Chapter 85: Chapter 85
Aeolus Great City,
After the Great Fighting Tournament ended, the city’s atmosphere was jubilant. The people seemed to forget that intruders had come and crashed the final of the tournament. All of this was thanks to the powerful Phantasma, who erased the people memories. Inside the commander’s office, Phantasma sat down opposite Simba with an unsightly expression. “Mind explaining to me once again?” Phantasma asked; pursing his lips, he grumbled to his old mentor. “Didn’t I already tell you, the Demonic Cult had come back,” Simba said nonchalantly while casually sipping his tea.
Veins bulged out on Phantasma’s forehead, his eyebrows twitched as he felt irritated, “Don’t just casually sip your tea!” Phantasma slammed the office’s desk, “Why did you not tell me about your plan? You even told the little brat, oh, what’s his name, Eru, which you did not know until he came to this city.” Simba finished his tea calmly, ignoring Phantasma’s rant; he gently put the teacup down, stroking his beard before letting out a wide grin towards his old disciple, “Throwing tantrum now, kid? I guess even after all this time, you haven’t grown up yet….”
“That’s it! You and me, now! I’ll kick your ass, old man!” Phantasma shot up with anger, violent mana swirling from within his body. “Tch, tch, tch. Temper, temper”, Simba said, using his aura to contain the violent mana from Phantasma, preventing him from destroying the office. “Sit down”, Simba asserted before Phantasma was pushed back to his seat by Simba’s sheer might. Phantasma was startled before pouting on his chair, “Hmph, always using force to assert your dominance. You never change, old man.” Simba laughed out loud, “Who do you think started it first? Always the sore loser, huh, Alan.”
Phantasma frowned, his expression contorted, becoming scarier by the second, “Don’t call me by that name again!” he growled. Simba lips curled up, “And what? You’re going to do what?” Phantasma scoffed; he stood up from the chair, “I’m leaving. I should’ve known that I couldn’t trust you”, he said as he slammed the office’s door. Simba’s smile left his face soon after Phantasma left his office. “Aren’t you being too hard on him, Dad?” Rex that slept on the office’s couch for the entire time asked. Simba sighed. He stroked his beard as he looked up to the ceiling, “No, in fact, I need to be harsher to him. He’s just a coward who ran away from his problem. Until he faced that problem head-on, I will never stop being harsh on him.”
Rex scratched the back of his head; he let out a sigh before opening his mouth, “But, dad, he’s still a human being. If you continue to do that to him, someday, sometime, he will reach his breaking point. And you know a thing or two about people reaching their breaking point, right?” Simba grunted, “Perhaps. But he’s my disciple; there’s a difference.” Rex raised his eyebrow a little, “What?” Simba let out a proud smile, “I did not build them to be weak.”

Inside Great Aelous City’s Adventurers Guild, Eru was waiting while sitting on the couch of the guild’s lobby. “This place is as empty as it was before. Did being an Adventurer lose their appeal already? If so, I should’ve chosen to become a merchant instead”, complained Eru while heaving a big sigh. “But if you become a merchant, then we wouldn’t have met. And we would never discover our young rising star”, Andre came out from his office while holding a sheet of paper. “Is that my letter of recommendation?” Eru asked.
“Nope”, Andre said with a grin, “Yuya gave you a letter, right?” Eru nodded. “Borea City is falling behind in time. Nowadays, we use a certain book and a special stamp for it”, Andre explained. “Here”, Andre handed a handbook with the Adventurers Guild insignia. “Is this it?” Eru took the handbook from Andre as he flipped it around. Eru found an empty spot alongside Great Aeolus City’s stamp on the first page. “Why is this empty?” Eru curiously asked. “You need to get it from Yuya. For the time being, you can just clip Yuya’s letter to the first spot”, explained Andre while reading the sheet of paper in his hand.
“So, what’s that then?” Eru pointed at the sheet of paper in Andre’s hand. “Ken’s message. He wanted to congratulate you personally”, Andre informed. “Oh, tell them I said no thank you”, Eru sighed. “Unfortunately, it’s a formal request for the Adventurers Guild. And trainee Adventurer cannot refuse the guild master’s order”, Andre grinned. “Shoo, come on, move on. The client’s waiting”, Andre gestured with a wide smile on his face. Eru scoffed, “Fine, I’ll go,” Eru murmured before leaving the Adventurers Guild’s building.

