Chapter 387: 387. THE HUNTED MAZE
[Dungeon creation completed]
[The Hunted Maze]
These two panels appeared before Noah immediately after he reopened his eyes from his sleep. It was morning already. He had expected this outcome according to the countdown, but his excitement peaked anyway.
Quickly getting off the bed, Noah paced, unsure of his next move. Sure he could just start the dungeon dive immediately, but he wasn’t alone.
‘I have to inform her of my departure,’ Noah thought at some point, he recalled the other day’s events and couldn’t help but admit that he had enjoyed them.
She had taken him on a long tour around the tour which had lasted hours. After that, they had taken a bath. Noah still marveled at the sheer size of her hot bath. It would be a proper pond of boiling water.
During that period he was also enlightened on the fact that tier 5 beings didn’t exactly care about their nakedness. Still, Riveta had been decent. Even if she had taken every chance to tease Noah.
Noah felt embarrassed merely recalling the event.
‘It was fun, but it can’t last long. Maybe I can return sometimes,’ he said to himself, exiting the room in search of the master of that place.
Noah eventually found her on the twentieth floor performing the same weird experiment she had been doing the other day.
“I see it’s time for you to leave,” her words reached him before he could speak.
Noah stood outside of the circle, and his face expressed his surprise at the situation, but he soon let it go and limited himself to nod.
“Well you don’t have to be so worried about telling me, I won’t try to kill you or anything,” she turned to face him, a knowing smile on her face.
“I never said I was worried,” Noah countered.
“I saw your expression immediately after you left your room. It was all nervous,” she teased floating towards him.
“Do you spy on me at night?” Noah acted dramatic. She kinda reminded him of elder Sarah, except less violent. There was an attribute that made them interact easily.
“What are you gonna do if you find out that I actually do. Kill me?” She reveled a grin, and Noah snorted in return.
“When I reach your level, I’ll make sure to prove my dominance,” he rolled his eyes. Both of them fell into laughter at that point, after which a silence fell on them.
“I’ll visit you some time later. Your tower is better than the crowded state of my guild,” Noah admitted, shrugging.
“I’ll be expecting you then. That is if I don’t require moving out of here,” she explained.
“Yeah, hopefully no one tries to kill you,” Noah spoke turning to face the exit of that room.
“I’ll get going then,” he announced after another moment of silence.
“Let me help,” Riveta spoke allowing Noah suddenly disappear from the room.
Noah opened his eyes outside of the tower, and its tall structure stood before him.
“Don’t die out there, young man Aiden,” Riveta’s voice boomed outside of the tower through the tower.
The event felt astonishing, but he soon got over that feeling. Performing a proper bow in front of the tower, Noah heard a chuckle seep out of the tower’s structure, and everything fell silent.
Turning to face a random direction, Noah faced the region he had run from, and shot towards that place.
His figure turned into a deep yellow streak that crossed miles in mere seconds. He had reached the level where he could hide under a technique as the reason for his speed, but he also did it because understood that he couldn’t hide in front of such power individuals, and that reality seemed to relive him of the weight of his secrets.
[Do you wish to begin dungeon dive]
[Yes/No]
Noah opened that panel while still running, and when he chose yes, he felt his environment slow down, and it wasn’t because of his movement since his rapid figure appeared slow to himself.
In the blink of an eyes, a series of purple-green magical circles unfolded beneath his still moving figure and Noah felt the world around him stretch as his figure vanished from the plain cutting the streak short.
Opening his eyes in a blank white cylindrical environment, Noah quickly came to a halt, before inspecting everything around him.
But there was nothing to begin with so he focused on the major thing. He still experienced that feeling of being alienated, but also a sense of belonging within that environment. It felt mind bending that both sensations never overwhelmed the other.
{Briefing of the dungeon will begin}
A purple-green panel; how that was even possible, appeared before his eyes, and in the next instant another panel containing information unfolded before him.
{The Hunted Maze}
{Grade: B}
{Difficulty: Very high}
{Floors: 5}
{Bosses: 4{mini-bosses} 1{Main-boss}
{Rewards for completion: ??? ??? ???}
A flash of blue light followed the appearance of the panel, and Noah felt a stream of information flow into his mind.
He gained understanding of how the dungeon would work, at least only a bit. He understood that there were still surprises in the real thing so he didn’t base too much on the stream of information he received.
Nevertheless, the rules were different in this one, and it was mostly the time difference. Apparently every five hours was equivalent to two hours on the outside world.
He wondered why he would even need that much time, but from the name of the dungeon, he had ideas. But he figured he would just run around.
“I’m ready,” Noah spoke after drinking a potion to refill his core, and soon enough a mechanical swirling sound filled his environment until it was deafening.
The sound reached a peak of sorts, and a series of high-level blue magical circles expanded above and beneath his figure, after which they wrapped his body in a soft light of teleportation.
Noah opened his eyes in a completely dark environment. At least that environment would be completely black if not for the green light that stood before him.
Shockingly he had solid, but smooth ground beneath him, but it was also pitch black.
Noah walked towards the gate standing in that dark environment illuminating it with its light.
Placing his palm on the door since no particular shape was left for his hand, he felt essence directly leave his core to enter the door, after which it began to thrum.
The green gate featuring many vines began to open gradually, and Noah soon got able to step into the swirling white and green light before him.
Stepping through it confirmed that it was a portal, and soon he opened his eyes before a smooth wide path surrounded by huge green walls.
{Access to soul bond items has been temporarily restricted}
{Your speed has been disabled}
“That’s the first,” Noah muttered in surprise as he felt an ability he had always been capable of utilizing stray away from his being.
