UNLIMITED SPEED – Chapter 378

378 TOWER

Chapter 378: 378. TOWER

“What are we going to do to you,” Noah muttered lazily, sitting on the bear’s head without so much as a flinch. It was clear how exhausted the beast was. It’s breathing although normally like a flaming dump truck of diseased rats, had gotten rougher.

It couldn’t lift its head or any of its lips, so Noah could sit on its head without much effort.

“You made me realize something today,” Noah stared at the sky, talking to the bear; ignoring its hostility.

“So I won’t kill you just yet. Maybe when I’m done with the dungeon dive.”

Getting off the beast before kicking it in the face, and barely moving it, Noah wondered what he could do to mark the beast.

Unfortunately, he had nothing that could exclusively do that, so he would need to depend on his memory. The only issue was the many other beasts that could potentially look like it.

But he also depended on it to remember his face when next they met.

“So it’s settled then!” Noah suddenly exclaimed. “When next we meet you have to tell me that it’s you. But even if you don’t, I’ll just wipe out all the higher-stage bears I find,” he shrugged.

“Take care of yourself bastard. Don’t die before I return,” he waved while sparks began to crackle around his figure. The bear grunted at his leaving figure but it couldn’t move.

Noah’s eyes soon began to glow a yellow shade, and he eventually took a step forward transforming into a silently moving streak that quickly left the bounds of the forest.

The sun was beginning to set, meaning he had spent a while there already, but considering the fact that he had spent more than an hour about two to reach the center of the forest with the tunnel of blood, it didn’t surprise him.

Noah reached the valley at some point. It didn’t feature a river, allowing him move freely across its lands.

He had to cross the valley for his next destination. And it stood very far from the forest of equanimity.

Noah continued to run until the valley ended and he could run in the desired direction. His moving speed allowed him blaze through tens of miles in mere seconds.

Noah didn’t bother trying to take in the changing scenery, nothing mattered apart from his destination. A piece of land situated in a strange place. It was also small.

The island stood on a large pool of water surrounded by a massive plain. Even that simple detail baffled Noah since apparently there were no signs of water for many miles.

Noah had to run for mere minutes because he wasn’t at his peak, but when he arrived at his destination he couldn’t help but fall into more wonder.

The backstory of that place apparently was not known. It had always been like that ever since people could remember. And it was as beautiful as the description.

Merely arriving at the beginning of the plain and moving a bit further into it, was all Noah needed to understand what lay before him.

The sheer greenness of the low grass surrounding him felt able to melt his eyes. That was how breathtaking they were. Clear lowlands spread as far as the eyes could see and the winds ran freely in those miles of pure land. He could barely see any trees even if they existed.

Unmissable after a bit more running, was the said island. It was situated at a random spot in the plain, but to his surprise, there was a singular structure on it.

A black tower so tall Noah could see it from his position.

Curiosity hit him like a ton of bricks and he found himself transforming into a deep yellow streak that moved across the lowlands to arrive at an area close to the tower.

At this point the sparkling nature of the massive pool of water became evident. But Noah had already seen many of such before so he didn’t bother too much.

The island was a bit big, merely about 5 sq-miles. It featured trees, however, but they were very scanty.

The pool on the other hand was quite big. About 15 sq-miles. He would call it a pond since it had land around it.

“Do I have to run to get there,” Noah wondered sweeping his gaze on the relaxing view all around him. The sun was about to set creating an orange spectacle that shone on the entire plain.

He couldn’t help but stare at the clear blue sky tainted with a bit of orange and take in the relaxing sensation that permeated his surrounding.

‘I’ll wait for night-time,’ Noah concluded following his instincts. ‘Even if I might have been noticed. It’s pretty hard to miss a moving streak after all.’

Noah basically created camp around that area, even if there wasn’t anything to cover him. He built a fire, however. At this point, he didn’t care that he could have been noticed. Whoever was or were in that tower had not attacked him yet.

Nevertheless, he was vigilant as always. He didn’t know who that structure belonged to and they could be dangerous.

Sitting before his campfire Noah started at the sky gazing at the myriads of stars that it featured.

The sky remained really clear there and very soon he fell into his sea of memories. He had stopped regretting the events that occurred on Earth, he didn’t even feel attached anymore, but he felt curious about the possibility of crossing planets.

There had not been any such topics since he arrived in Cregar. But he believed it was possible since even the powerless humans that had been on Earth had built vehicles that allowed them to traverse space.

How much more a planet that had the power of mana in its hands? Indeed there had to have been experiments to do such.

Now that he thought about it, he had never seen any spectacular-looking transportation device even if there was teleportation.

The world had advanced in many things but their ways weren’t exactly modern he knew, and he could only wonder if it would ever be modern.

Noah’s thoughts were cut short by the sudden flash of a blue light coming from the grand tower. He was immediately alerted. Soon, a figure slowly began to descend from the tall structure. Their direction was his position.

From that signature ability that only beings that had crossed tier 3 could utilize, Noah immediately knew that whoever that person was, they were not a direct match for him.
