Chapter 92: Chapter 92
After he’s done dealing with the four failing applicants, Eru looked at the remaining adventurer’s applicants, “Right, are you all ready for round two?” The passing adventurer’s applicants nodded with determination in their eyes. “Good. Please wait a second”, Eru said; he turned his head to Ling, “Do you have a training hall here?” Ling nodded, “Yup, follow me again.” The remaining adventurer’s applicants and Eru followed Ling but not before Ling called out to a guild staff that’s passed by. “Take care of them for me, will you, Gu?” Ling ordered. “Yes, ma’am”, replied the guild staff named Gu.
“Here you go, the adventurer’s training hall”, Ling presented to Eru and the remaining adventurer’s applicants. “Whoa, it’s quite big”, Eru commented as he saw an arena right in the middle of the hall; right alongside it, there were various exercise devices and wooden weapons of all kinds. “I think this branch is the biggest Adventurers Guild branch that I had seen”, Eru exclaimed. Ling’s lips curled into a smile, “Right? Well, if you went to the capital, it would be even bigger.” “Really?” Eru’s eyes widened, “I seemed to recall that adventurers are dying outside Gale Territory.”
Ling shrugged her shoulders, “Depends on the area, I suppose. Right, what are you planning to do next?” she asked. “Well…. A couple more tests. Although my experience as an adventurer is not that long, I’m quite good at judging people”, Eru said with a smile. Ling looked at Eru with sceptical eyes, “Alright, I leave it to you. Just remember that if I’m not satisfied, you will need to do another task.” Eru shrugged, “You’re planning to do that anyway.” Ling grinned, “Well, do you best,” she tapped Eru in the chest with her fist before walking away to the side.
Eru took a deep breath, “Okay, are you guys done admiring the training hall?” The adventurer’s applicants jolted out from their admiration before immediately focusing on the raven-haired young man before them. “Congratulations to all of you for passing my first test. Did any of you notice what I’m trying to do in the first test?” Eru asked. The remaining adventurer’s applicants thought for a moment before shaking their heads. However, there’s someone among the adventurer’s applicants that raised his hand. “Um…. I think you want to test our adaptability and our tactics”, he answered hesitatingly.
“Adaptability and tactics, huh. Why do you think that?” Eru asked back with interest. The adventurer’s applicant that raised his hand was a young man with green hair and green squinted eyes. He hesitated for a moment before opening his mouth, “With adaptability, you tasked us to pair up with other applicants that we might previously don’t know and had to work together with them. Thus, we needed to quickly familiarize ourselves with the situation.”
“Uh-huh, and?”
“And for tactics,” the young adventurer’s applicant continued, “Since we needed to quickly familiarize ourselves with each other, we needed to form some sort of tactics to better our opponents.” Eru nodded, “Nice explanation, but that’s not all. The remaining aspect that I’m looking for in the previous test will be important in the next one.” Eru then gestured his hand, “Right, everyone, please prepare yourself. The next test I’m giving you will be this” Eru then unsheath his sword, “You each will be fighting me one by one. Whoever satisfied me most will pass, and whoever not shall not.”
“Before that, however, please decide which one of you would go first and the order of things”, Eru said as the adventurer’s applicants all huddled up in discussion.

“Oh, so you’re going first?” Eru’s eyebrow raised in interest. “Yes, please take good care of me”, the young man from before bowed. Then, the young man brandished his sword, “I’ll make the first move”, the young man said as he slashed forward with his thin sword. Eru easily avoided the young man’s attacks with his hands on his back. “You talked about tactics earlier, but you’re just swinging your sword around. Use your head a little”, Eru said; he slightly used his foot to trip the young man.
The young man managed to avoid Eru’s foot, but then Eru immediately followed by punching the young man on the stomach. The young man fell down in pain as Eru’s mouth opened, “Use your attack to set up for another one”, Eru advised. Before long, the young man stood up. Holding his sword tight, the young man pointed it at Eru, “Not yet, here I go again!” he said passionately. The young man swung his sword downwards, making Eru step aside to dodge. This time, however, the young man immediately followed it with a shoulder barge to Eru.
