All of them were begging the demon of the statue to help them, but there was no response from the statue.
While the demonic cultivators were begging for help, Lin Fan didn’t miss his chance to attack them.
But then the demon’s voice suddenly rang out, “Strange, you have a very strange physique that grants you a very strange power. I never thought that I would be able to see someone wielding the powers of chaos like this.”
Lin Fan couldn’t help stopping when he heard this.
“Chaos?” Lin Fan repeated in a confused voice since he had never heard this term before.
As far as he knew, his physique was known as the Five Elemental True Body.
It didn’t have anything to do with the chaos that the demon mentioned.
But the demon wouldn’t say this randomly if there wasn’t anything to base this on…
Or at least that was what Lin Fan thought.
So did that mean that his physique did have something to do with the chaos that the demon mentioned?
When in doubt, there was one thing that he could do.
There was a cheat in this world that would allow him to gain all the information that he needed, but it was a cheat that needed to be prompted to activate. Otherwise, this cheat wouldn’t do anything on his own, or that was what he had found from his experience.
So he asked in his mind, “What is that demon talking about?”
The system didn’t respond at first, but then it said, “Please check the updated status.”
As soon as Lin Fan heard this, he opened up the status screen as the system suggested.
The one thing that he noticed had changed was the physique line.
It once said Physique: Five Elemental True Body and now it said Physique: Five Elemental True Body (Chaos Element).
It was just a single change, but it was quite the substantial change.
After all, even someone like Lin Fan who didn’t know much could tell that this chaos element must be quite special if it was able to make a demon of this level surprised.
So the fact that his physique now had it meant that there was something special about this physique.
Perhaps no one in the world had ever completed the Five Elemental True Body before, so they didn’t know that completing it would result in this change. But the facts were there and now he had this special physique.
Still, there was something else that Lin Fan had to ask.
“What is special about this chaos element?”
The system didn’t say anything this time, it didn’t make a single sound to even acknowledge that it had heard my question.
It seemed that this was a question that the system wouldn’t answer.
That meant that this must be some kind of special element if the system wouldn’t even answer this question.
Even if the system wouldn’t answer, there was someone that would…
“It’s been a long time since anyone has been able to grasp chaos energy like this. It seems like you’re quite talented and special to be able to do something like this.” The voice from the statue was still speaking.
The way that it said this, it seemed like it was showing interest in Lin Fan because of this chaos element that he possessed.
As expected…
“Kid, worship me as a demonic cultivator and follow me in the future. As long as you follow me, I’ll bring you to the peak of the world.”
The demonic cultivators were all shocked when they heard this and it looked like they wanted to complain about this, but a single snort from the demon of the statue was enough to suppress all of them.
The word of the demon was final since it was the one that was in charge of this place.
The demonic cultivators had turned to it for help in the first place since they weren’t able to deal with Lin Fan. So if the demon wasn’t willing to help, then all that was waiting for them was death.
But at the same time…
They really didn’t want Lin Fan to follow the demon since they knew that he would immediately be valued by the demon more than them. They had put in all that effort to connect with this demon and curry favour with him, but now it was being taken by someone else.
It was like when someone took your wife!
That was why they didn’t want Lin Fan to accept this offer.
It made them feel very conflicted.
In the end, Lin Fan just calmly asked, “What is so special about this chaos element that you’d want me as your follower?”
“Ha, ha, ha.” The demon gave a chuckle before saying, “You’re already asking for things before even accepting to become my follower? It seems like you’re quite the greedy one.”
Lin Fan slightly knitted his brows, but the demon continued speaking.
“Consider it as a bit of a gift then since this information isn’t that valuable in the first place.”
In a more serious voice, the demon said, “Chaos energy is the very fundamental energy of this universe. It is the energy that everything in this world came from, which means that it is the basis of all that exists. Those that control chaos energy can fundamentally change the basic laws of this world since it’s what those basic laws come from.”
The way that the demon said this made the chaos energy sound very impressive, but Lin Fan knew that this was just posturing.
The demon was only making the chaos energy seem more impressive than it should actually be to fool him into thinking that he should follow the demon.
Lin Fan wasn’t fooled at all by this.
He knew that the chaos energy that the demon was referring to was only chaos energy that was trained to a peak. Only when one reached this peak would they be able to do the things that the demon mentioned.
So it was just trying to use these sweet words to convince Lin Fan to fall under him.
Lin Fan didn’t seem convinced at all as he calmly said, “Is that all that there is to it? It doesn’t seem that special.”
“Ha, ha, ha, you’re quite the interesting one, aren’t you? Alright, that’s all you’ll get for free. If you want more information, then you’ll need to become my follower.” There was an almost enticing tone that was to his voice as he said this.
Even the demonic cultivators that weren’t a part of this couldn’t help feeling enticed after hearing this.
They started speaking up for the demon.
“The lord is truly magnanimous to give you this chance.”
“Why aren’t you thanking the lord and accepting his offer?”
“If you miss this chance, you’ll never get one like this.”
Lin Fan just ignored all of them as he calmly looked at the demon statue.
Then all of a sudden, he raised both his hands and punched out.
The two targets that he was aiming for were the two sect masters that were left.
Both of them had been caught off guard since they had been affected by the enticing words of the demon. They had been so into trying to convince Lin Fan to accept the demon’s offer that they didn’t notice Lin Fan suddenly attacking them like this.
They rushed to raise their weapons to block this attack, but it wasn’t able to stop the attack in the end.
The weapons that they pulled up shattered and the strange distortions hit them right in the chest. There were cut marks that soon appeared on their chests that were similar to the ones that the other sect master received.
They weren’t able to stand anymore after receiving this attack.
They fell back with their eyes wide open in disbelief as if they couldn’t believe that this was how they died.
The elders were all shocked, but they quickly moved away from Lin Fan and raised their guards just in case there was another attack. Only, Lin Fan didn’t seem interested in the elders at all.
Instead, it seemed that his attention was on the statue of the demon.
With the way that he looked at the statue, it almost seemed like…
The elders realized what he was planning to do and they all wanted to stop him, but they also hesitated to get in his way since they had seen how powerful Lin Fan’s attacks were.
That was the opportunity that Lin Fan needed to attack his target.
“Don’t!” All of the elders shouted, but that didn’t stop Lin Fan from attacking the statue.
He punched out with both of his fists, but it wasn’t just the power of his physique this time.
This time, he gathered a bit of all five different elements that were inside of him into a single point and punched out together.
This was the full power of his Five Elemental True Body, uniting the power of all five elements in a single attack.
But that didn’t work in the end.
The flies that had been around the statue suddenly came together to form a wall in front of Lin Fan.
It didn’t seem like a wall that would be able to stop Lin Fan’s attack, but it was able to stop his attack in the end. It seemed like there was some kind of energy that was in this wall of flies that blocked the attack in the end.
“Ha, ha, ha.” The demon suddenly started laughing before saying, “I guess negotiations have broken down. It seems like I can only do this now.”
