With those last words from Amelia, the Ice Elves could only glare at us as we walked away from them. Most of them were frowning, clearly unhappy with this whole situation.
After all, it was only normal. They were all under the Royal Adviser, so now that his plan had failed, they were bound to be unhappy and extremely nervous over what might happen.
I had no idea what the Royal Adviser had told them. But it had to be something along the lines of: “Don’t ever let those two get to the Icy Lake.”
At least, I hoped that it was something along those lines since it would mean that I was on the right track to finding him.
Nevertheless, once we left the castle, Amelia had no choice but to get a disguise since everyone in the street would be able to see her leaving the city with us humans. In fact, both me and Phoebe also had to get a disguise, and luckily for them, I had the perfect power to change their appearance.
The power from the fairies. I could also use it on them, which is exactly what I did to change both their appearances and mine. In fact, even though the queen had given some warnings about not following us, it seemed that a few individuals were still planning on doing something like this.
I felt their presence right away. However, now that we had changed our clothes and appearance because of my skill, they completely lost track of us in an instant.
Surely enough, we managed to make our way out from the underground city the Ice Elves had made. However, there was still one slight problem. We needed to get through the Ice Gate before us. But there were guards guarding it, looking at each and every single person who entered and left the underground kingdom.
They were checking some card every time someone went through, like some sort of way to ID every single person going through.
I pondered for a moment. However, I quickly found a solution.
I got closer to Amelia and whispered, “I will transform you back into the queen so that the guards will let us through without any problems. Okay?”
She nodded shyly, her cheeks turning red. It seemed that it was the very first time someone was muttering something so close to her ear. After all, she was a queen. No male would get close to her most of the time as they were scared of offending her.
The kingdom also didn’t have a king, which meant that there was no man in Amelia’s life… not that I was interested whatsoever.
As we were about to appear before the guards, I deactivated the illusion over Amelia’s body.
“Alright, you can go through.”
The guards were clearly bored out of their minds as they barely paid attention to who was going through, and it was about the same thing with us as he barely looked up when we walked in front of them. However, when he saw the perfect white hair before him, his head looked up ever so slightly as he caught the sight of the most beautiful woman in the entirety of the kingdom.
“T-The queen? Are you really the queen?”
Amelia motioned for him to stay silent as she didn’t want to make a scene since it might alert those who had been trying to follow us out of the underground kingdom.
“I am. Now, please let us three go through; this is a private matter, and absolutely no one must know of this.”
The guard was all red as he kept looking toward Amelia’s breasts. “I-I understand.”
“This will be our little secret~!” Amelia said in a flirting manner, and the guard mindlessly nodded, letting them through. “If you keep this little secret, I might give you a gift.”
I smirked. As much as she wasn’t used to having men close to her, she sure as hell knew how to use men as she wished. She flirted just enough with the guard, and there was now practically no way he would say anything to anyone since he would keep desperately hoping for that gift from the queen.
His imagination was definitely running wild right now, and I could somewhat understand him. After all, Amelia was truly a top beauty. Her face was absolutely perfect, her hair was also the perfect length, complimenting her face at the same time. Her body was also on another level as her curves were not too big nor too small. There was also the fact that her body was clearly that of someone who had trained for years, as she was very lean.
Still, I wasn’t interested at all in her… That’s right, I really, really didn’t want to get to know her better.
Nevertheless, I had no choice but to remove those naughty thoughts from my mind. After all, we had an important task ahead of us, and it was no time to get distracted right at the finish line.
“We got through… should we keep our disguises?” the queen asked as she looked around herself.
“Yes. Let’s keep them until we arrive at the Icy Lake. We don’t want people to notice you on the way there. They might think that we are kidnapping you or something similar.”
The queen pondered for a moment before answering, “You’re right. Then, please change my appearance as you wish.”
One second later, she was turned back into an average-looking person, who looked nothing like her whatsoever.
“Alright. Follow me. The Icy Lake isn’t that far from here; however, if we get lost… we will never find it,” Amelia said with confidence as she walked in front of us. “There is a very special path to follow, so make sure to follow me with a lot of precision.”
As she uttered those words, I realized that it truly would have been a lost cause to find the Icy Lake without the help of the Ice Elves. I could now understand a little better why it had taken Phoebe so much time to find this place.
The very fact that she had gotten to the Icy Lake on her own was already impressive enough, to be honest.
‘Zero, just you wait. I’m coming for you.’
