Lin Fan had a strange look on his face as he headed out early the next morning.
Around him were the six girls that came along with him.
It wasn’t just Tian Tian that tagged along, even Tian Xue seemed like she forced her way in. Their group just seemed like it would keep increasing at this rate, but it was a good thing that no one else tagged along.
Or it could be said that no one else had the time to tag along.
It seemed that Yue Lan, Ming Xin, and Mu Bao Bao were just too busy to tag along, though it did seem like they wanted to come as well.
Yue Lan and Ming Xin were just too busy managing Dungeon City and Mu Bao Bao was too busy governing the Mu Empire. That was why they were not able to come along even if they wanted to.
As for Senior Sister Bing, she had actually taken an elder role in the Love Sect since coming back.
She hadn’t really done much at the Love Sect as soon as she came back, but she eventually took on the role of an elder. Once that happened, there was nothing that held her back anymore as she spent more and more time managing the Love Sect.
Right now, she was almost as important to the Love Sect as Senior Brother Ying, who was the great elder. That was just how much she did for the Love Sect that she took as her family.
With this group, Lin Fan made his way out of Dungeon City and to the north where the Foundation Realm Beast for the mission was located.
It wasn’t that near, but it also wasn’t that far away, so they were able to reach the area where it was spotted within two hours.
After arriving in the area, the first thing that happened was…
“Leave this to me.” Xiao Yue said before she started looking around the area as if she was looking for traces of the spirit beast.
The others didn’t seem to mind as they just watched Xiao Yue look around the area.
It was only Lin Fan who was a bit surprised that Xiao Yue would take the initiative like this.
After all, she should have known that Lin Fan would have the ability to easily find the spirit beast. With Greeny’s power, it would take only a few minutes for him to pinpoint where the target was, as well as where most of the Foundation Realm Spirit Beasts in the area were.
But she didn’t do this and seemed to insist on finding it herself.
The others even seemed like they were encouraging her.
Since she was insistent on this, Lin Fan didn’t do anything as he waited for her to find the target.
After searching for half an hour, Xiao Yue led them to a cave that the tracks led to.
According to these tracks, the target should be inside of this cave.
Though Lin Fan had already confirmed this with Greeny’s puppets, he didn’t actually say anything since Xiao Yue seemed quite proud that she had found this cave.
Once they found this cave, Lin Fan was about to go in and take care of the target spirit beast. It was just that Duanmu Yi and Lala stepped forward to say, “Just leave this to us.”
Lin Fan was once again surprised to see them take the initiative like this and he found it hard to say anything against it when he saw them heading into the cave before he could.
All he could do was follow behind them and watch over them.
He wouldn’t do anything if they didn’t need help, but he was ready to make his move the moment that they seemed like they were in trouble.
It was just that they didn’t need any help at all.
Instead, it almost seemed like they made it easy with the way that they took care of the spirit beast.
It turned out that both Lala and Duanmu Yi had become much stronger than before.
Duanmu Yi’s increase in cultivation was the most surprising thing of all since she was someone that hadn’t started cultivating that long ago. She had started cultivating around the same time as Xiao Ming, perhaps a bit sooner than her.
But she shouldn’t have the same kind of achievements as Xiao Ming since Xiao Ming was Lin Fan’s disciple, as well as the head disciple of the Love Sect. It only made sense that she cultivated fast when she received the resources that the Love Sect gave her.
For Duanmu Yi to cultivate this fast just didn’t seem to make any sense at all.
Both of them had reached the Foundation Realm and it wasn’t just the normal Foundation Realm, they had both reached the Peak Foundation Realm and seemed like they were just a step away from breaking through to the Qi Condensing Realm.
Their cultivation speed really was amazing.
Lala was even stronger because of her special body cultivation technique that made her physique stronger than normal cultivators. Her physique had even been stronger than the spirit beast which should have naturally had a physique that was stronger than humans.
It really was shocking seeing the results of their training.
But the funniest thing for Lin Fan was that even though this was technically a mission for him, he hadn’t done a single thing to solve this mission. Instead, it was the girls who had come with him that had taken care of everything.
It really seemed like there was no reason for him to come on this mission at all.
As he was about to propose that they leave, Duanmu Ming Xue suddenly said, “How about we go and hunt a bit more since we’re already here?”
Lin Fan was completely caught off guard since he didn’t think that she was that kind of person, but it didn’t seem like she was going to take back this suggestion. It seemed that none of the girls were going to take back this suggestion as they were already searching for more spirit beasts to fight.
In the end, there were several more Foundation Realm Spirit Beasts that were hunted down by the girls.
Lin Fan didn’t have to do a single thing, all he did was stand there and watch as they attacked the Foundation Realm Spirit Beasts.
He really didn’t know what they were here for…or at least he didn’t know what they were here for at first. After a while, he figured it out since it was hard for him not to figure it out.
The reason that they had called him out like this, the reason that they didn’t let him fight at all, it was all because they wanted to show him the power that they had obtained during this time.
They wanted to show him that they had gained power with their own efforts.
As for why they wanted to show him this…Lin Fan had an idea.
Since he knew why they did this, he of course knew what he should do.
“Good job, everyone.” Lin Fan said in a genuine voice.
He knew that they were afraid that with the rate that he was rising, it seemed like he was getting more and more of reach for him. The reason that they worked so hard to cultivate was all because they wanted to catch up to him, but now…
Lin Fan had already reached the Golden Core Realm while they were still in the Foundation Realm.
Back then, they had been equal to him, but now…his cultivation had exploded all of a sudden and became out of reach for them.
It really seemed like they were going to be left behind at this rate.
Hearing this didn’t really make them feel better, there were faint smiles that appeared on their face, but the trace of bitterness in them was also clear.
Of course, Lin Fan had already expected this when he said that.
He knew that it would be impossible for his words to completely assure them, so the only thing that he could do was split it up. That was why after they revealed this smile, he continued speaking.
“You don’t have to worry about a single thing. I will never leave you behind.”
All of them looked at Lin Fan with surprised looks since they never thought that he would be this direct with them.
At the same time, they couldn’t help feeling a bit embarrassed about being seen through like this.
They couldn’t help turning away from Lin Fan and whispering a few things under their breath that they were too embarrassed to say out loud.
Seeing them act like this made a smile appear on Lin Fan’s face.
But at the same time, he couldn’t help feeling a bit guilty since it was his fault that they felt this way in the first place.
He had been spending all of his time thinking about how he should protect them that he had actually forgotten about the most important thing. He had actually forgotten that he should be spending time with them as well, instead of just going away all the time to think of ways to protect them.
Lin Fan made a promise to himself that he wouldn’t forget this from now on and would remember to spend more time with his women in the future.
He couldn’t just keep letting them feel this way.
He wouldn’t really be a man if he let them feel this way.
