Chapter 103: 103. MISTAKE
Mike’s bulky frame appeared in everyone’s sight. Noah himself couldn’t help but have a tinge of respect for the man. His body had gone bronze most likely from long exposure to the sun. Though burly, his body had compact muscles and there were no excess fat where there shouldn’t be.
By normal standards he looked to be the perfect man for most ladies, coupled with his long black hair, he was simply beautiful.
The other three seemed to give way for his figure, stepping back to let him have his turn first.
Mike nodded his head at that sight, his eyes never having left Noah’s figure.
Alex turned to Noah and was about to say something when Noah’s voice rang out.
“I accept the challenge,” Noah stated walking towards the round stage, while also removing his long coat since it would get in the way of his fight.
Mike immediately began walking towards the stage. The entire room totally silent as they anticipated the fight.
Noah himself would have preferred that they fought last since it would probably be the best fight, but he remained okay with the current turn of events.
Climbing the stage, Noah watched the light-purple veil give way for his entrance, solidifying after he had completed his passage.
Mike did the same, no words escaping his mouth even after they had spent a few seconds over 300m apart from each other.
During that period of both men inspecting each other, green inscriptions lit up on the rooms large ceiling.
Those Inscriptions then fell down in walls in straight green lines until they arrived and connected with the round stage, floating screens appearing thereafter.
“It’s a great pleasure to be able to fight a man like you,” Mike said, right after the appearance of the floating screens. Their words being heard by all in the room.
“We haven’t really started, but okay,” Noah replied unsure of what to really do or say.
“Why don’t we tell each other a bit about ourselves.” Mike spoke with a genuine smile on his face. Noah felt even more at loss of words at that point.
“If you are unsure of what to say I’ll start,” Mike reassured taking a few steps to the side.
“As you can see I put a lot of work into my body. This is because I plan to focus more on it and my mind when I achieve tier 3.” Mike immediately started, Noah listening attentively.
“I’ve been matched with people my level and won multiple times, but after seeing you in action, I wanted to know how I fared with pure geniuses.”
“Physical strength has always fascinated and excited me so I hope you do not disappoint,” Mike performed a light bow.
Noah felt awkward after Mike’s words, the young man had not really said much about himself. Only that he planned to focus more on his body and mind when he became a tier 3, which was a bit interesting, since Noah didn’t have much information on such levels, but not really much.
“I appreciate your calling me a genius, but that is not so. I am only slightly better than the mass,” Noah said taking a few steps to his right side.
“I personally do not have much plan on when I achieve tier 3, so there won’t be much on that,” Noah started an aura filled with battle intent began to seep out if his body.
“…..but in the subject of strength why don’t we test ourselves,” Noah said, his aura gaining Intensity. Mike also starting to get excited, performing light stretches to get his body ready for the eventual clash.
Right before Noah moved, he recalled something which he didn’t hesitate to confirm from Mike.
“Just to make sure we are on the same page, there won’t be spells right?,” Noah said.
“Yes of course, why did you think I called it a brawl,” Mike raised his large arms up, as their excitement reached it’s peak, silence prevailing admidst them.
Then they moved.
Both their figures directly vanished from their previous positions, mild cracks spreading on the stages surface.
The two men closed the space between them in an instant, their fists going on to launch an attack immediately.
Bringing his right fist in front of him, Noah watched as Mike fists met his.
An explosion of power spread out, causing both men to get launched backwards.
Glancing at his fist Noah saw that he was totally fine, but that couldn’t be said for his opponent who had dislocated his right arm after the clash.
‘I held back a lot of my power,” Noah thought while he watched Mike immediately put his arm back into its joint, without showing the slightest bit of pain.
Noah dashed forward right after Mike was done with that action.
Mike watched Noah dash forward, but shock filled his mind when he realized that he couldn’t follow his opponents movement.
Worry tried to spread in his mind but he cut it off. He had trained his body to take as many hits as possible and remain in a good state.
Mike was known among his peers for his Incredible resilience, being able to take hits from more than five people his power level, which was why he trusted his body to handle whatever Noah threw at him.
But that trust vanished when Noah’s kick struck him.
Mike clearly remembered to have been focused on the space in front of his eyes, but when the incredible power in Noah’s kick met his body, he instantly found himself at the edge of the stage, intense pain filling his mind.
Multiple mouthfuls of blood poured out of his mouth, while Mike ascertained that most of his ribs had been bashed.
His mind threatened to lose consciousness but his innate resilience kicked in at that point. While surprisingly ecstasy filled his mind. He had never taken a hit so powerful in his life.
‘Incredible,’ Mike thought in the span of an instant. ‘At this rate this wouldn’t even be a proper fight. I have to give it my all, he’s a monster,’ He thought.
For some reason Noah waited for him to move which Mike found as a sign that the fight wasn’t all that threatening to him.
Anger burned in his mind at that sight. Taking a deep breath, Mike felt his muscles bulge, as he prepared to launch most powerful non-magic attack, whichs effect on the body was something on par with a spell on the peak of tier two, and that Noah wouldn’t expect.
Clasping both his palms, Mike focused his entire mind on the still stationary Noah, who had a look of slight curiosity.
Lunging forward with both his palms still clasped, Mike watched as ripples spread through the air, the incredible power the technique carried causing that event.
Noah watched Mike complete his attack. His instincts screamed at him to move, but he had been an instant late in reacting, and had promised to use only his body’s power in the fight. Due to those conditions Noah could only watch in slow motion, the attack spread past him, but couldn’t dodge.
The attack only managed to make Noah slide a few meters, but when its effects were done, Noah felt shocked to sense the Incredible weakness that his body experienced.
Still trying to figure out what had just happened, while also cursing himself for underestimating the young man, Noah heard Mike’s voice.
“Now that I have brought your full power down a considerable level. let’s have a proper fight,” Mike smiled straightening his position, and spitting the blood that had accumulated in his throat.