The young man did an unexpected, causing him to finally hit Eru. Of course, Eru let the young man hit him. How can an attack from someone without aura be dangerous to Eru? Eru smiled, “Good, you’re listening” Eru stabilized himself from the young man’s shoulder barge, but the young man was still not done. After the shoulder barge, the young man used both of his hands to grip his sword tightly before slashing diagonally at Eru. Eru leaned himself backwards, slightly avoiding the tip of the young man’s sword. “You’re listening, but your attacks are still too honest” Eru smiled. “Observed this”, Eru launched a fist towards the young man’s face.
The young man was about to dodge Eru’s fist when the latter’s fist opened up. Eru’s palm blocked the young man’s vision before Eru used it to his advantage. Eru stuck up his legs, he tried to trip the young man once again, but the young man seemed to sense it and avoided it. Eru lips curled up into a small smile. Then, Eru flicked his thumb, sending his sword flying, hitting the young man square on his jaw. The hit disoriented the young man before he was sent down to the ground, tripped by Eru. “And that’s that”, Eru said with a smile.
The young man stood dumbfounded on the floor. The rest of the adventurer’s applicants were also dumbfounded while a whistling sound echoed through the training hall. “Nice technique”, Ling complimented. “Thanks”, Eru replied to Ling’s compliment with a small smile, then he looked at the young man. “You’ve done well. I’ll inform you if you pass or not later once I finish. Now, next person, come up please”, Eru gestured with his hand. Eru went by a person by person, and all of them, he defeated effortlessly. “Oh, you’re that woman”, Eru was surprised to see his next opponent. Eru recognized the woman in front of him.
She was the one Eru met outside the Adventurers Guild. Eru sized up the woman in front of him. The woman had blue hair and teal eyes, and she was dressed like a warrior. The woman bowed ninety degrees, “Please take care of me”, she stood up and readied herself with determination flaming in her eyes. “No time for small talk, eh” Eru smirked, “Come!” Then, the woman suddenly unleashed her aura, revealing that she was a 1st Grade Aura Master. “Hooh, it looks like this will be interesting” Eru also flared up his aura, revealing his 3rd Grade prowess. The rest of the room gawked at this, and the woman in front of Eru frowned.
Ling’s eyes flashed, “So his reputation as a genius precedes him. This kid was even more monstrous than what Andre’s report said. Only seventeen years old? I wonder how strong he would be once he grew up; I can’t wait”, she bit her lips in excitement. The woman in front of Eru opened her mouth, “I’m Lan, please”, she said before suddenly swinging her sword towards Eru. Her sword was coated with her aura, making Eru’s eyes serious. Eru had to quickly pull out his sword to block the woman’s attack. “Interesting”, Eru flared up his raven-coloured aura, smacking the woman’s sword to the side before striking the woman with his sword.
The blue-haired woman quickly dodged to the side, making Eru’s attack miss. Although Eru’s attack did not hit its target, the floor that it hits cleaved in two. The blue-haired woman quickly jumped back, staring at Eru with awe in her eyes. On the side, Ling’s forehead twitched, “Oy, don’t destroy the training hall!” she shouted. However, Eru did not listen to Ling. He continued his attack on the blue-haired woman, peppering her with a flurry of his strikes. The blue-haired woman struggled, facing Eru’s relentless attacks she could only block and parry. “What’s wrong? Is this all you’ve got?” Eru taunted with a small grin on his face.
Eru’s words struck the blue-haired woman’s pride. “I’ll show you what I’ve got!” the blue-haired woman yelled. She gathered her aura inside her body before exploding it outside. The blast from the explosion blasted Eru away. “Heh, just a desperate move. Come then, this time you attack”, Eru grinned. The smoke from the explosion dissipated, revealing that the blue-haired woman was fine. “Then, here I go!” the blue-haired woman gripped her sword tightly before charging at Eru.
