Everyone took a cold breath the moment that they heard this.
Though they had been expecting to hear something like this,

There was a bitter smile that appeared on Lin Fan’s face since he never expected to hear that he was being used as a deterrent like this.
Though there was a small part of him that was also happy about this since it meant that he was finally able to help them like he wanted.
Still, Lin Fan asked, “Why me?”
Yue Lan gave a sigh before saying, “We were planning on using the experts from the Heavenly Demon Sect still, but with all that’s happened, it’s hard to use them.”
Her eyes suddenly narrowed as she looked at Lin Fan to ask, “When did you gain all of this power?”
The other girls also looked at Lin Fan with narrowed eyes when they heard this.
After all, not a single one of them had known that Lin Fan had become this powerful.
Even if they knew that he had reached the Golden Core Realm, the power that he had shown was just too strong to be considered in the Golden Core Realm. The power that he had shown was far beyond what a normal Golden Core Realm Cultivators was capable of.
After all, all of the ones that Lin Fan had killed in the Dragon Beard Valley were those that had also reached the Golden Core Realm, that meant that they shouldn’t be weaker than him. At the same time, they had also completely surrounded him, so he must have fought them completely outnumbered.

Only because he had that connection to the Pet Storage Space that he was able to become this strong.
But the Pet Storage Space was something that came from his system, so he couldn’t tell them about this without explaining what the system was. At the same time, the Pet Storage Space was still a private space that he hadn’t shared with anyone yet.
So he couldn’t just tell them about it.
They could see the look that was on his face, so they knew that this was hard for him.
They knew that Lin Fan had his secrets and no one really wanted to push him since they knew that there were things that people needed to keep secret. At the same time, there were things that needed to be kept secret.
Though it did make them feel a bit hurt because he kept this from them.
They knew that he must have his reasons for doing this.
So instead of pushing him, they instead changed the topic by asking, “What are you planning to do now?”
Lin Fan was grateful that they didn’t keep asking about this, but at the same time, he was confused by this. After all, the way that they asked this made it clear that there was something that they wanted to talk to him about.
It seemed that there was something that they wanted him to do for them.
“What is it?” Lin Fan just said directly.
He didn’t beat around the bush, he directly asked them what the problem was.
To his surprise, it was Tian Tian who spoke.
“We have a mission that we need you to do.”
“Huh?” Lin Fan was completely caught off guard by this since this was not something that he expected to hear.
He turned to look at Yue Lan and Ming Xin, but the way that they looked like they weren’t concerned showed that they weren’t related to this. It seemed that this wasn’t a mission that was related to the Love Sect or Dungeon City.
He also looked at Mu Bao Bao, but it seemed like it didn’t involve the Mu Empire either.
So there was only one thing that it could be.
The Mercenary Guild.
It had been a long time since he had done a mission for the Mercenary Guild since he had been focused on other things. He hadn’t had the time to do any missions even though he was still technically a mercenary.
In fact, he should be considered a S Rank Mercenary now with his level of cultivation, only he never cared about receiving the certification for it.

There were too few SS Ranked Mercenaries and such since there were better places to go compared to the Mercenary Guild once one reached a certain level of cultivation. This was still a world where sects reigned supreme.
Since she was just having him take care of this problem, Lin Fan just took it as a kind of punishment.

So with a nod, Lin Fan said, “Alright, not a problem.”
Tian Tian gave a nod as well before handing him a folder.
The mission was to hunt a Peak Foundation Realm Spirit Beast.

It was Xiao Yue, Lala, Nangong Yi, and Nangong Ming Xue who said this.
He wouldn’t have been as surprised by Xiao Yue and Lala since they were working hard to train and become stronger, but he was certainly surprised by Nangong Yi and Nangong Ming Xue wanting to come along as well.
Then to his further surprise, Tian Tian said, “I’m also coming along.”
