“Well done, very well done”, a familiar voice resounded throughout the whole area, startling Sydney, Duncan, Alexandro and the rest of their forces. “You… I forgot that you were here” Duncan furrowed his eyebrows. “I knew you guys are strong, but I did not expect that those mutants could only cull so little of your numbers”, said the voice. “Where are you? Stop hiding!” Sydney barked. “Patience, young lady. I will be with you shortly”, the voice said. Then, Sydney, Duncan, Alexandro and the rest of their forces heard a loud pop. After that, smoke appeared where the five humanoid, monstrous creatures were before dispersing
“Be careful! Stay with your group!” Duncan shouted. “Haha, don’t worry. I won’t attack you during this. I just need you all to stop moving for a while”, the voice said with a cheery tone. As the smoke dissipated, Sydney, Duncan, Alexandro, and the rest of the private soldiers and the adventurers saw that the five humanoid, monstrous creatures were now gone. Replacing them was a huge, humanoid, monstrous creature. That creature had three arms, the lower body of a giant horse, and it had four glowing red eyes. Its skin was blue, and it had long, messy, yellow hair. Two horns protruded from its forehead, and they curled upwards, resembling that of a goat horn. “Roar!” the creature let out a powerful roar, shaking the space around it and causing a small earthquake.
“What the hell—” Alexandro exclaimed. “Hahaha! Did you like it? Our current greatest creation, the Chimera!” the voice announced with a grand tone. Then, the creature known as the Chimera punched a nearby pillar before holding the broken pillar in one of its hands. “Chimera, do what you’re made to do. Destroy the invaders!” the voice shouted. “Roar!” the creature known as the Chimera let out another powerful roar. Then, the creature known as the Chimera swung the pillar down toward the place where Duncan, Alexandro and Sydney were standing. “Disperse!” Alexandro shouted. Then, Duncan, Alexandro and Sydney proceeded to jump away, avoiding the creature known as the Chimera’s attack. “Argh!” Duncan and Alexandro’s forces screamed as a few of them were sent flying back while a few of them were crushed by the creature known as the Chimera attack.
“All forces, withdraw! You guys will only be a hindrance when we are fighting a powerful creature!” Sydney barked. “Sydney is right. Adventurers, fall back to a safe place! Gather together with Duncan’s army and form a defensive formation!” Alexandro shouted. “Protect yourself and your allies! Do not get killed!” Duncan added. After that, the adventurers and Duncan’s private army slowly withdrew. “Hahaha! I will let those rotten rats withdraw. My only target is you two. The young miss will be my bonus”, the voice laughed maniacally. “Well, I think you will find that thing would not go according to your plan”, Sydney smirked. “Guild master, Master Duncan, please support me!” Sydney said.
After that, Sydney flared up her yellow-coloured aura before jumping forward. “Must you even ask?” Duncan chuckled while following behind Sydney. “Hah, I don’t get a choice, do I?” Alexandro shook his head while letting out a small smile. Then, Sydney coated her blade with her yellow-coloured aura before brandishing her blade at the creature known as the Chimera’s leg. The creature known as the Chimera roared before swinging down the pillar in its hand toward Sydney. “Oh, no, you don’t!” Duncan jumped forward. He clenched his fists as a cyan-coloured aura covered up his fists. “Rah!” Duncan shouted before punching the pillar with his fists repeatedly. The pillars broke down thanks to Duncan’s punches. The creature known as the Chimera gritted its teeth before stomping down with its foot.
Sydney jumped upward, dodging the Chimera’s stomp. Then, Sydney ran on its body with her yellow-coloured aura coating her blade. The Chimera tried swatting Sydney away, but Alexandro flashed in front of Sydney. “Not on my watch”, Alexandro flared up his purple-coloured aura, blocking the creature known as the Chimera’s hand, causing Sydney free passage to the Chimera’s head. “Do it, Sydney!” Duncan shouted. Sydney jumped upward, placing herself right near the Chimera’s neck; she brandished her aura-coated blade.
“Take this! Ha!” Syndey yelled out, brandishing her blade at the creature known as the Chimera’s neck. As Sydney was closing in, suddenly, however, she was interrupted by a flying spear. The flying spear made Sydney to abandoned her attack to defend herself. “Who!?” Alexandro yelled. “Haha, I can’t let you kill it, young lady”, the voice said. Then, the figure behind the voice appeared. He hung by the ceiling with outfits completely clad in black. His face was completely covered up with black clothing, as do his skin. “So you finally show yourself”, Duncan said as he flashed right before the black figure. After that, Duncan brandished his fists that were completely covered with his cyan-coloured aura.
