Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 258

Chapter 258

Chapter 258: Chapter 258

“So this is the strength of the man who had endured, huh? The central government was not wrong to trust the guild master”, Angelica uttered. “However, Angelica, you do remember what must be done, right?” Evan asked while crossing his arms. “Of course, I do. Who do you think I am?” Angelica snorted. “Then it’s fine”, Evan smiled before looking at Eru, who was standing near Alexandro. “Look at our little brother”, Evan said. “Yeah. Such a serious face. I wonder if dad made a serious face, would he look like our little brother?” Angelica wondered. “Maybe. Eru really is like our father’s replica. You think that our little brother is a clone?” Evan furrowed his eyebrows. “Don’t say things like that”, Angelica smacked Evan on the head. “Ouch, sorry, sorry”, Evan let out a wry chuckle.

Meanwhile, Alexandro had just finished answering questions the adventurers threw at him. Alexandro looked up and saw that darkness was beginning to come out outside the small window on top of the training hall. “Perfect timing. The sun had set, and you all know what this means”, Alexandro said with a small grin. After looking at the eager adventurers, Alexandro let out a wide smile, “Yes, this is it. This is our time. Our path towards freedom starts now. Is everyone with me?” The crowd responded with a loud ‘yeah.’ Their voice reverberated throughout the whole training hall, creating a small quake inside. After that, the adventurers proceeded to ready themselves for the inevitable battle that was to come.

Then, after a while, the adventurers all gathered around the training hall, ready with their gear. Ducan had finished telling Rex and the rest of his forces with a magic crystal, while General Ludwig did the same to his men. Alexandro looked at the readied adventurers and the rest of Duncan’s forces with a smile. After that, Alexandro flared up his aura, fully showing his prowess as a 5th Grade Aura Master. “Tonight, we will hunt!” Alexandro projected his voice loudly, pumping out the adventurers and Duncan’s forces. “Ou!” the crowd replied before they formed into a team of two. The armoured woman and General Ludwig led most of the men, while Alexandro and Duncan were joined by Sydney and a few elite guardsmen from Duncan’s private army and a few strong adventurers.

Eru was joined by his usual party of Aelgh, Meng Huo and Long. Alexandro raised his hand, “Alright, team, move out!” he said. After that, the training hall was quickly left emptied as the team proceeded to go towards their designated place. “Is everyone in position?” Alexandro asked while speaking into a magic crystal. “We are right outside the mayor’s office”, the armoured woman replied, “We are directly staring at the mayor’s forces.” Alexandro nodded, “What about you, Eru?” Eru squinted his eyes, “We are right by the clock tower”, he said. “Good. We moved when Syndra gave the signal.” The armoured woman smiled. She put away the magic crystal in her pocket. However, the armoured woman left it on so that the others could hear her signal.

After that, the armoured woman raised her sword high before pointing at the mayor’s forces. “All units, charge!” she yelled out loud. “Ou!” the men behind her replied before charging right at the mayor’s forces. “Charge!” Alexandro yelled out while Eru quietly sneaked into the giant clock tower. Unbeknownst to them, a figure was watching all of these high up in the sky. “And thus, the battle to decide Sylphid City’s fate has begun”, the figure muttered before disappearing into the night sky. However, two other figures watched it disappear before looking at each other. They nodded their heads at each other before they, too, disappeared into the night sky. Meanwhile, Eru and his team had finally entered the giant clock tower.

“Phew, getting inside of here is a pain in the ass”, Eru complained while dusting his clothes. “Are you sure the enemies are hiding here?” Meng Huo asked while observing his surroundings. “You still need training then”, Aelgh walked forward, stopping herself right beside Meng Huo. “Something is not right here”, Long furrowed his eyebrows. “Excellent observation, Long”, Aelgh praised. “Disperse”, Aelgh chanted while snapping her fingers. After that, a wave of white mana came out from within Aelgh’s body. Then, after the white wave of mana hit the interior of the clock tower, it immediately changed shape. The previous interior that only consisted of gears and machinations was now changed.

