“They’re on their way?” The Ouyang Family Head asked.
The scout that reported this said, “We already see them, they’ll be here soon.”
After a pause, the scout suddenly added, “However, it seems like there are spirit beasts that are approaching this area as well. With the way that they are approaching, it’s only a matter of time before they arrive.”
The Ouyang Family Head narrowed his eyes to look at this scout before suddenly saying, “Are you really afraid of a few spirit beasts? We’re about to finally take down our long time enemy and you’re worried about a few spirit beasts.”
His expression filled with more and more anger as he said this.
The scout slowly backed down when he saw the anger appear on the face of the Ouyang Family Head, but he had no choice but to speak up in the end.
“It’s not just a few spirit beasts.”
The Ouyang Family Head slightly knitted his brows when he heard this before asking, “What do you mean?”
“It’s several packs of spirit beasts. If they come here, we will be surrounded by them.” The scout said in a serious voice.
The Ouyang Family Head knitted his brows a bit when he heard this, but then he asked, “How long will it take for them to arrive?”
The scout was surprised to hear this before falling silent for a bit. After thinking for a bit, he said, “An hour, I think that’s how long it’ll take.”
The Ouyang Family Head said with a nod, “That’s more than enough time. As long as sir envoy leads them to our ambush, we’ll be able to take them down right away. There’s nothing to worry about, we’ll be able to finish them off before the spirit beasts can reach us.”
The scout looked like he still had a bit of doubt, but this time he didn’t dare say anything.
The Ouyang Family Head had already made his decision, so there was nothing that he could say. The only thing that the scout could do was nod in agreement and accept these orders from the family head.
With the order from the Ouyang Family Head, everyone got in their positions and waited for the group to arrive.
The location that they were waiting at was an isolated waterfall that was surrounded by cliffs.
This place was the perfect location for an ambush, but it was also the perfect place to hide for spirit beasts. That was why there was a cave behind the waterfall where spirit beasts lived.
One of these spirit beasts was a rare one that had a special material on its body that was quite valued.
That was what King Han and Lin Fan were after, which was why they were coming to this place.
That was also why the Ouyang Family was able to lay their ambush here.
“He’s coming.” The scout came back to say to the Ouyang Family Head.
“How long on the spirit beasts?” The Ouyang Family Head didn’t wait for the scout to talk about it to bring it up himself.
“Half an hour.” The scout said with a worried look on his face.
But the Ouyang Family Head said with a smile, “That’s more than enough time. Tell everyone to get into place and attack the moment that I give the order.”
Now it was all about receiving the signal.
When King Han’s group walked into the area, the first thing that happened was that the guards suddenly spread out.
It wasn’t that they spread out for no reason, it was after Lin Fan said something to King Han that he gave the order to the guards to spread out.
With the way that they moved around, it was as if they were looking for something.
They were most likely looking for the spirit beasts that they were hunting for.
But the Ouyang Family Head knew what this situation was.
Lin Fan was actually scattering the guards of King Han to give their Ouyang Family an opening to take down King Han. As long as they made use of this opening, they would be able to take him down before anyone could stop him.
However, the Ouyang Family Head still didn’t give the signal yet.
That was because he was waiting for one more thing.
Lin Fan suddenly turned around to face King Han which caught him off guard based on the look that was one King Han’s face. Lin Fan went in closer and even wrapped his arm around King Han’s shoulder to bring him in.
Then all of a sudden, King Han’s expression changed as Lin Fan’s other hand went forward.
“Now!” The Ouyang Family Head gave the order.
As soon as his order was given, all of the experts from the Ouyang Family came out of their hiding spots and jumped down to attack. They ignored the guards that had been completely caught off guard and they all headed for King Han.
They wanted to take him down before anything else could happen.
The Ouyang Family Head was the one that led the charge from the Ouyang Family.
The look in his eyes almost seemed fanatic with the way that he wanted to end this here and now. It was as if there was only one thing in his eyes, which was the life of King Han that he was about to take.
It was just too bad that things didn’t go the way that he wanted.
All of a sudden, the situation changed.
When the Ouyang Family’s experts were about to teach King Han, they found that there was this strange pressure that suddenly fell down on them. It was only once they crossed a certain point that they felt this pressure fall down on them.
This pressure crushed down on them and pinned them into the ground.
When they looked up, they found that it was only them who was being crushed like this.
Standing in the center was Lin Fan and King Han.
The Ouyang Family Head had a shocked look on his face as he said, “What is happening? What is going on here?”
Lin Fan and King Han were still together as if he had stabbed him, but then they suddenly moved apart. When they did, it was revealed that there was nothing in Lin Fan’s hand.
There wasn’t even a single injury that was on King Han.
Everything had been a lie.
The signal that Lin Fan gave was nothing more than a trick that had pulled the Ouyang Family in.
When they saw this, they understood everything.
From the very beginning, Lin Fan never had any intentions of cooperating with them. From the very beginning, Lin Fan had been manipulating them with their greed and drawing them into this trap.
The only thing that the Ouyang Family Head couldn’t understand was why Lin Fan did all of this.
As far as he could tell, there was no grudge between the Ouyang Family and Lin Fan.
So it didn’t make sense that Lin Fan would target their Ouyang Family like this.
“Why?” That was all that the Ouyang Family Head could say after seeing this.
He wasn’t a fool, he knew that it was impossible for him or the rest of the Ouyang Family experts to get out of this. If it wasn’t for the bit of leniency they were shown, they wouldn’t have even been able to look up to see what Lin Fan and King Han were doing.
As such, they knew that it was all already over.
Lin Fan didn’t say anything as he looked at someone who had been following the guards on the side.
This person was completely covered in a cloak, which hid their appearance.
The way that he looked at them, it was as if he was asking for their opinion.
But why would he need to do something like that?
After a moment of silence, the cloaked figure gave a nod and raised their hand to the hood of the cloak on their face. After grabbing it, they pulled back the hood of the cloak and revealed their true appearance.
The Ouyang Family Head was a bit confused at first since he didn’t recognize this person, but then a look of recognition slowly appeared on his face.
“It’s…you? Why is it you?” The Ouyang Family Head said in a shocked voice.
But then he didn’t even wait for an answer as he turned to Lin Fan to say, “I didn’t have anything to do with that matter back then. I’ll promise to work together with you to take care of the other two families, I’ll even serve you as a dog if you spare my…”
There were no words that followed as the Ouyang Family Head found that he couldn’t say a single thing. He found that he couldn’t even make a single sound.
That was because…
His throat was cut in half and his vocal chords were severed.
When he fell face first, there was only regret that was in his eyes as he realized that he had been too greedy in life.
If he had been even a bit more cautious…
In the end, the spirit beasts that arrived feasted on the corpses of the Ouyang Family and cleaned up everything.
This was all planned by Lin Fan.
Following this, it was the Bei Family that went through the same ordeal.
Though they had a stronger reaction when they saw the cloaked figure.
In the end, they didn’t get to do a single thing as they were all eliminated by Lin Fan.
