his eyebrows.
“You don’t? That means that battlemage is our equal”, Angelica rubbed her chin. “Really? He’s at least a 7th Circle Mage? Wow, never expected little brother’s servant to be as strong as us”, Evan pondered. While Evan and Angelica were talking, the battle between General Ludwig and Meng Huo was still underway. “Hmm, now that I think about it, I don’t think the battlemage was our equal. Look at him”, Angelica pointed her finger. “The way he used mana is strange. The battlemage used mana like he was an apprentice or a newly circled mage”, Angelica added. Evan rubbed his chin, “But if you looked at his movement, that battlemage did not move like a newbie”, Evan commented.
“That is why it’s strange. The way the battlemage utilized mana is like a newbie. But, the disguising spell around him and the way he moved and fought does not look like an amateur” Angelica crossed her arms. “Well, everybody has their secret. We shouldn’t pry”, Evan shrugged his shoulders. “Huh, sometime you said a correct thing”, Angelica said with a grin. “What do you mean? I always said the correct thing”, Evan slightly pouted before his attention was brought back to the fight between Meng Huo and General Ludwig. “Aargh!” Meng Huo delivered a barrage of punches to General Ludwig. With each of Meng Huo’s punches, there were explosions of ice and fire that General Ludwig managed to skilfully block.
However, even though General Ludwig could block Meng Huo’s attacks, the explosions of ice and fire still managed to damage General Ludwig slightly. “How would you like this!” Meng Huo gathered his hands together, and a mix of ice and fire’s mana mixed in Meng Huo’s gathered hands. “Ha!” Meng Huo opened his hands before blasting the mix of ice and fire’s mana into a beam toward General Ludwig. General Ludwig grunted before dodging Meng Huo’s ice and fire beam. “You are strong, but I know enough”, General Ludwig quipped before sending Meng Huo flying backwards with the back of his trident. “Gah!” Meng Huo coughed as his back hit a nearby wall. “Now, this just left you”, General Ludwig pointed his trident at Aelgh.
Aelgh smiled gently before stepping forward to meet General Ludwig. “My name is Aelgh, a pleasure to have your acquaintances.” Suddenly, Aelgh jumped backwards before waving her hand. A couple of ice spikes were shot toward General Ludwig. “Heh, cheeky brat”, General Ludwig smirked while swiping his trident.