Eru let out a heavy sigh after he arrived in front of Mr Ken’s office, “Here we go….” Eru shook his head before knocking on Mr Ken’s door. “Ah, Mr Eru, come in, come in”, the voice inside the office said as the door opened up on its own. When the door fully opened, Eru saw Mr Ken was leisurely sitting while sipping a cup of tea. After that, Eru walked inside of Mr Ken’s office before the door magically closed itself.
“Please, sit. I implore”, Mr Ken said as he gestured his hand, and a chair materialized out of nowhere. Eru eyes widened in surprise, “Sure,” Eru sat down across Mr Ken, “So, what is this about?” Mr Ken finished the last of his tea as he put down the cup, “Hmm, can I ask you something?” Eru nodded, “Ask away” Mr Ken flashed a smile, “I’m curious. Is there a chance that any of your ancestors a dragon?”
“Why do you say that?”
Mr Ken filled up his teacup again as he sipped his tea, “I watched your fight, Mr Eru. Your fight against the Pink Ogre was wonderful, but the way that you fought the Red Monster with Simba’s son was a revelation.”
Eru eyes squinted, “How did you know?” Mr Ken smiled mischievously, “I’m a Draconian, Mr Eru. We had plenty of ways to do so. Barging into Phantasma’s black barrier was an easy thing for me.” Eru frowned, ‘DIdn’t this guy need my and Mr Andre’s help on taking down the blue-haired man?’ he thought, confused. “I can hear what you’re thinking, Mr Eru. See, Mr Eru, the thing about Draconians is that we all had a period of weakness each year. That’s why so many of us are extinct now”, Mr Ken casually said while sipping another cup of tea.
“Uh, that’s kinda dark”, Eru lamented. “Enough about our race. The reason why I called you here is because of your technique. That was Dragon’s Rage, wasn’t it?” Mr Ken asked with curiosity plastered all over his face. ‘Dragon’s Rage? So even Draconians had already forgotten about the Dragon Force technique. If so, then how old is that shady old man?’ Eru spoke to himself inside his mind. “What if it is?” Eru raised his eyebrow. Mr Ken’s eyes brightened, “I knew it! I knew it! A freaking Dragon’s alive. My ancestor, I’ve found a dragon!”
Eru flinched at the reverence that emerged in Mr Ken’s eyes. “Yo, dude, chill. I’m not a freaking dragon”, Eru explained. Mr Ken eyes shot forward, “What do you mean, you’re not a dragon!? You know the Dragon’s Rage technique, and you survived using that. What more proof do I need?” Eru was conflicted; he wanted to retort the fact that he wasn’t a dragon; however, if Eru told Mr Ken about the Dragon Force Technique and how it could be used by everybody in exchange for using your life force, well…. Eru still did not trust Mr Ken yet.
Eru rubbed his chin, “Let’s say I am a dragon or whatever, so why did I not know I’m one?” he decided to follow Mr Ken’s delusion. “I don’t know. However, legend told that dragon was born with a hereditary memory. Since dragons were already extinct, they may leave descendants. Their bloodline may be awakened within you, bringing with it the hereditary memory contained within dragons bloodline; thus you knowing the Dragon’s Rage technique”, Mr Ken theorized.
Eru felt strange, ‘Where did this guy get all these theories from?’ but Eru showed a nonchalant attitude outside. Eru massaged his glabella, “I’m not made for this. I need to calm down” Mr Ken smiled, he waved his hand, sending a cup full of tea, “It must be hard finding out you’re from a different race all of a sudden. Please, drink. It may calm you down.” Eru drank from the teacup slowly, savouring the taste. Suddenly, an idea struck Eru. ‘I could find out more about Dragon and Draconians from this guy. That shady old man knew, but he wouldn’t even tell me,’ Eru’s eyes flashed. Eru put down the teacup before opening his mouth, “So, Mr Ken, can you tell me all about Dragon and Draconian?”
Mr Ken felt delighted, “Sure, anything for a dragon’s descendant.”
