“Did everything go as planned?” Amelia asked right as I arrived downstairs.
Both she and Phoebe were terrified that it might have been someone else coming down as they swung a sword right toward my head as I arrived.
They quickly apologized, and I didn’t really care much since it was only normal for them to want to protect themselves.
“Not really, there was a slight change of plan. You’re going to escort the two of us to the Icy Lake and person. Also, your Royal Adviser is knocked out in your chambers, and I gave him a few sleeping pills so that he doesn’t do anything while we’re gone. Oh, and also, he’s the one in charge while you’re gone!” I said with a bright smile to her.
She seemed extremely confused over everything that happened as she honestly couldn’t believe that he had managed to do all this without killing anyone.
“Did you kill anyone?” She asked, eying me strangely as if already guessing the answer.
I shook my head. “No! Isn’t that great? I just tricked all your elves into thinking that I was actually the queen. Nothing too difficult, no worries. Anyway, we have no time to waste. We need to head toward the Icy Lake as fast as possible. I dealt with the Royal Adviser, but there’s a chance that another noble might contact Zero before we arrive. We need to move as fast as possible.”
As I talked and talked, I could see the expression on Amelia’s face slowly twisting into one of pure confusion.
“Wait, wait, I must have heard that wrong?” She said as she raised her index finger in my direction. “You turned into me? How? Why?”
I just smirked. “Like this.”
I used the power from the fairies as I changed my appearance once more into the one of the queens right before their eyes.
Phoebe’s and Amelia’s eyes widened right away.
They started touching me pretty much everywhere…even around my chest area. They simply couldn’t believe that this was real. And they were right. This was all but an illusion. I still looked the exact same; it’s simply that they could not see through my illusion, just like the rest of the ice elves.
“This is incredible…can you show me how to do this?” Phoebe asked as she simply couldn’t believe it.
“Hm. I’d have to ask a friend if it’s possible. I’m not too sure; this stuff is somewhat complicated, and I’m a special case when it comes to this stuff.”
Phoebe nodded heavily, eager to know more about this.
“Anyways, let’s go!”
***
It took a few moments, but we reached the top of the stairs where pretty much all the nobles were waiting for us, glaring at both me and Phoebe as if we were their nemesis or their allies.
Even now, I could clearly pinpoint the allies from the traitors.
After all, I had done nothing wrong; I had just killed those who deserved it, just like I had always done in my life.
“It’s them! The killers!” One of the nobles still exclaimed.
“No, it’s our saviors!” Another noble chimed in, cutting him off.
“He killed our brethren. It needs to die. Queen Amelia, if you still decide to help them, don’t expect my family to support you in the future.”
“I agree! I won’t support you if you guide them to the Icy Lake.”
“Me too!”
Then, all the traitors slowly started saying stuff like that, saying that they would never support her ever again.
Amelia turned and looked over to me as she could only wonder what had happened while I had taken her appearance. However, it really wasn’t my fault. They were just all corrupt. I had done nothing bad; I had just revealed the truth that had caused such anger.
Still, Amelia wasn’t stupid. She knew that she could not back down from this situation. She knew that it was the right decision, and she would have no choice but to deal with the backlash afterward…and she would succeed in calming the situation down. At least, I hoped she did. Otherwise, it would be somewhat my fault that she isn’t the queen anymore.
Nevertheless, she glanced over at both me and Phoebe for a short moment before looking back toward the horde of Ice Elves all looking at us.
“I will guide them to the Icy Lake even if you guys promise to go after me once I return. Those humans have done nothing wrong. In fact, it was us who wronged them by ordering assassins to kill them. We should be grateful that they are still alive. If you believe the opposite, then you do not deserve to be called an Ice Elf.”
Amelia’s words were harsh but precise. She was right about this whole thing. After all, most of those who were still opposing us were corrupted already. So, there was no need to care about any of them.
The elves who had been shouting that they would stop supporting her, suddenly stopped talking as they looked at each other, wondering what they were supposed to do next.
After all, this whole thing had probably been a last-minute plan that they had concocted while I went down to get both Phoebe and Amelia. Still, I had to admit that it was quite funny of them to think that such a thing would have worked.
“Now, if you guys cannot say anything else. I will leave with both of them. Don’t even try to follow us. The punishment for those who do will be extremely painful. And truth be told, they might receive the same punishment as those assassins.”
Amelia kept a bright smile on her face as she said those things. However, there was no single smile on the faces of the Ice Elves as they could only nod their heads like good little subjects before their queen.
“See you guys in a day or two, maybe more, depending on the situation,” Amelia said as she turned around with both me and Phoebe following right behind her tracks.
