Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 60

Chapter 60

Chapter 60: Chapter 60

Inside of a prison cell, a young man with raven-coloured hair sat in a lotus position. Eru meditated, trying to break his bottleneck, breaking through to 2nd Grade Aura Master. “The training method from that shady old man really does work wonders”, Eru said after opening his eyes. “Who knew that the training method I found by accident was some ancient Aura Cultivation Technique. Well, I guess I did learn from my dad but hearing from a man from that ancient era affirmed it even more”, he said smiling.

Just as Eru was done meditating, a guard approached his cell, bringing a key to the cell’s door, “The commander wanted to see you”, he said while opening Eru’s jail cell. “The commander?” Eru asked. “Yes. Watch your words when facing the commander”, the guard warned. “Sure”, Eru got out of his cell, stretching his body. “Follow me”, the guard said. “Alright. Oh, by the way, can I get my sword back, please?” Eru plead. “Not until the commander say you can. Now, move along”, the guard said, firm in his words. “Alright”, all Eru could do now was just to raise his hand and follow along.

“Here you go”, the guard said before knocking the double-door in front, “Sir, he’s here”. Then, Eru heard a dignified voice from inside, “Thank you”, the voice said. The guard saluted before leaving Eru in front of a wooden double-door. Eru opened the door, finding a white-haired man sat behind his desk, scanning him thoroughly with his eyes. “Please, sit down”, the white-haired man said while making a gesture with his hand. Eru calmly sat down on the chair opposite to where the white-haired man was sitting.

Eru scanned the room; he found two windows behind where the white-haired man was sitting, a storage cabinet on the right and an L shaped couch on the left side of the room. Eru gawked in disbelief; he found that the guard with a ponytail Eru met earlier was sleeping on the couch. The white-haired man coughed, embarrassed as he noticed where Eru was staring, “Don’t mind him. He’s just tired”, the white-haired man said while trying hard to hide his embarrassment.

“Uh, okay”, Eru’s face winced a little, “So, what do I owe this pleasure?” Eru asked calmly. The white-haired man did not reply immediately as he continued to observe and scanned Eru intensely. “Uh, hello?” Eru said, feeling uncomfortable from the white-haired man’s stare. “Sorry about that”, the white-haired man shook his head. He smiled warmly towards Eru, “I’m not sure before, but after meeting you in person, I’m sure of it now”, the white-haired man warmly said. “So, how’s Rudy and Anna’s doing?” the white-haired man asked while leaning forward as he rests his chin on his hands. Eru’s eyes went wide, “You know my parents?” The white-haired man nodded, “Not just your parents, but your siblings as well. One of them, Evan, was it? He’s one of my students”, the white-haired man said with a hint of pride.

“Oh”, Eru’s expression was bright, “How is he, by the way? I haven’t heard from him for a long time”, Eru said with joy on his face. “He’s a royal guard by now. He didn’t tell you?” The middle-aged man raised his left eyebrow. “No, I haven’t been home for a while. Maybe he sent a letter home”, Eru explained. “Oh yeah, you’re on the adventurer’s pilgrimage, huh” the middle-aged man rubbed his beard, “So, how does it goes?”

Eru explained all his adventure so far, leaving the stuff of the Ancient Trials Ground behind. “Multiple black-cloaked men, huh” the white-haired man rested his chin on his hands, pondering about something. “Did you see a strange emblem or something?” The white-haired man asked. “I did see an emblem on their cloaks. But I couldn’t see what it was”, Eru answered honestly. “Hmm,

After a while, the white-haired man’s expression turned grim, “Those guys are back!” he stood up, eyes filled with fury. “S-sir?” Eru asked stuttering in his words. The white-haired man’s aura rises up; his aura engulfed the entire Aeolus Great City, making it tremble, fully displaying the white-haired man’s prowess. As Eru was near the white-haired man, he got flung back to the wall, cracking it, leaving a human-like mark on it. ‘Terrifying, Eru thought in his heart.

