Chapter 373: 373. SURPRISES
Noah unfolded his aura as the beast’s; except the higher stage one, dashed towards him with roars escaping their teethed jaws.
His figure remained calm as he took light steps forward. His eyes darted between the multiple middle-staged beasts as he mapped out his movements.
The fastest one, a deer arrived at a range Noah considered close enough, then his figure vanished from his spot.
His rapid steps caused dust to rise, and his blurry outline moved in a zig-zagged fashion, his agility and speed coming to play in that rapid attack.
Noah’s figure appeared behind the first five beasts, but he moved forwards towards the bears and apes before him, not bothering to watch the five beasts he had left behind fall apart, having been severed in half.
Noah arrived before the big bear before him and jumped to deliver a shattering kick to its beastly jaw.
With a deep groan, the bear found its bulky mass flip backward, before landing on the ground with a heavy thud. Blood flowed out of its lower mouth. Noah had turned that body part into mushy flesh and its suffered intense pain as a result.
The event had occurred so quickly that the other seven beasts could barely react before his figure arrived in front of them.
Noah beheaded three apes and drained the life force of the remaining two bears with his daggers before finishing off the injured bear.
Two apes remained and they looked terrified at his figure, but before they could do much, the higher-stage bear that had only been spectating raised its mouth to voice a ground-shaking roar.
Its roar wasn’t one of dominance since the red flower beside it suddenly blazed in intensity, bathing its surrounding for many hundreds of meters with its radiance.
Noah felt an aggression-inducing force try to take control of him at that point, but his mental defenses acted at that point and fended off the strange feeling, and soon Noah could think clearly.
He felt stunned about the event, needless to say, but what brought him even more astonishment was the fact that the eyes of the apes now shone with a deep crimson light.
Their auras had gotten wilder, and they suddenly felt stronger to Noah’s senses, enough for him to understand that he would need to get a bit serious to exterminate them.
An ear-rupturing roar reached his ears, pulling his attention to an even greater threat. Noah’s gaze landed on the higher-stage bear and watched it begin to convulse aggressively. Blood never stopped pouring out of its mouth during that event.
The air suddenly felt heavier and the danger seemed to parade the area. The metallic scent of blood swept past Noah’s nostrils and made him recoil in repulsion.
The sound of bones cracking and shifting reached his ears, followed by the groans of agony the higher-stage bear experienced. Whatever process it was undergoing seemed like it would take a while, but the apes before Noah shot towards him before he could attack their leader.
‘Increased speed,’ Noah noted watching as the apes dashed forwards with speeds they shouldn’t have been capable of achieving.
Taking multiple steps to his side, Noah dodged the downward smash one of the apes executed and watched the ground beneath its joined fists give way like shattering glass.
‘Increased strength,” Noah noted dodging the punch the second ape performed toward his figure. His left arm grabbed hold of its arm, and in the next instant, Noah curled himself around the beast’s arm before proceeding to twist it unnaturally, sending blood flying everywhere.
Rather than a cry of pain, the ape tried to punch at him, but he let go of its limb and jumped off its figure.
Noah watched its arm twist to its normal position and the wounds it had sustained healed at a rate visible to the naked eye.
‘Increased healing,’ Noah exclaimed inwardly vanishing from his position and reaching a distant spot from both beasts.
He was still faster than them, but that event had gained the entirety of his focus. The light seemed to have sent them into a frenzied state, buffing up all aspects of their power apart from defense since he could still injure them easily, only that they healed just as quickly.
[Wind ape{Empowered}]
{Tier: 3{Middle}]
[Affinity: Wind{Currently unavailable}]
[Level of danger: Unknown]
The panel held the basic information he expected, but the affinity portion felt surprising. He had never seen such a state before.
‘What does it mean?’ Noah asked the system while dodging the strikes of the apes, they had gained power but lost their ability to adapt, so their attacks soon became predictable.
[[They are unable to utilize their affinities as it is beyond their reach in their empowered state]]
‘No wonder,’ Noah replied noticing how they had done nothing to him with their affinity.
His daggers flashed at some point as he executed the first form at point-blank before one of the apes, cleanly shaving off its torso.
But the most unimanginable thing occurred at that point.
Noah watched with the deepest shock he had ever felt; the ape begin to regrow its upper body.
The process would take a while, but it was happening anyway.
Noah took out the second ape with the first form, but the same thing began to happen, as the red light in the area began to get deeper and deeper.
The blood that flowed out of the apes normally fatal wounds disappeared strangely, leaving him fundamentally confused.
Ice spread from beneath his feet at that point and directly turned the area for hundreds of meters, into an icy spectacle.
It didn’t matter that the trees were tall, the entirety of their figures turned into solid ice, the same went for the regrowing bodies of the apes.
Noah smashed them by stepping them with his boots, and two orange cores floated towards him and he stored them.
“I have to eradicate them completely,” Noah concluded focusing on the bear in the distance.
“Its getting stronger exponentially,” Noah muttered opening his mouth to take in air.
His slow but warm exhale was visible in that cold environment.
Deep yellow strands of electricity began to appear around his figure and he shot forward a second later. He didn’t want the bear to stabilize its condition since it would be difficult to kill it.
However, that forest still had surprises in stall for him since merely a meter from reaching the bear, Noah saw crimson red vines traveling faster than his figure, erupt out of the ground to wrap themselves around him,
Pain reached his mind the next moment and Noah felt his blood literally begin to get sucked out of his figure. Then it dawned on him.
