Chapter 254: Chapter 254
Sylphid City
Adventurers Guild, Adventurers Training Hall
“So, is everyone here?” Alexandro asked as he folded his hands together. “I think so”, Syndra said while observing her surroundings. “Is this all your forces, guild master?” General Ludwig, who stood right beside Alexandro, asked while slightly raising one of his eyebrows. “What, you’ve got a problem?” Alexandro rolled his eyes. General Ludwig shrugged his shoulders, “No, no, I don’t.” Alexandro sighed before looking around him. Alexandro found Eru was standing right in front of everybody. Long was behind him while Meng Huo was beside Long. Aelgh was sitting down on a folded chair while sipping on a cup of tea, and Sydney was standing beside an influential person inside of the Sylvan Kingdom, Duncan from D/D Group.
Not only that, Alexandro found two members of the Royal Army, Commander Evan and Grand Mage Angelica, standing beside each other while leaning on a nearby wall. Then, Alexandro slightly raised his head, looking at Deddy, May and the rest of the available adventurers around them. “Hmm, it should be around twenty adventurers over there”, General Ludwig commented. “Less than I thought, but that will do”, Alexandro said. “Hmm, have you sent the evidence to the Central Government yet, guild master?” General Ludwig asked. “A copy of them, yes”, Alexandro nodded, “However, the original is somewhere safe.” General Ludwig crossed his arms, “Then, I have nothing more to worry about. Don’t worry, guild master. With my help, I assure you that the army, except for those of the mayor’s faction, will not stand in our way”, General Ludwig said.
“However, they would not be participating in this small civil war. My men will focus on defending the civilians and not let them get into trouble”, General Ludwig warned. “That’s good enough for us. But, if that’s the case, then why are you here?” Alexandro slightly raised his eyebrows. “I’m here to join in, of course. Why else would I be here? I want to see how good your plans are”, General Ludwig said with a small smile. “Participate?” Alexandro squinted his eyes. “Of course. Who would want to miss such a fun time? After all, it has been a long time since I brandished my little trident”, General Ludwig said. “Just for that?” Alexandro asked. “Uh-huh. Of course, I would disguise myself. Wouldn’t want to be fired, right?” General Ludwig winked.
“Why would you be fired for? Hah”, Alexandro sighed, “No matter. It was a piece of good news to us if you participated. And what about those two?” he pointed at Commander Evan and Grand Mage Angelica. “Oh, them? Of course, they would not join in. The royal army prohibited them from joining in any form of civil war unless it involved the royal family. They are just here to watch out for their family member”, General Ludwig said while smirking. “Hah, that’s smart”, Alexandro turned his attention towards Eru. After that, Alexandro stepped forward before inhaling. “Thank you for gathering here, everyone”, Alexandro let out a loud voice. “The moment we are waiting for is finally here. Today, we will root all the corruption from the mayor and take back our freedom!”
The face of the local adventurers, alongside Deddy and May, turned serious. “For too long that our freedom was pressed by the iron grip of the mayor. For too long that we had to endure oppression from the mayor. For too long that we had to hide like a terrified rat from the corruption of this city. Well, no more!” Alexandro said with passion. “Today, we will change all of that. Today, we will be the ones to free the others from the oppressive mayor. Today, we will regain our freedom and drive away from the corruption of Sylphid City. Now, who is with me?” Alexandro yelled out loud. “Ou!” the rest of the adventurers, alongside Deddy and May, all cheered while raising their hands. Eru looked around his surroundings before feeling a little bit of chill on his body.
“Whoa, this is—” Eru exclaimed. “This is nothing, young master Eru”, Meng Huo said. “You should’ve seen what Great General Simbad did when we were at war. It will send more than chills to your spine”, Meng Huo said with a proud smile. “Is that so?” Eru rubbed his chin while slightly tilting his head. “Humph, in the end, it’s just a few humans talking big”, Long said. “Don’t underestimate us, humans, master Long. Take Great General Simbad, for example. He’s someone that could take on an army from any country on his own. He’s like a dragon personified”, Meng Huo said. “That is that, and this is this. Even I know of Great General Simbad. He’s a lion compared to the guild master here”, Long said.
“That’s enough”, Eru furrowed his eyebrows. “No matter what you think, guild master Alexandro fought to protect his homeland. That deserves respect, in my opinion. Not everyone is brave enough to fight against injustice”, Eru added. “You are right, brother Eru”, Long slightly nodded his head. After that, the crowd behind Eru dispersed as they prepared themselves for the inevitable battle that was looming. “How are you doing, Eru?” Alexandro approached Eru with his hands behind his back. “Good, how about you, guild master? You nervous?” Eru asked. “A little bit”, Alexandro chuckled, “However, this is for the best of us all. I can’t look nervous outside, right?”
Eru’s lips curled up a little, “Right. After this, you’ll give me my recommendation letter, right?” Alexandro grinned, “Of course, of course. I promise you, didn’t I?” Alexandro said. “I’ll hold on to it. So, take care of yourself, guild master”, Eru said before leaving Alexandro to approach Evan and Angelica. As Eru left, Alexandro squinted his eyes, “You are the most important piece in my plan, Eru. Please do well and bring us victory.”

Sylphid City
Business District, Mayor’s Mansion
“How is it, Mr Mayor? Is anything to your liking?” asked a shady looking man while rubbing his hands. “Hmm, not bad, not bad”, said the slightly large man with a curly moustache, “You did a good job here” the slightly large man with a curly moustache smiled as he looked at the work that the shady looking man beside him had done. “I am glad that you like it, Mr Mayor”, the shady-looking man said with a wide smile. “I’ve got to say, that material you gave me before really made the difference. Without that, I would never have the chance of finishing this masterpiece in front of us”, the shady-looking man uttered. “Uh-huh”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache took out the item from the briefcase before putting it in his right hand.
“So, how do you use it?” the slightly large man with a curly moustache asked while twirling his right hand around. “It’s simple. An Aura Master such as you should be able to use this thing easily. Just inject your aura into the glove, and the green gem on the middle of the glove will do the rest”, the shady-looking man said to the slightly large man with a curly moustache. “Hmm, so it’s like that, huh?” the slightly large man with a curly moustache twirled his moustache before pointing his right palm at the shady-looking man beside him. “What do you—” before the shady-looking man could finish his sentence, the slightly large man with a curly moustache interrupted him, “Who else knew about this?” he asked as he gathered his aura into the glove on his right hand.
Green glowed formed in the middle of the glove as green mana particles gathered around the slightly large man with a curly moustache. The shady-looking man trembled in fear as he raised his hands, “It’s just you and me”, he said with a stutter. “That’s good”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache fired the green mana that gathered on his right hand. The shady-looking man closed his eyes, preparing himself for his death. However, what the shady-looking man waited for did not come. The shady-looking man opened his eyes and saw that the beam was fired past his face and into the wall behind him. The shady-looking man heaved a sigh of relief after feeling that he was about to die.
“Good, you kept the secret. Now, I will give you this” the slightly large man with a curly moustache threw a magic staff at the shady-looking man. “Consider it a bonus”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache said. “T-thank you, my lord”, the shady-looking man bowed toward the slightly large man with a curly moustache. “Hmph!” the slightly large man with a curly moustache snorted as he looked outside of his office. “Alexandro, I knew you were going to move today. So, I made preparation on my own. I will pay you back for the humiliation that you gave me before. Just watch and see”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache gritted his teeth while clenching his fist so hard that it started to bleed.
