Alexandro, General Ludwig and the armoured woman gathered inside Alexandro’s office. “Is this it? Is this your plan?” General Ludwig slightly raised his eyebrows. “Yes, anything wrong?” Alexandro squinted his eyes. “No, nothing’s wrong. However, this plan put a heavy emphasised on Eru and his friends. Are you sure you want to do that?” General Ludwig asked. “Yes, of course. After all, this is also a part of Eru’s Adventurers Pilgrimage. And I believe that he has the power to do all of this. However, the heavy lifting will still be done by us in the spotlight”, Alexandro explained. “Okay, I’ll follow your plan. When do we start?” General Ludwig asked. “Tonight. When the sun goes down, we will strike the Mayor’s Office Building. The army and the adventurers should finish evacuating the civilians by then”, Alexandro said.
The armoured woman crossed her arms as she slightly lowered her head, “We need to give this everything we’ve got if we want to win.” Alexandro nodded, “Yes, we will. So, to go over the plan once more, Eru and his small but elite team will infiltrate the Clock Tower while we create diversions. Our team will be divided into two. One of them will be led by Syndra, and one of them will be led by me. Syndra’s team will strike where the iron is hot. You, General Ludwig, will be in Syndra’s team, helping them attack the Mayor’s Office Building. I will lead my team to strike here” Alexandro opened a map of Sylphid City, pointing at a spot right outside the city. “From this document that Deddy retrieved from his father, we found that the fat bastard had a hideout right outside the city, disguised as a guard outpost. It should be where the fat bastard hid all of his dirty secrets”, Alexandro added.
“And you will be joined by Duncan and his men, right?” General Ludwig asked. “Yes”, Alexandro nodded, “I believe that the fat bastard’s dirty secret was. I also suspect that’s where the Demonic Cult is hiding. Duncan, too, agreed with me on this one. He’s eager to kill a few from the Demonic Cult.” General Ludwig nodded while crossing his arms, “Okay, since we already confirmed the plan, we should tell the rest about it”, he said. “I agree. I need to call Eru up here”, Alexandro said. “Let me”, the armoured woman offered before standing up. Then, the armoured woman proceeded to left Alexandro’s office, fetching up Eru, who was eating with Evan, Angelica, Long, Meng Huo and Aelgh.
“Hmm, what’s wrong, Syndra?” Eru asked while munching on a fried chicken drumstick. “Alexandro is calling you. He wanted to explain our plans to you”, the armoured woman answered. “Oh, is that so?” Eru said with furrowed eyebrows. “Well, guys, I’ll go meet with the guild master for a bit”, Eru said. “Sure, don’t take too long”, Aelgh said while sipping a cup of tea. Evan and Angelica just gestured with their hands while Long and Meng Huo just nodded. However, before leaving with the armoured woman, Eru quickly finished his fried drumsticks on the plate. “Okay, let’s go”, Eru said. The armoured woman sighed while watching Eru talk with his mouth full of fried chicken drumsticks. After that, the armoured woman led Eru upstairs; using the lift, they went to Alexandro’s office.
“Guild Master, you asked for me?” Eru asked after knocking on Alexandro’s office. “I do; please come in”, Alexandro said. Eru opened the door to Alexandro’s office, finding General Ludwig and Guild Master Alexandro inside. Eru stepped inside Alexandro’s office before sitting on a nearby sofa while the armoured woman stood beside the door, crossing her arms. “Uhm, what is this about?” Eru asked. “I want to explain one more time the plan to you before explaining them en-mas”, Alexandro said. “Okay, go on”, Eru said while leaning back on his chair. “It’s like this”, Alexandro said after sipping on the glass of carbonated water in his hand. “We will split into three teams. One led by you, one led by me and one led by Syndra”, Alexandro said.
He continued, “We will strike in these three positions. One of those positions is the mayor’s office. Two, the giant clock tower and three, a hidden base right on the outskirts of the city.” Eru squinted his eyes, following closely what Alexandro said. “You are going to lead your team here”, Alexandro pointed at the giant clock tower on the map with his index finger, “You will lead your team here.” Eru slightly raised his right eyebrow, “There?” he asked. Alexandro nodded, “Yes, there. We expect that the Demonic Cult’s forces will be there. Since you led a small but elite team, I trust that you will be able to deal with the enemies no problem.” Eru squinted his eyes, “Then, I’ll be attacking the place with most resistance?” Alexandro shook his head, “Not exactly. That will be Syndra and her team.”