The gears and machinations were still there; however, there were now platforms installed between the gears, with various rooms inside. “A really advanced illusion magic”, Long squinted his eyes. “Yup, that’s right. The one that set this up must have been a 5th Circle Mage or above”, Aelgh said. “All the more reason for us to be careful”, Eru commented. “Just a 5th Circle Mage… We could easily deal with someone at that level of power”, Long said with a crossed arms. “Haha, it will never hurt to be more careful”, Aelgh said with a small smile. “The one worthy of our attention is that red-haired woman”, Long uttered. “You are right, master Long”, Meng Huo said. “And don’t forget about the one that allowed the red-haired woman to escape”, Eru added.

“I’m curious about meeting her, actually. That red-haired woman, I mean”, Aelgh pondered. “What can you do? Are you strong enough to deal against her?” Long questioned. “We won’t know unless we meet”, Aelgh said before winking secretly at Eru. Eru sighed before looking at his teammates, “Alright, how do you all want to do this? Should we split up, or should we stick together?” Eru asked. Aelgh looked up and down the giant clock tower before opening her mouth, “We should split up. However, since there are four of us, we should split into two teams.” Aelgh then raised her hand and pointed at Long, “I will be going with him”, she said. “Wait, what? Why me?” Long asked as he was slightly taken aback.

“Okay, works for me”, Eru ignored Long, “That means I’m with Meng Huo. You okay with that?” Meng Huo smiled while cracking his knuckles, “Of course, young master. I’m happy to oblige”, he said, grinning from ears to ears. “Good, then we will decide where each of us will go”, Aelgh said. Eru furrowed his eyebrows, “How about you two go downstairs while Meng Huo and I go upstairs?” he suggested. “Sure. Remember, we need to sweep every floor for enemies as much as possible”, Aelgh said. “Of course, I remember. Okay, let us go, Meng Huo”, Eru said. “Right”, Meng Huo replied before the duo left Long and Aelgh alone. Long was still taken aback by all this, “What about my opinion, brother Eru?” Long yelled out loud.

“Hahaha, now shall we begin as well?” Aelgh said after giggling. Long sighed before glaring deathly stares at Aelgh, “It’s all because of you.” Aelgh grinned, “What about it? Come on, we need to go down”, she said before she started walking. Long sighed once again in exasperation before begrudgingly following Aelgh. “Why do you pick me, anyway?” Long asked while following the girl wearing Sylphid Academy’s uniform in front of him. “Why? It’s because, among the three of you, I know you the least”, Aelgh repled. “Oh, and I felt that you could handle strong foes by yourself”, Aelgh added. “Of course I do. Who the hell do you think I am?” Long snorted. Then, Long suddenly furrowed his eyebrows, “So, you expecting a strong foe on the bottom floor?”

“You are strong and attentive too. I knew I did not choose wrongly”, Aelgh smiled. “Yes, I expected a strong enemy downstairs. Possibly the one that allowed the red-haired woman to escape”, Aelgh added. “How did you know?” Long asked. “I briefly scanned the entire area once we entered the giant clock tower”, Aelgh replied nonchalantly. “You scanned the entire area? How come I did not notice?” Long squinted his eyes. “It is simple. It’s just because I’m stronger than you”, Aelgh said with a huge grin. The tip of Long’s eyes twitched after hearing what Aelgh had said to him. “What, you don’t believe me? Then try scanning this place with your own power”, Aelgh provoked.

“Hmph, I’ll just do that”, Long said before proceeding to scan the entire area with his mana pulse. “Strange… I could not feel anything”, Long said with furrowed eyebrows. “That’s because this place had an additional mana disturbance formation apart from the high ranking illusion magic earlier. You should know what this means”, Aelgh grinned. However, just before Long could reply, two humanoid figures cloaked in black appeared before them. “Who are you?” Long asked. However, instead of replying to Long, the two humanoid figures cloaked in black just approached Aelgh and Long slowly. “All who trespass will die!” the two humanoid figures cloaked in black said in unison before proceeding to charge at Aelgh and Long.

“Imbeciles!”
