Reincarnator’s Adventures – Chapter 61

Chapter 61

Chapter 61: Chapter 61

Eru followed the father and son duo into some dark corridor. At the end of the corridor, Eru saw two guards, with aura seeping out of their body, standing guard in front of a solid metal door. “Sir”, the two guards saluted. The white-haired man and Rex nodded, “Can you please open the door” Rex said. The two guards looked towards each other, unsure of what they should do. “You’re worried about him?” Rex pointed his thumb towards Eru, “It’s fine. The commander authorized it. Besides, he and few other adventurers were the ones that pacified the guy inside.”

Eru waved his hand at the two guards while smiling wryly. The guards looked at Rex then at the white-haired man before nodding. “Alright”, said one of the guards while opening the metal door for Eru, Rex and the white-haired man. The metal door open with a creak as the trio entered the special prison wing. Inside, Eru found that inside of the room, there was another jail cell. But instead of ordinary iron usually used on the prison cell’s bar, this one had an inscription on it.

“You ready to talk?” the white-haired man stared down at the blue-haired man with intensity. The blue-haired man nodded, “Yes”, he said as he noticed there was an additional person that visited him. “It’s you?” the blue-haired man’s eyes widen a little bit. Eru ignored the blue-haired man as he leaned on the wall near the metal door. Rex crouched down, levelling himself with the sitting blue-haired man, “Now, talk”, he ordered.

“So, you were forced to do this?” Rex raised his eyebrow. The blue-haired man nodded. “So, what? We’re going to have to pity you or something?” Rex said sarcastically. “Think of it what you will. But, everything I say before was the truth”, the blue-haired man said firmly. Rex groaned, “Fine. Let’s say what you told me before was the truth. Then what? What do you expect us to do after hearing your tale? Safe your benefactor? You didn’t even talk about the cult’s plan”, Rex said, scratching the back of his head.

“If I talk, she dies”, the blue-haired man said, slowly closing his eyes. Rex was about to say something but Eru interject, “How would they know that you talked?” The blue-haired man just sat in silence inside the prison cell. The white-haired man frowned, “Something’s preventing him to talk”, he observed. The white-haired man let out his aura, pressing it down towards the blue-haired man. The blue-haired man growled; he was pressed on the ground in pain. “You still wanted to scheme?” the white-haired man recognize immediately what the blue-haired man was trying to do.

The blue-haired man groaned in pain as he slowly raised his head to glared at the white-haired man. “Guards!” the white-haired man yelled out loud, and two guards immediately entered the room. “Your order, sir?” the two guards saluted. “Since he doesn’t want to talk, shackle this man back.”, the white-haired man barked. The white-haired man turned his back. “If you change your mind, well, bad luck on your part then. Go rot in jail for all I care. You had your chances”, the white-haired man said before leaving the specialized prison cell along with Rex and Eru.

The blue-haired man sprawled down on the ground; he raised his head as he glared at the white-haired man hatefully before the white-haired man completely disappeared from his vision.

Andre looked up; he saw the clock inside the giant tower called a city. He heaved a heavy sigh, “I’m so not looking forward to this” Andre scratched the back of his head, clicking his tongue in annoyance. The two guards in front of the army barracks crossed their spears when they saw Andre approached them, “Halt”, they said. “What business that you had here?” asked the left guard to Andre. Andre took out his adventurer’s badge, “I’m the Aeolus Branch guild master. I would like an audience with commander Simba.”

The guards inspected Andre’s badge. They confine to themselves before eventually nodding simultaneously. “Wait here”, said one of the guards as he walked inside the barracks. After waiting for a while, the guard that went into the barracks came out, “Follow me”, he said to Andre. “Lead the way”, Andre said, then he followed the guard inside to the barracks. The guard led the middle-aged man to the white-haired man office, “Commander, he’s here”, said the guard. “Lead him in”, a dignified voice sounded from behind a wooden double door.

