With his illusion spell covering him, Lin Fan was able to make it past the lines of demonic cultivators without being spotted by them.
Though there were a few positions where he was worried that something might have happened since there were more demonic cultivators than he expected. At the same time, there were far more demonic cultivators with higher levels of cultivation than he thought.
He certainly didn’t expect all those different Golden Core Realm demonic cultivators to just be lurking around like that.
It seemed that the demonic sects had sent quite a few of their experts here for whatever they were planning to do.
That was also why Lin Fan had gathered all of those elders from the Love Sect here just in case. He had brought along all of the Golden Core Realm elders except for one who was staying at the Love Sect headquarters in Dungeon City.
They would be more than enough to take down the Golden Core Realm demonic cultivators.
After all, they had also become much stronger after studying the foundational techniques in the library. With their current strength, it wasn’t hard at all for them to take down another cultivator who was in the Golden Core Realm.
So there was no need for him to worry about them facing the Golden Core Realm demonic cultivators.
There was also the Nascent Soul Realm Cultivator from the Mu Empire that would be watching over all of this. If there really was trouble, then the Nascent Soul Realm Cultivator would make his move.
It was just that there shouldn’t be any problem especially since they had even deployed decoys to distract the demonic cultivators, which would just make them easier to face.
With his illusion spell, Lin Fan made it all the way to the gathering that had been set up previously.
Only the moment that he entered this place.
“What is going on? Why are there so many cultivators from the righteous sects suddenly showing up in this Dragon Beard Valley? When did our plans get exposed?”
“I don’t know.”
That was the argument that was coming from the center of this clearing where the ceremony had been set up.
At the very front of the clearing, there was a large statue that was placed there.
This statue was just like the one that Lin Fan had seen previously, only it was much bigger than the one from before. This was still a statue of a demon, but it was so tall that it was more than five times taller than him.
The demon was still Beelzebub, the Lord of Flies.
Though he did look much more terrifying as a larger statue than as a smaller statue.
At the same time, there were things that were arranged in front of this statue that made it very clear what was happening. Though seeing these things didn’t really surprise Lin Fan since he had already expected them to do something like this.
With what he saw last time, it was only natural that they would do something like this.
That was why he wasn’t surprised at all to see these crucifixes and these daggers.
They were clearly planning to sacrifice something to the demon that this statue represented.
As for what would be sacrificed, Lin Fan had a very good idea.
The only good thing was that it didn’t seem like the sacrifice ceremony had started yet. There was nothing hanging from the crucifixes and it didn’t even seem like there was anything that had stained the daggers yet.
There wasn’t even the scent of blood in the air, which was a scent that Lin Fan had gotten used to after all his events in this cultivation world.
So that meant that at the very least, the girls seemed to be safe.
Though it was certainly hard to tell what kind of condition they were in right now…
After arguing for a bit, the ones that were gathered in front of the statue finally stopped arguing with each other. They had been blaming each other for their plans being exposed to the Mu Empire and the sects, which had resulted in their current position.
However, they did eventually realize that there was nothing to gain from arguing with each other like this.
So instead of arguing, it was better for them to spend their energy on finding a solution to their current situation. Instead of arguing, it was better to discuss how to take care of their attackers.
“The ceremony can’t be held, can it?” One of them suddenly asked the others.
When they heard this, they all had grim looks on their faces.
It was clear that this was something that was hard for them to accept, but at the same time…they didn’t seem to be fools. The looks on their faces made it clear that they recognized that they were in danger and that it certainly wasn’t the time to be hosting this ceremony.
It was just that they had spent quite a long time on preparing for this ceremony that giving up on it was just too hard for them to accept.
They really wanted to see if they could find a way to still hold the ceremony.
“If they can hold them off long enough, don’t you think that we can summon the lord and gain enough power to push them back?” One of the leaders suddenly asked this.
There were six of them that were speaking, which added up to the number of demonic sects that were here. All six of them must be the sect leaders of the six demonic sects that were in charge of this gathering.
The other five looked hesitant, but it didn’t seem like they were against this idea.
They slowly looked at the statue that was at the center of the clearing and it seemed like they were considering this idea.
But before they could come to a decision, there was a demonic cultivator that suddenly ran in to say, “They’re breaking through our lines!”
All six of them immediately narrowed their eyes to look at this demonic cultivator, but he wasn’t the only one that had run in.
There were several other demonic cultivators that ran in and said the exact same thing as the first one.
It seemed that it wasn’t just in a single place there were breakthroughs, it seemed that there were many different places where they were being pushed.
When Lin Fan heard what they said, there was a faint smile that appeared on his face.
That was all because he knew exactly what it was that had caused these breakthroughs. He had left instructions with the disciples and elders of the Love Sect to cause as much trouble as they could, while using the other sects as bait.
This was the time that this came to play as there were now several holes in the lines of the demonic cultivators. After using the experts from the various sects to wear down the demonic cultivators, they had been able to break through in a single push.
They were the fishermen who had been waiting the entire time and swooped in after the demonic cultivators exhausted themselves.
Though there were doubts in the hearts of the cultivators from the sects, they weren’t able to say anything since they were the ones that were being saved. If they said anything, then there was the chance that they might be abandoned.
With the Love Sect disciples causing all this trouble, there was nothing that the leaders of the demonic sect could do.
“We’re heading out and pushing them back. We can’t let them surround us or we’ll all be trapped.” The demonic sect leaders all agreed on this.
Whether it was to hold this ceremony or to escape if necessary, they couldn’t allow themselves to be surrounded by the enemies at all.
So they could only send their true forces out to stop the enemies.
The ones that had been watching the lines before this were just weaker Golden Core Realm Cultivators. The ones that were truly powerful were the ones that were here holding the ceremony.
After all, this ceremony was for increasing their strength, so of course the strongest ones remained here to take part in the ceremony.
As soon as they came to a decision, the sect leaders didn’t hesitate at all as they gathered a few experts with them and headed out of this clearing. They all headed off without a single worry for the statue that was here.
They just couldn’t imagine anyone making their way here after all.
And if there was someone that made their way here, it would all be over since they would be able to damage the statue.
The statue of their lord was the most important thing, the one thing that couldn’t be damaged no matter what or else this would all be worthless. So they had to make sure that this statue was safe no matter what happened.
Once they were all gone, Lin Fan turned his gaze in a certain direction.
This was the path that led to the cave where the girls had been held previously and this was where he was planning to go.
The second main reason he had the Love Sect disciples create those distractions was to pull everyone away just so he could save these girls and get them to safety.
So now that the demonic sect’s experts were leaving, it was his chance to get those girls out.
Lin Fan didn’t waste any time heading to that cave from before.
He just hoped that the girls were still alive.
