Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 59

Chapter 59

Chapter 59: Chapter 59

A middle-aged man, alongside a young man with a ponytail, walked down the corridor to somewhere more isolated. Near the end of the corridor, there’s a metal gate with two guards guarding it. The two guards were no slouch; each of them had the strength of a 3rd Grade Aura Master. “How is he?” the young man with a ponytail asked. “Sir!” the two guards saluted, “He’s still not talking, sir Rex”, informed one of the guards.

“Alright, open the gate. The commander wanted to meet him”, Rex ordered. “Yes, sir!” one of the guards took out a key from his pocket before unlocking the metal door. The sounds of the metal door opening reverberated across the hallway. “We’ll go in now. Close the door after”, said the white-haired man. “Yes, commander. Good luck!” said both of the guards simultaneously as they watched both Rex and the white-haired man walked inside.

After Rex and the white-haired man walked inside, the metal door was closed slowly by one of the guards. They both sighed, “It’s been a while since somebody was locked up in the special prison wing”, said one of them to his companion. “I wonder what did he do to deserved such treatment?” asked the left guard. “Dunno, but getting visited by the commander himself must’ve meant that guy did something serious”, the right guard said while frowning.

“No matter what he’s done, getting a visit from the commander would not be a pretty sight”, said the left guard. “Yeah, when a fierce lion came to get his prey, the latter could only hope it dies peacefully”, the right guard replied. Both of the guards shivered, thinking what their commander might do to the prisoner. “Let’s not think about it anymore, or I’ll go crazy”, said one of the guards. The right guard nodded, “Yeah, let’s.”

“What do you want?” a blue-haired man was seen inside of a prison cell, tied up with a white cloth, and his body was chained to the wall. The white-haired man stared at the locked up prisoner in front of him while Rex stood behind him, leaning against the wall near the metal door. The white-haired man opened up the cell that imprisoned the blue-haired man before going inside. “You’re doing it?” Rex asked the white-haired man. The white-haired man replied by nodding as he stared the blue-haired man in the eyes.

The white-haired man conjured a sword with his aura before slashing at the blue-haired man. The blue-haired man closed his eyes, preparing for his demise. After waiting a while, however, the pain that the blue-haired man was expecting was not there. Instead, he found himself free, “What’s the meaning of this?” the blue-haired man asked, glaring at the white-haired man. “Since you don’t want to talk, it’s pointless to keep interrogated you here”, said the white-haired man.

The blue-haired man was flabbergasted; his eyes almost popped out of his socket. The white-haired man turned his head sideways, “You have it?” he asked Rex outside. Rex heaved a sigh, “Here you go”, he tossed out two familiar items to the blue-haired man. “This…”, the blue-haired man stared at the twin curved swords in his hands. “You should know what this means. Beat me, and you walked away. You get beaten, and you must speak”, the white-haired man said gallantly.

Still flabbergasted from what the white-haired man said, the blue-haired man’s eyes sharpen as he stared at the white-haired man. “Just don’t regret it”, he said, flaring up his blue aura. “Hmph”, the white-haired man harumphed, and the battle between the two officially begun.

“It can’t be….” The blue-haired man kneeled on the ground, his breath haggard, and his face was full of fear. The blue-haired man’s curved sword was broken to pieces while he had wounds all over his body. “Who are you!?” he yelled, raising his face to look at the white-haired man. The white-haired man stared down at his opponent while still looking as calm and collected as before. He opened his mouth, “You lost”, he turned his back, walking away from the specialized prison cell. Rex opened up the cell door, letting the white-haired man out. The white-haired man knocked on the metal door before it slowly opened as he left the specialised prison cell.

Rex watched the once-mighty 5th Grade Aura Master that now lies on the ground, defeated, before sighing, “Just tell the guards when you wanted to talk, and we’ll come right back”, he said to the blue-haired man before following the white-haired man. The metal door closed after that, leaving the defeated blue-haired man inside the cell.