The guard opened the door carefully, “Go in”, he said before leaving. “Alright”, Andre said casually. He entered the commander’s office, finding a white-haired man sitting while scanning Andre thoroughly. “Sit down”, the white-haired man gestured Andre to sit down on the chair opposite to him. Andre pulled the chair, slowly sitting on it. When Andre sat, the white-haired man clenched two of his fist together, resting his chin on it. “So, what’s the guild master of the Adventurers Guild want with me?” he asked.

Andre gulped; he’s feeling nervous facing the man in front of him. Andre knew that the man in front of him was the hero of the kingdom, The Fierce Lion they call him. And his strength is no joke. He’s one of few 9th Grade Aura Master in the world, not in the kingdom, in the world. The presence of him alone made the Zephyr Kingdom one of the strongest nations in the world. Although many people thought that Simba has retired from the Royal Guards, not many knew that he had become a commander in Aeolus Great City.

Andre coughed, clearing his throat before speaking his mind, “I’m here for one of our members”, he said. “Your members? If I remembered correctly, the Aeolus branch only had you, Monty and some lass called Amelia, right?” the white-haired man raised his eyebrow. Andre’s lips twitched, “Not from the Aeolus branch. He’s on the pilgrimage”, he explained. “Really? There are still people wanting to become full-fledged Adventurers?” The white-haired man curiously asked. Andre nodded, “There’s still a few every now and then”, he said before continuing, “So, where is he?”

“What did he looked like?” The white-haired man squinted his eyes. “A young man, about 17 or 18, he had black, blueish hair and wearing dark blue jumper”, Andre described. “Oh, that raven-haired kid? Well, he’s not here anymore”, The white-haired man said. Andre frowned, “What do you mean, he’s not here anymore?” he asked. “Do you want to know?” The white-haired man leaned forward, putting weight on his words. Andre nodded, “Yes, please. Since he’s in this region, I’m responsible for him.”

“Do you really want to know? It contains some sensitive information for the army”, the white-haired man said seriously. Inside of his thoughts, Andre was worried. The man in front of him was not one to underestimate. If he wanted to hold Eru up, he would’ve, and it would be very hard for Andre to get Eru back. However, Andre was determined to get Eru back. As a guild master, if he can’t even protect a guild member, Andre might as well quit being the guild master.

Andre gulped; he steeled himself as he nodded his head, “Yes. Although he’s still on pilgrimage, he is in my care. As the guild master of the Aeolus branch, it is my right to know if any adventurers are in trouble in my region”, Andre said firmly. The white-haired man stared at the middle-aged man in front of him. He found that although the middle-aged man in front of him was slightly afraid, he had his resolved firm.

Seeing that, the white-haired man chuckled, “Fine, I’ll tell you”, the white-haired man stood up he looked at the scenery outside of his office. The white-haired man pointed his finger upwards, “He was going there last I saw him.” Andre glanced upward at the tower, “The colosseum?”, he raised his eyebrow. “Yes”, the white-haired man smiled, “He’s being accompanied by one of my subordinates there. He said that he entered the Great Fighting Competition, so I didn’t have a choice but to let him go there. He’s still in custody, though.”

Andre breathes a sigh of relief. He watched the white-haired man’s smile, and he knew straight away that he had been had. Andre shook his head, ‘I didn’t know that the strongest man in the kingdom was such a tease’, he thought in his head. “So, about him being in custody….” Andre paused, “What will it takes for you to release him?” The white-haired man nodded in approval, “As expected from Andre the Sly. You catch on quick.”

The two began discussing each of their terms. And after a hot minute, the two stood up and shook their hands. The white-haired man doesn’t look so good, while Andre had smiles all over his face. “It’s nice doing business with you, commander”, the adventurer’s guild master said with glee. “Yeah, yeah, now get out!” the white-haired man said with regret. Andre left the army barracks with a smile on his face. ‘Haha, even if you’re one of the strongest people in the world, I’m one of the best in terms of negotiation’, Andre thought as he can’t hold his laughter.
