“Thanks, Sydney”, Duncan said. Sydney nodded before looking at the black figure, “Master Duncan, please help Alexandro to fight the big monster. I’ll keep him occupied”, Sydney said as she pointed her blade at the black figure.
“Okay. You be careful, Sydney,” Duncan nodded before jumping away. The black figure looked at Sydney with amusement, “You think you can handle me alone, little lady?” the black figure said as he twirled the yellow-coloured spear in his hand. “Of course. We don’t need three people to gang up on a weakling like you”, Sydney taunted as she let out a very despicable smile. “You!” the veins on the black figure’s forehead were twitching. “I’ll teach you a lesson”, the black figure growled before launching himself right at Sydney. “Bring it on, bastard”, Sydney said with a massive grin on her face. Sydney’s white hair fluttered as her yellow-coloured aura became even stronger. “I’ll push it farther. Eruken times three!” Sydney shouted before her yellow-coloured aura burst out from within her.
Then, as the black figure was getting closer, Sydney raised his aura-covered blade up. The black figure swung his yellow-coloured spear downwards, clashing with Sydney’s blade that was coated with her yellow-coloured aura. The clash between Sydney’s aura-coated blade and the black figure’s yellow-coloured spear caused a yellow-coloured flash of sparks to fly around Sydney and the black figure. “Huh?” the black figure slightly widened his eyes, “You powered up!?” he exclaimed. “Ora!” Sydney yelled as she pushed through the black figure’s attack. “Urgh”, the black figure grunted as he was pushed away by Sydney. The black figure flipped in the air before landing on the ground.
“You!” the black figure pointed his yellow-coloured spear at Sydney, “You are not supposed to be this powerful. What techniques did you use? Did you use a forbidden technique?” he asked loudly. “Why should I tell you?” Sydney replied. “Haha… Hahahahaha,” the black figure laughed maniacally, “You are interesting, little lady. I can’t wait… I can’t wait to capture you and explore every single secret you have in your body.” Sydney spat on the ground, “Ew, I have no interest, you fucking pervert”, Sydney said. “Enough talk, ready you spear”, Sydney said as she dashed forward towards the black figure with her aura-coated blade hung high. “Hahaha, come!” the black figure readied his stance.
As Sydney got closer, she suddenly disappeared from her spot before reappearing right before the black figure. “Die!” Sydney’s yellow-coloured aura burst out as she brandished her aura-coated blade downwards. The black figure smirked before slightly throwing his yellow-coloured spear beside him. Then, the black figure suddenly appeared where he threw his yellow-coloured spear. “I know you would do that”, Sydney smirked. Sydney suddenly turned her body toward the black figure before stomping her foot on the ground. Using that, Sydney dashed toward the black figure with velocity. “Damn it!” the black figure immediately raised his yellow-coloured spear, blocking Sydney’s blade, creating another yellow-coloured spark.
Meanwhile, Duncan and Alexandro were staring at the gargantuan Chimera in front of them. “Heh, guild master, do you have any plan on killing this monster?” Duncan asked. “Not yet. I haven’t seen what it was truly capable of. However, I have no plan on dragging this fight any longer. We need to at least restrain this monster for a little while and kill the black figure first. Then, we will have a better chance of defeating this monster if the three of us work together”, Alexandro said. “Do you have any plan for that?” Duncan furrowed his eyebrows. “That I do”, Alexandro said with a smile. “Then, what are we waiting for? Let’s do it”, Duncan readied his stance. Alexandro furrowed his eyebrows, “Incoming!” Alexandro shouted as the Chimera charged toward them. Then, Duncan dodged before positioning himself near Alexandro.
“You ready to do this, Mister Duncan?” Alexandro asked. “On your lead, guild master”, Duncan replied. Alexandro nodded before his eyes turned serious, “Alright, let’s do this!”

While Alexandro, Duncan, and Sydney were dealing with the forces of the Demonic Cult inside the hidden barracks right outside the city. While Eru, Meng Huo, Long, along with Aelgh were fighting inside the giant clock tower, the armoured woman plus General Ludwig were winning their battle right outside the Mayor’s Mansion. “Keep this up, people, and sooner or later, we will win this battle!” the armoured woman shouted. General Ludwig, who was fighting by the armoured woman’s side, was slightly impressed, “Well, well, well, you commanded your troops well, Syndra”, praised General Ludwig. “Thank you, general, for the kind words”, the armoured woman flashed a smile.
