Chapter 84: Chapter 84
“Shit, shit, shit. This is bad, this is freaking bad”, the elderly man paced through the hallway. “I need to inform the others. Fuck, what a screwed up. It’s bad enough that the Mad Titan was on our tail, not to mention the Fierce Lion”, the elderly man murmured until he finally arrived at his office. He opened the door to his office before taking a crystal ball from inside the drawer. The elderly person channelled his aura as the crystal ball lit up blue.
In other places, similar crystal balls lit up blue as well as all the holders were transported into a white empty space. “What’s up, Geralt? Why have you called us here?” said another elderly person; however, he had a monocle on one of his eyes, and his hair was short. “Did little Geralt miss me already?” asked an alluring woman with blue hair, her tone seductive. The other person in the white space just folded his hand, not speaking even one word. The elderly person, Geralt, ignored the alluring woman, “Everyone’s here. Good”, he said. Then, Geralt’s bearing became heavy all of a sudden, “I bring bad news.”
“What’s wrong, little Geralt? Do you need this older sister’s help?” the alluring woman teased; she winked her eye. “The Fierce Lion had surfaced”, one word from Geralt caused all the others inside the white space to frown. The alluring woman had sweat dripped from her face, and the other elderly person with monocle had his whole body shivering. The other person flinched slightly; however, he still stood stoically with his arms folded soon after. “Tch”, the elderly person with a monocle trembled; he opened his mouth, shaking, “That old man is still alive? Geralt, is this news accurate?” he asked, stuttering in his words.
Geralt solemnly nodded, “Yes. I’ve lost an Archon and the highlander’s Beast God Body to him”, Geralt informed. He did not mention his grunts as replaceable, but an Archon and a special constitution were respectably different matters. “That little hothead Zebulon’s gone?” the alluring woman gasped, “How is it possible? Come to think of it, The Fierce Lion could’ve handled him easily.” The elderly person wearing a monocle rubbed his chin, “We need to prepare a countermeasure.” Geralt nodded in agreement, “I agree. Anyone here had some idea they would like to propose?”
The white space was instantly filled with silence. Then, the quiet person that folded his arms the entire time held up his hands, “I have one.” Geralt, the elderly person wearing a monocle and the alluring woman eyes were all wide open. “Finally, our cute little youngster was willing to speak”, the alluring woman pursed her lips, biting her mouth, looking quite seductive. “Come on, speak then”, the elderly person wearing a monocle urged. “Ahem”, The quiet person let out a slight cough, “How about we avoid operating inside the Zephyr Kingdom for a while? Pulled our forces there completely and focused our attention outside?” he suggested.
Geralt flinched, and so did the elderly person wearing a monocle. The alluring woman’s mouth was agape before she let out a hearty laugh, “So, you mean to say that we should abandon everything that we already had, every progress we had made inside of Zephyr Kingdom?” The alluring woman stomped the floor, “Are you out of your mind!?” she shouted; the white space trembled as the air cracked. “Calm down, woman”, the quiet man snarled. He let out a terrifying pressure, causing the alluring woman to stagger back. The pressure from the quiet man was so immense that the white space around them contorted. “Please calm your anger, young master”, pleaded the elderly person wearing a monocle with a face drenched with sweat.
“Geralt shivered but chose to stay silent. The alluring woman was afraid, although she did not show it outside. She scoffed as she folded her arms. The quiet man heaved a sigh, “I lost my temper a bit there, sorry.” Then, calming himself, he took a deep breath before he tapped his glabella, “Back to what I was saying. We need to cut our losses while we still can. Don’t tell me you all forget what The Fierce Lion did to our church back then. Don’t forget, he did not get the title of the Strongest Man in the World for nothing. Even I am not sure I could defeat him right now.”
