‘She is back…’
I thought, my breath caught in my throat. The one who belonged to the five divine beasts that once walked the world, the one said to have been lost to time itself. She, the one who died fighting the gods of the world, was swallowed by the very essence of their power. The one they called the Swallower of Gods. Her name was Fenrir, the Eater of Gods.
The five divine beasts are said to have risen to the level of god during the war thousands of years ago, a war that changed the world. The five beasts, among which stood the Dragon God, the one that watches over the sea, the Kraken, the one that watches the sky, Quetzalcoatl, a being of both storm and light, often called the Winged Serpent of the Horizon.
The last one is Ignisra, the elemental phoenix, the mistress of fire and rebirth. All of them are named as the five divine beasts walking within these lands and the ones that deal with and rule over the beasts that rise to the Imperial realm within this world, the realm as stated before, where the beasts would be able to take up the human form.
A range of power where the beasts themselves would become a walking disaster that would take a lot of effort to subdue. Each of these beasts, upon once reaching the level of the Imperial, would be taken in by the four beasts of the divine that rule over their own set of realms attached to this very world. In a sense, they exist in this world within a pocket connection, ruling over their land.
It’s the very same one with the dragon realm, thus making them a very powerful force in this world that not many would dare to touch. And within that legend was the lost God Eater, Fenrir, the one having said to be the most dangerous among the five divine beasts, and now she has returned to the world.
The trembling of the city in front of me continued, a deep, scorching feeling within my heart. And as I lifted my shirt to gaze at it, a symbol, the symbol of a wolf head screaming at the moon, was seen lighting up in my chest. Its design was as beautiful as it was godly, the mark of connection that I had made with Luna now lighting up, and along with it, the position of where I am currently.
‘Now, this is a headache.’
I felt a bittersweet feeling filling my mouth at the current situation. I dearly wanted to see and hug that fluff of a ball that I love, but I also feared the situation in which she would arrive and cause a scene, thus leading to a situation I wouldn’t be able to control at all. After all, when a divine beast moves, gods know the world moves with it.
As the scorching feeling got heavier, I felt a connection in my chest, one that was small before due to the distance we were in and also because Luna wasn’t as powerful as this before. And with it all gone, I could feel my wolf so dearly now, its connection to me, her yearning for me, and the desire to ravage everything in front of her as she ran up to me.
But beyond that, I could feel her, in a sense, asking for me, asking for my permission, and that warmed my heart. My gaze watched into the beautiful city in front of me, seeing its majesty that still awes me, and then I closed my eyes. Bringing Luna back right now would not be an ideal situation; after all, I have just begun to activate my phase 2.
I have just begun to lay my plan to slowly burn the rivalry between the women, to manipulate them, set the fire, and control it at my will and discretion. And even above that, I already have a shit load of things to do, the war council I will have to start working with once Tria sets things well with her grandmother, and even several other things, even just at the academy.
Not to mention, I have to deal with the Empress aiming to deal with my sister. A lot of things still exist for me to do, and yet, in no way do I feel I want to reject Luna. My brain says it’s not good, but my heart misses that furball that I used to find warmth in during my adventures, the little wolf that I found wounded near death.
The little wolf that was never part of my plan but that had come to become an indispensable part of my life, a companion I had spent forgotten nights with, hugging each other as we slept, and one that I have come to care for and love as my own. My eyes then opened up to the city in front of me, a light smile on my face.
‘Come to me, I miss you too.’
It was a simple feeling, but I am sure Luna got the message, the world-shaking for a moment, the world feeling as if a pressure it couldn’t handle was rushing towards it. A small chuckle left my mouth. As I said, a very small per cent above the 1% controls this world, and sadly for them, I am making them shake in their boots right now.
‘Guess there is even a selfish desire mixed into it as well.’
I laughed, seeing the whole city shake.
…
Third Person POV:
The world, in a sense, did turn silent the moment Fenrir, currently named Luna, regained its power. It shook the whole world, every wolf in the world feeling a tingle right down to their spines, wolf-like beasts that roam the world without their master having located it, awakening.
Imperial-ranked monsters that didn’t choose anyone among the four divine beasts now turned to look at their master. Beasts that had fallen dormant for times unknown had awakened from their slumber, the presence of their master they used to follow finally breaking them out of the sleep they had put themselves in.
At that moment, the number of howls that filled the whole world was beyond question, from the highest to the lowest ones of the world, knew that something had happened. And only the ones that existed in the lowest layer knew the fact that what that something was, the dread that passed through the bodies of the powerful people being beyond question.
A primal force of nature thought to have been lost to the world had awakened. It had now shown its power to the world, and along with it, the presence of the other four beasts that had hidden or gone to sleep shifted from its oasis, their presence bursting forth in their own manner as they looked forth to the beast that even they have come to fear.
The Dragon God blinked its eyes, its presence bursting forth, both with fear and curiosity, its reach reaching forth beyond what any could mark as it gazed upon the majestic wolf standing in the heights that made the mountain near it look small, its beautiful silver sheen sparkling in the sky, while its blue eyes were seemingly waiting for something, its essence both danger of Gluttony and End that it embodies.
“Fenrir, the fallen beast of End…”
The Dragon God muttered, the power from Fenrir making even the Dragon God take a step back, showing that even though it’s born back, it’s still the beast that no one dares to mess with.
…..
Within the deepest depths of the water, content at a range that many couldn’t sense, a beast that lay dormant, one that has taken the sea as its resting place, trembled. Its size that made any monsters of the sea look small, slowly shifting, and along with it, the water currents shifted with it. The great monsters of the sea that had given themselves to the divine beast Kraken trembled in fear from its sheer aura.
The tentacles that spread wide enough to cover the bottom floor of the sea regained its strength, the aura it felt causing even the Kraken to shift as its words spread out.
“Old friend, you are finally back?”
The anticipation in the Kraken’s voice is ever-present.
…..
The realm of fire burning from its sheer heat took a step back; the phoenix resting on the molten lava, whose heat can take out any sun, shifted for the first moment since time immemorial. Its feathers, beautiful enough to put the best artisans into a loving frenzy, trembled lightly, the heat from it affecting the very sun it rests on.
The heat provided from the sun pales in comparison to the heat the phoenix gave off. Far away, the beasts of fire and earth trembling in their spots, the heat itself rising up a notch to a level where even the beasts that deal with fire felt uncomfortable. For the first time in a long time, Ignisra, the phoenix, opened its eyes, and along with it, the whole realm shifted.
Godly flames awakened from its body as its eyes trembled a bit from a memory it couldn’t throw back, emotions flashing through it as it took in the aura covering over it.
“So you’ve finally returned…”
Ignisra muttered, its voice enough to put the best mermaids to shame.