“Well, it’s getting kind of boring staying behind here”, General Ludwig said. “Patience, general. We need to wait for their reinforcements, after all”, the armoured woman said. General Ludwig let out a small smile, “I don’t think they are coming anymore. Look at the mayor’s face,” General Ludwig pointed his finger. The armoured woman observed her surroundings before nodding in agreement, “I think you are right, general. Alexandro must’ve done a good job.” General Ludwig smiled, “Of course. He’s capable on his own, and he’s got Duncan with him as well.” The armoured woman looked confused at General Ludwig’s words, “Duncan? The merchant?”
“Haha, you might not know this, but before he became a merchant, Duncan was a fierce warrior, a powerhouse, a 5th Grade Aura Master. They called him, The Solid Rock”, General Ludwig explained. “Really? I never knew that”, the armoured woman said with a slightly shocked expression. “That was back then. Who knew now he might’ve gotten stronger? At any rate, with the guild master and Duncan working together, I don’t have many worries for them”, General Ludwig said. “And you forget about one more person”, the armoured woman’s lips slightly curled up into a small smile. “Who?” General Ludwig slightly raised his eyebrows.
“Sydney, Duncan’s attendant. Well, she’s a captain in his personal army”, the armoured woman said. “Sydney? Who’s that?” General Ludwig furrowed his eyebrows. “She’s that kid, Eru’s disciple. Well, more like a student but not much difference between them”, the armoured woman shrugged. “Sydney is my young brother-in-law’s student? Interesting”, General Ludwig rubbed his chin, “Looks like I ain’t got nothing to worry about them.”
Meanwhile, the mayor’s forces were panicking. The two commanders were sweating buckets as their forces kept being pushed back by the armoured woman’s army. “What the hell are you all doing? We have numbers on our side, numbers! How can you let yourself be outdone by the army of adventurers and volunteers!?” One of the commanders yelled out loud. “You guys are shite! Properly maintain your formation. Hey, you that are in the right flank! Don’t just back down like that! Show more fight, damn it!” yelled another commander. Then, the first commander looked back at the slightly large man with a curly moustache, “Sir, if we don’t get the reinforcements pretty soon, we are going to get routed”, he said with worry on his face.
“Yes, Mr Mayor. We need those reinforcements soon”, pleaded another commander. The slightly large man with a curly moustache growled before stomping his foot, “Incompetent! Just facing these guys, and you already cried out for reinforcements”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache shouted. “But, Mr Mayor—” “No buts. Let me show you how it is done”, the slightly large man with a curly moustache’s eyes turned green. After that, the slightly large man with a curly moustache jumped before landing right between the armoured woman’s forces. “It’s the mayor! The mayor has delivered himself to us to die! Everyone, kill him!” shouted one of the people inside of the armoured woman’s army.
“Imbeciles. You don’t know what’s good for yourself!” the slightly large man with a curly moustache’s eyes glowed green. “Disappear!” the slightly large man with a curly moustache raised his green gauntlet. The green gauntlet glowed before letting out a green mana pulse. General Ludwig squinted his eyes when watching this as bad feelings arose within his heart. “Everyone, get clear!” the armoured woman shouted, but alas, it was all too late. The green mana pulse exploded, blasting the people around the slightly large man with a curly moustache into smithereens. “What in the world….” General Ludwig exclaimed. “Mana? The Mayor could use mana? Wasn’t he a 4th Grade Aura Master? How could he use mana?” the armoured woman furrowed her eyebrows in confusion.
General Ludwig scrutinized the slightly large man with a curly moustache, observing him closely as he ploughed through the armoured woman’s forces. “It’s likely that green gauntlet in his right hand. That is more than likely an artefact”, General Ludwig said with a heavy tone. The armoured woman gulped, “No matter what, we need to stop him from wreaking havoc more than this”, the armoured woman said. “My sentiments exactly. Syndra, come. Follow my lead”, General Ludwig said before rushing toward the slightly large man with a curly moustache. “Yes, general”, the armoured woman replied as she followed closely behind General Ludwig.