The armoured woman that stood near the door nodded her head, “Yes. We will draw the attention of the mayor with a large squad by attacking the mayor’s office.” Eru looked at Alexandro, “And you?” he asked. “Me? I will be attacking here”, Alexandro pointed at the ‘X’ mark on the map. “I will also lead a small force to strike here. I will be joined by Duncan, Sydney and their men. We suspect that this place contains the mayor and the Demonic Cult’s reserve forces and where they kept most of their secret”, Alexandro explained. “Hmm, that’s a viable plan. However, can I ask you something, guild master?” Eru asked. “Of course”, Alexandro replied. “Wouldn’t the mayor be suspicious if the one leading the assault is Syndra and not yourself?” Eru asked.
“Of course, he will. That fat bastard is not stupid, after all. However, that’s what I want him to think”, Alexandro said with a small smile. “What do you mean?” Eru squinted his eyes. “Well, it’s like this….” Alexandro proceeded to explain in detail what his plans were. After hearing what Alexandro had to say, Eru nodded in agreement. However, deep down, Eru still had some resignation about Alexandro’s plan. But, Eru did not say it out loud and only kept it to himself. “That is all. Any further questions?” Alexandro asked with a small smile. Eru shook his head, “Nope, no more questions.” Alexandro nodded, “Good. Now, we will gather everyone back in the training hall and explain our plan. After that, once the sun goes down, we will move.”
Then, Eru, the armoured woman, Alexandro and General Ludwig, who was now in disguise, proceeded to head toward the Adventurers Guild’s training hall. Along the way, General Ludwig approached Eru, “Hey. You alright?” Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “Yes, why wouldn’t I be?” General Ludwig chuckled slightly before patting Eru on his shoulders, “You know you’ve got the worse part of this, right?” he asked. “I do”, Eru nodded, “After all, the guild master purposedly put me in the position of the leader.” General Ludwig shook his head while smiling wryly, “That’s not it.” Eru looked at his future brother-in-law as his body tensed up, “What do you mean?” General Ludwig slightly lowered his head, “The giant clock tower in the middle of the business district… That’s likely where the enemy’s boss will be hiding.”
Eru’s shoulders relaxed a little, “Well, that’s it?” Eru said with a nonchalant attitude. General Ludwig was taken aback slightly, “What do you mean, that’s it? You know it will be more than likely that the boss from the Demonic Cult will be hiding there, right?” he asked. “Oh, I know. I am looking forward to it. After all, we had some unfinished business”, Eru said while grinning. “You’ve had some unfinished business? You know who it is?” General Ludwig furrowed his eyebrows. “Wait, Alexandro did not tell you?” Eru asked. “No, he did not”, General Ludwig shook his head. Alexandro, who was walking in front of them, let out a small chuckle, “Oh, yeah, about that… I haven’t told him about it. It must’ve slipped my mind.” Eru sighed, “Short version, brother-in-law, that before this, I had to help Syndra on her mission to protect Sylphid Academy.”
“Oh, I heard about it. The one where the Demonic Cult sent off a bunch of monsters to attack the academy, right?” General Ludwig said. “Correct. And in that mission, we discovered where the Demonic Cult was hiding. Short story, I faced off against their leader over there”, Eru explained. “Did you win?” General Ludwig asked as the party walked outside the lift. “Yes, but she escaped”, Eru said with a hint of frustration. “Oh”, General Ludwig said as the party arrived at the training hall. “Uhm, why is it empty?” the armoured woman asked. Then, she looked at Alexandro, “Wait, did you not tell everybody to meet here?” she stared at Alexandro, making the latter uncomfortable.
Something clicked inside of Alexandro’s head as he let out an embarrassed chuckle, “Oh, yeah, I forgot.” The armoured woman sighed in exasperation before kicking Alexandro on his ass, “Hurry up and call them, then!” Alexandro hurriedly ran outside the training hall, “Yes, yes, darling, I’ll go hurry up!” Eru and General Ludwig let out a small laugh as Alexandro left a trail of smoke behind him.