“Tch”, the black figure clicked his tongue before manifesting a yellow-coloured spear in his hand. The black figure utilized that yellow-coloured spear to block Duncan’s attack. Unfortunately for the black figure, his yellow-coloured spear shattered, and Duncan’s punch went through. However, that split second where Duncan’s fist hit the black figure’s yellow-coloured spear was enough for the black figure to avoid Duncan’s punch. After that, the black figure appeared on the ground, with another yellow-coloured spear in his hand. “Why are you all so hot-tempered? Can’t we all talk like a sane person?” the black figure said while scratching the back of his head.
Then, just after he said that it was Alexandro’s turn to instantly flash before the black figure. “Die!” Alexandro sent out a palm strike full of his purple-coloured aura. “Damn it!” the black figure pursed his lips while blocking Alexandro’s palm strike using his yellow-coloured spear. Like before, the black figure’s yellow-coloured spear was instantly broken by Alexandro’s palm strike. However, the black figure was able to escape the situation pretty much unharmed, and he appeared right beside the stunned Chimera. The black figure kicked the creature known as the Chimera’s leg with anger, “You dumb fuck! Why do you let them attack me? Go on, and beat all of them!” the black figure shouted.
After that, the creature known as the Chimera let out a powerful roar. Then, the creature known as the Chimera raised its two front legs before instantly appearing right before Alexandro, dashing past Sydney in the process. “Fast” Alexandro exclaimed as he furrowed his eyebrows because an attack from the creature known as the Chimera was approaching. The creature known as the Chimera punched down with one of its left arms, creating heavy pressure on Alexandro. Thankfully, Alexandro was battle-hardened, and he could dodge the Chimera’s attack, albeit barely. However, what happened next was unexpected even to Alexandro. The black figure threw his yellow-coloured spear, slightly grazing Alexandro on his legs.
“You!” Alexandro gritted his teeth as he was busy dodging the Chimera’s barrage of attacks. “Hahaha, dance, dance for me, guild master”, said the black figure as he maniacally laughed. However, his joy did not last long as Duncan already appeared right in front of the black figure with his fists ready. “You talk too much”, Duncan said as he brandished his fist. Suddenly, the black figure vanished from his spot and appeared where he threw his yellow-coloured spear. “Miss me”, taunted the black figure. What the black figure did not expect was that Sydney had been tracking his movement ever since he showed himself. Sydney figured out how the black figure could instantly move towards a position so fast because that position was where the black figure’s yellow-coloured spear landed.
“Die, you creep!” Sydney brandished her blade that was coated with her yellow-coloured aura. The black figure was surprised as his eyes were opened wide, “You, how come you are here?” he exclaimed as he watched Sydney’s aura-coated blade approaching his body. “Tch”, the black figure clicked his tongue in annoyance as he conjured up another yellow-coloured spear. The black figure managed to completely block Sydney’s aura-coated blade. However, the black figure sustained some injuries as Sydney’s slash was a bit more powerful than he anticipated. A trace of a visible wound appeared on his arms as the clothing on his arms area was torn apart by the force of Sydney’s aura-coated blade.
“Damn, you bitch!” the black figure cursed loudly as he threw his yellow-coloured spear away before teleporting to it. But, this time, Duncan was ready. He followed where the black figure threw the yellow-coloured spear. As the black figure appeared, Duncan was there, “Why hello there”, Duncan said with a smirk. “Fuck!” the black figure cursed before conjuring another yellow-coloured spear, blocking Duncan’s cyan-coloured fists. However, that was not enough to deter Duncan. He kept launching a barrage of attacks toward the black figure, preventing him from throwing his yellow-coloured spear away and teleporting away. “Haha, not so tough without that ability of yours, huh?” Duncan said with a smug smile. The black figure gritted his teeth before smiling, “Hah, you might corner me this time, but have you accounted for this? Chimera, protect me!”
The Chimera that was attacking Alexandro turned its monstrous head before heading straight toward Duncan. “Not good”, Duncan exclaimed as he jumped away, avoiding the Chimera’s charge. Duncan regrouped with Sydney and Alexandro as they stared at the daunting Chimera and the sneaky black figure in front of them. “Good job, Chimera. Now, shall we begin the real fight?” the black figure said with a mocking smile. “Roar!” The Chimera let out a powerful roar, shaking the entire room.
