The middle aged man didn’t say anything at first as if he wasn’t about to answer this question, but there was something that happened as he stood there.
There was this blood mist that appeared in the area around them.
Before this blood mist appeared, Lin Fan had no idea that it was even there.
But after it became thicker and thicker, Lin Fan suddenly had an idea of what had happened.
This blood miss most likely had been in the area around them the entire time, it was just that he didn’t notice it at all. It was only when the middle aged man made it thicker that he was able to notice it.
With the blood mist in the air, Lin Fan could guess what the middle aged man used to detect him.
The blood mist must be some kind of special sensor that allowed the middle aged man to sense him even though Lin Fan had been using the illusion spell. He didn’t know what the blood mist showed the middle aged man, but it was a fact that he was able to find him.
Though why the middle aged man had the blood mist up in the first place was also a problem.
After all, no one would keep something like this up unless they had an idea of what they were looking for. So he must have known that he was here somehow or he wouldn’t have released this blood mist in the first place.
That was why Lin Fan was still cautiously looking at the middle aged man without saying a thing.
As if he could guess what Lin Fan was thinking, the ugly middle aged man revealed another ugly smile and said, “You killed my blood puppets, do you really think that I wouldn’t notice?”
Blood puppets?
Lin Fan was surprised to hear this , but then he realized what the ugly middle aged man was referring to. The guards that he killed, those were most likely the blood puppets that he was referring to.
It seemed that the demonic sects really were quite demonic in the way that they treated their own people.
This sect leader even treated his own people as nothing more than puppets.
That was right, this was one of the sect masters from before that Lin Fan had seen in front of the statue.
That meant that this person should be one of the strongest experts from the demonic sects.
It would not be an easy battle for him.
Seeing that confusion disappear from Lin Fan’s face, the ugly middle aged man just asked with another ugly smile, “So, how did you sneak in here? I’ve already told you so much, you can at least tell me this, right?”
Lin Fan narrowed his eyes to look at the middle aged man before slowly giving a nod and saying, “I have a special ability that allows me to put up illusions that will allow others to avoid noticing me.”
The ugly middle aged man raised a brow as he said, “Oh, that’s quite interesting. I’ve certainly never heard of this kind of ability before.”
The way that he said this was almost as if he was having a friendly conversation with someone. Only in this situation, it didn’t seem like the two of them should be having a friendly conversation.
The only reason that this was happening was because both of them were actually stalling for time.
Both of them were aware of each other and were just buying time to set up their cards.
That was what created this awkward situation.
In the end, it was the ugly middle aged man who broke the peace by suddenly saying with an ugly smile, “Well, it’s a good thing that I’ll turn you into a blood puppet as well. When the time comes, your special ability will become mine.”
Right after he said this, there were blood red hands that suddenly came out of the ground.
These blood red hands seemed to be grabbing at Lin Fan with the way that they came out of the ground. It was as if they wanted to grab him and drag him down into the earth with them.
This was what the ugly middle aged man had been preparing the entire time.
It was just that Lin Fan had already expected him to do something like this, so there was a barrier of Clear Water that suddenly appeared around him. This barrier of Clear Water immediately stopped all the hands that were reaching out towards him.
With the slight spin to it, it even ripped off parts of the blood red hands that were grabbing at Lin Fan.
The parts of the blood red hand that were ripped off were grounded up by the spin of the Clear Water barrier before disappearing without a trace. It didn’t cause any pollution to the Clear Water at all, it was almost as if it was completely purified by the Clear Water.
The ugly middle aged man’s face twisted when he saw this as he couldn’t understand what had happened. It was just that he didn’t have the time to think about these kinds of things since there was something else coming his way.
Lin Fan had only used the Clear Water barrier to block the attack, but that didn’t mean that he was idle during this time.
He simply raised a fist and looked like he was about to punch out.
The ugly middle aged man’s face relaxed a bit when he saw that Lin Fan was just going to use a single punch. He raised his hands and condensed two blood spears of his own before saying, “You think that you can beat me with a punch? You’re dreaming.”
Then without hesitation, he stabbed out with these two blood spears.
The two blood spears were formed from the essence blood of dragons. These were special weapons that he saved for when he was in danger, but he recognized that this was the time for that.
After all, there was this sense of danger that was coming from Lin Fan that pressured him.
He didn’t know why he was feeling this kind of danger from someone like Lin Fan who didn’t seem like he would pose any danger at all, but the middle aged man trusted his instincts.
It was these instincts that had kept him alive all this time after all, so he would have faith in these instincts.
The spears made from dragon blood had a special attribute to it that would allow it to pierce through everything. That was the natural power that dragons had in their bloodline and the demonic cultivator could draw on that by using the blood of the dragons in his spears.
He had absolute confidence that his blood spears would tear through the fist of this person in front of him, but he never expected…
“Die.” Lin Fan said in a calm voice before stepping forward and punching towards the middle aged man.
That single step pushed him right towards the middle aged man who stabbed his spears at him. Only the moment that the blood spears made contact with Lin Fan’s fist…
It was as if there was some kind of distortion in the air in front of Lin Fan’s fist that ripped apart the blood spears. The blood spears were torn apart and then bits of that hardened blood fell to the ground, making no contact with Lin Fan.
The rest of the blood spears seemed to crumble apart, as they couldn’t stop Lin Fan’s fist from approaching the middle aged man at all.
The middle aged man’s eyes opened wide in shock, but he still congealed blood in front of him to form a layer of armour against Lin Fan’s fist. It was just that this wasn’t any use at all in front of the strange distortion that was created by Lin Fan’s fist.
That strange distortion ripped the blood armour apart and slammed right into the middle aged man’s chest.
“This, this…What is this!?” The middle aged man said in a shocked voice before suddenly spitting out blood.
After Lin Fan’s fist made contact, it carried the middle aged man off the ground and sent him flying until he slammed into a wall behind him. There was a large crater that was formed in the wall from the impact that he made and he was stuck in the wall for a bit before crumpling down to the ground.
He fell face first and didn’t get up at all.
If one could see his chest, they would see that there was this strange twisting pattern that was on it. It wasn’t a swirling pattern, but rather a strange pattern that didn’t seem to have any rhyme or rhythm.
It was a pattern that was completely chaotic, as if the swirls went in all directions.
Lin Fan couldn’t help looking down at his fist after seeing the middle aged man being sent flying like this.
He had only wanted to test the power of his physique against someone, but he never expected this to be the result. After all, this wasn’t even the full power of his physique yet since he didn’t dare use the full power of his physique.
“This is my strength.” Lin Fan muttered to himself in an almost stunned voice.
But he quickly recovered since he knew that this wasn’t the time to be dazed.
He didn’t think too much about it as he went forward to the middle aged man.
With a cold look in his eyes, he raised his hand before bringing it down on the middle aged man’s neck.