“Are you sure that’s alright?” Rex asked the white-haired man inside of the latter’s office. The white-haired man pulled out his chair, nodding to Rex before sitting and sipping from a cup of tea above his table. “If he does anything, I could just put him in his place once more”, the white-haired man said with confidence while putting down his cup of tea. Rex sighed; he sat on the couch near the window, leaning back and relaxing, “Well, up to you then, you’re the commander”, he said.

The white-haired man sigh; he shook his head as he stared at his easy-going son, “Don’t you have work?” he casually asked. Rex clicked his tongue; he laid his body down on the sofa, “I have subordinate for that, no?” he lazily stretched out his arm before yawning. The white-haired man’s face contorted for a while; he sighed to himself, “You lazy prick. If you were somebody else’s son, you would get beaten up by now.” Rex grin at his grumpy old man, “Fortunately, I’m yours.” The white-haired man shook his head, “I’m regretting having you”, he said jokingly.

Rex smirked; he turned his body sideways, “I’m going to sleep. I’m tired from last night”, he said, immediately snoring right after he closed his eyes. The white-haired man smiled wryly. He looked at his son and couldn’t help but wanted to knock him in the head. The white-haired man let out a deep breath as he stared blankly at the ceiling. ‘Fiona, our son has grown up to be a lazy man, just like you,’ he thought in his head.

‘But I’m proud of him. I’m sure you’re proud of him too. Although he’s a bit lazy and easy-going, the amount of work he’s put behind the scenes was mind-boggling. Even I, at his age, wasn’t as good as him,’ the white-haired smiled. “He’ll surpass me in a few years. But, until then, I’m going to do everything in my power to protect him, just like you did back then”, the white-haired man sipped his tea, his expression peaceful. “And when he does surpass me, I’m going to wait for my time before coming back to you once more”, he said to himself, immersing in the peaceful feeling he had.

Inside of a tightly guarded prison, a blue-haired man was sitting on the ground, meditating, breathing, recovering his power and mental state. He thought about how he lost before, frowning and groaning. He thought about what the white-haired man said before he defeated him in a one on one, crushing him one-sidedly and overpowering him easily. ‘Who was that man?’ the blue-haired man pondered in his mind.

The blue-haired man was confident of himself. Even if he were to face the former prodigy, Duncan Willis on his full power, the blue-haired man was confident that he could win. Even when the blue-haired man was facing a Draconian at his full power, he wasn’t at a disadvantage. But the white-haired man could defeat him in a few breaths, overpowering him in a sense that the blue-haired man couldn’t do anything about it.

‘Who was he? From what I know, only a few people possessed that much power in Zephyr’s Kingdom. One was the king, the Archmage at the Royal Academy or the Captain of the Royal Guards. So, who the hell was he? A hidden expert? No, he couldn’t be. A hidden expert wouldn’t join the army, Adventurers Guild most likely, but not the army,’ he thought to himself.

‘Wait, there is a monster within the army that retired for a while,’ Then, a sudden realization dawned on him, ‘Don’t tell me…’, the blue-haired man’s expression turned grave, ‘The Fierce Lion, Simba the Fierce Lion. I thought he retired. Who would’ve thought that I’ve run into him here….’ The blue-haired man massaged his forehead, ‘No wonder that Draconian hid here. Those that caused trouble here will have to deal with that old monster.’

The blue-haired man pondered for a while. He thought, ‘Even if I don’t talk, more will come here to grabbed the Draconian, and who knows, they might’ve chirp like a bird,’ the blue-haired man sighed. “And that would hamper my personal mission. Seems like I need to change my plan”, he said to himself, his eyes sharp. The blue-haired man stood up; he banged the cell door hard. Two guards appeared from behind the metal door, their face was menacing, “Pipe down, you bastard!”, said one of them. “I want to talk. Go grab your commander”, the blue-haired man said with unwavering eyes.