The young man sleeping on the couch was instantly woken up, looking at his father with fear and worried eyes. “Dad, stop! Do you want to destroy the city?” Rex yelled out, amplifying his words with his aura. At this moment, Rex fully displayed his capability as a 5th Grade gold aura erupted from within him. Even so, the white-haired man’s aura still overwhelmed Rex’s own aura. “Damnit, Dad! Restrain your aura!” Rex yelled. He walked near the white-haired man strugglingly, “You’re a 9th Grade Aura Master for Vaizeu’s sake. If you act up, people are going to die, including women and children!” Rex persuaded while still struggling to walk near the white-haired man.

The white-haired man seemingly was able to listen to his son’s word before calming down his turbulent golden aura. “I’m sorry, I can’t restrain myself”, the white-haired man sighed before slumping down to the chair. “For goodness sake, Dad! What the hell were you thinking, flaring up your aura like that!?” Rex yelled at his father with annoyance. The white-haired man hung his head low, “I’m ashamed.” Rex slammed his hand on the table, “Of course you should be. As someone of your calibre, your full power aura could destroy a continent, let alone a city. Don’t you know how many people were terrified by it? Control yourself, for goodness sake”, Rex ranted.

Hearing his son ranted because of his own mistake, the white-haired man continued to hang his head low before suddenly realizing something. The veins of the white-haired man’s face bulged out, “You shameless bastard! You’re just mad because your sleep was interrupted!”, the white-haired man stood up he glared at the young man. Rex flinched, “Y-you know that’s not it”, he said while fidgeting.

The white-haired man was even more sure when he saw Rex’s reaction, “Come here, you unfilial son! I’ll beat you up!” the white-haired man ran, chasing the young man in a circle. Eru, who for all this time was slumped down on the floor, was flabbergasted. He chuckled, shaking his head, ‘I guess family’s a family, he said in his heart.

Noon, Eru was sitting on the sofa with Rex sat beside him. “So, you’re telling me, a group of black-cloaked men gone and tried to kidnap Mr Ken, but instead of finding him by his office, he found two adventurers and kidnapped the one named Monty?” Rex asked again, reaffirming what Eru was saying. Eru nodded, “Yes, that’s right”, he said. “Okay, and another thing you’re saying was that you met men in black-cloaked before inside Borea City?” Rex squinted his eyes. “Yeah. They were kidnapping people. Men, women, children, it doesn’t matter, they were kidnapping them for something”, Eru informed.

The white-haired man stroked his long white beard, “You dealt with them with Yuya from Borea City’s Adventurers Guild, you said?” Eru turned his head towards the white-haired man before nodding, “Yes, that is correct.” The white-haired man clicked his tongue; he slammed his fist on the table, “What the hell are those adventurers are doing? Why did they not reported things like this?” the white-haired man snarled.

“You know who they are, Dad?” Rex asked curiously. The white-haired man nodded; his expression wasn’t pleasant, “I do. In fact, your parents also know who they are”, the white-haired man looked at Eru with a complicated gaze. “My parents?” Eru slightly tilted his head. “Yes. They were sworn enemy, your parents and the men in black-cloaks”, the white-haired man said. He continued, “They called themselves, The Demon Apostle. To other people, however, we called them The Demonic Cult”, the white-haired man said somberly. “The Demonic Cult? You mean that cult? The one that terrorized the world years ago?” Rex’s eyes widen in surprise.

The white-haired man nodded; he gripped his hands together on the table, “Yes. They were the worse of the worse. They would do anything to achieve their goals, including sacrificing women and children for it. I thought we cleaned them son of a bitch down, but it seemed like we did not cut off their heads”, the white-haired man heaved a heavy sigh. Rex’s expression darkens, “So, we’re dealing with psychopaths, great” Rex shook his head, his ponytail swinging from left to right. “Luckily for us, we had one of them in our prison” Rex lips curled into a smile. The white-haired man nodded, “Yes. Maybe we could found out what they’re up to”, he said.

While the two were discussing, suddenly they heard a knock from the white-haired man’s office door. “Come in”, the white-haired man said. A guard walked in, “Commander”, the guard saluted. “At ease”, the white-haired man waved his hand. “Sir”, the guard let down his saluting arm, “The specialized prisoner wanted to talk to you”, the guard reported. The white-haired man nodded, “Okay, lead us”, he stood up. Rex also stood up, following the white-haired man. “You coming?” Rex asked Eru. “Can I not?”

Rex shook his head, “Nope”, he grinned.