After hearing the quiet man explanation, all three of them quietened down. All of them, bar the quiet man, had suffered some losses in the hands of The Fierce Lion. They all know how terrifying Simba, The Fierce Lion, is. And none of them wanted to face him right now. Even if all three of them joined forces, they were not confident they could win. “B-but, our progress….” the alluring woman pursed her lips. “We could earn it back later. However, now is not the time to provoke The Fierce Lion. It’s painful, considering that it happened on my watch. For that, I apologize, but now that it had come down to this, the young master’s right. We need to cut our losses while we’re still can”, Geralt exasperated.
The white space became silent once again before Geralt clapped his hands, “We’re all in agreement, then?” The quiet man and the elderly person wearing a monocle nodded while the alluring woman reluctantly accepted. “Then, from now on, we withdrew our activity from the Zephyr Kingdom”, Geralt declared. All four of them nodded before they disappeared from the white empty space one by one. Geralt consciousness came back to his body as he heaved a heavy sigh. He wrote a letter before calling someone to pass it on to his secretary. “Just you wait, Simba. One day, one day I, we, will prevail!” Geralt solemnly swore.
Meanwhile, in another part of the world, the alluring woman woke up, finding herself still inside her chamber. The alluring woman was pissed. Everything they worked so hard for, just because of a single man, was all but gone. She bit her lower lips in anger as blood dripped down from her mouth. “Fucking old cronies! Just because a minor setback happened, you want to erase all of our progress just like that!” the alluring woman screamed on top of her lungs. “And that fucking guy, how dare he!” the alluring woman let out a portion of her powers. Mana surged around her, revealing a little bit of her prowess as one of the elders from the church.
Her mana felt violent; it ramparted across her room, tearing everything in sight. Then, a young man entered the room. Having sensed the alluring woman’s violent mana, he quickly jetted towards the alluring woman’s chamber with haste. “Calm down, Da Ji!” the young man shouted, trying to get the alluring woman’s attention while gripping on a nearby pillar as support. Unfortunately for the young man, the alluring woman did not manage to hear him as she continued to thrash her chamber. “Damn it, Da Ji! Do you want to make me angry!?” the young man grew frustrated. He let out a portion of his aura, resisting Da Ji’s swirling mana.
“Wake up, woman!” the young man roared, his punch Da Ji by the stomach, sending her flying. Da Ji crashed through her chamber and into a building outside. The violent mana surged disappeared when Da Ji was sent flying by the young man. The alluring woman blasted through the rabble, “Can you do it gentler, Taiboku?” she grumbled loudly. Da Ji flew to the air, approaching the young man that was now smiling. “I did try it, but you did not listen”, the young man, Taiboku, said, grinning. “So, what’s making you go berserk?” Taiboku casually asked.
Da Ji grumbled, “It’s like this….” Da Ji recounted everything that occurred in the meeting between her and the other elder of the church. “I see”, Taiboku repeatedly nodded, “You don’t agree with them?” Da Ji scoffed, “Of course. How could I let such progress go?” Taiboku put his hands on the back of his head, “To be honest with you, I somewhat agree with them.” Da Ji eyes shot red, “What!?” Taiboku flinched backwards, “Calm down, Da Ji. I only agreed with them on some aspects. Pulling our resources entirely from the Zephyr Kingdom was stupid, though.” Da Ji’s expression brightened, “Right!? It’s stupid, but I got no choice. Since the majority of them agreed, I could not do anything”, she hung her shoulders down.
Taiboku rubbed his chin, “Maybe you can’t do anything, but I can.” Da Ji’s eyes opened wide, “What do you mean?” Taiboku folded his arms, “Well, it’s like this. You can’t move because you were outnumbered, right? So, how about you let me move in your stead, and that way, the church will not fault you with it since I’m not part of your church.” Da Ji eyes softened, “But it’s dangerous.” Taiboku put his hand on Da Ji’s chin while his other hand caressed Da Ji’s cheek gently, “It’s fine. The Fierce Lion wouldn’t notice a thing. After all, my organization and the church does thing differently. Besides, if it makes you happy, I would gladly do anything.”
“Taiboku”, tears of joy dripped from Da Ji’s eyes as they continued to embrace each other until the morning came.
